Well, by your complaining, I would guess that your preference is for a game with...
No hacking (Please, point to one of those?)
No bots (Please, point to one of those?)
No ganking (which I admit, might make AA a bad choice for those that are a sensitive to such things. It is, I admit, a challenging and sometimes unforgiving PvP environment)
I am confused though, which game are you playing that has no bots or hacking?
And what information do you have as to how Trion will handle those elements in this game at launch?

That's what I'm saying. Honestly, the combat never impressed me, which I found disappointing since I was one of the first people in my group of gaming friends to even know about Archeage. Now no one in said group talks about it. People don't want something they feel they've played already OR is coming out on the horizon in a more polished form.
In that light, I think Black Desert will blow AA away on aesthetic and gameplay levels. The combat already looks 100% more fluid and full of the "OOMPH" I look for (ie: hard hits and nothing "tab"-centric).
All I'm saying is that AA better hurry up and grab some CS dinero before better sandboxes that aren't half a decade old come out.
Again, there's no reason to think of AA as the best anything of 2014 because its development and publication took too long. This is the year for games developed FOR this year, not Korea's hand-me-downs.
Believe me, I used to want this game to succeed, but I can't possibly JUSTIFY why it didn't come out years ago. Too little too late.

That's a shame, because it is exactly the same game as you was looking forward to back then. They only thing that seems to have changed is your apparent level of being offended about it not getting here sooner.
The same things that appealed to you about it then are still there.
All you do in order to enjoy them is let go of this weird sense of being somehow (emotionally?) let down by it's delay to market that you seem to have developed.
My main issue with AA is the typical asian style NPC / Mob clump setup. Most of it makes no sense and the majority of npcs are static and non interactive. Mob spawns are just strewn about with no rhyme or reason.
A clump of bandits on one side of the road and a clump of spiders on the other side. Just terrible.

Thank you, yeah, I am having a ton of fun. I love games that are about community inter dependence (and drama), risk, and investment, and AA is all of that.
What you say is right, it IS free to try so please do. I actually think you will see exactly what I mean, and why this game has pulled me out of MMO retirement (it has even got me posting again here lol).

It's not forced. You choose yourself if you wanna venture out into the PVP zone. Personally I love it that they focus endgame around PVP. Finally!!! If you want PVE 24/7 then you have EQ Landmarks that way ----->

You are correct that it isn't completely 'Forced PvP' - but you will be very restricted if you definitely don't want to do ANY PvP.
Archeage's basic setup is fantastic and some of the immersion in the game is the best I have seen in years!
But if many of the PvP mechanics aren't changed (such as Allies killing Allies for fun) I can see it dying horribly a few months after release - which is an absolute shame as archeage with a few tweaks could be one of the best modern immersive mmo's on the market.
Make a PvE server - or better still allow people to either choose to PvP or not (using something similar to Neocrons Implant system - which could have lowered rewards for trading etc) and you are much more likely to get player numbers...
Come on I am so damn excited since I heard that some of the boats you can build come with air tanks so you can go deep sea swimming for treasure!!
The game ISNT JUST ABOUT PvP ENDGAME - if it was - why put everything else in it!!
