Originally posted by xplororor The ONLY mmorpg that comes closest to your requests is... Anarchy Online. Most of the high end, end game content is soloable - but takes very long and/or requires the solo player to use their brains. (For example looking around the land and recignizing that you can CLIMB up the tall steppes, plataues, mesas, and snip ultra-high level boss henchmen, and bosses. As well as other things.) AO has tons of revolutionary features, including allowing casual players to get something done, even high end casual players. In PvP, much lower level players have a legit chance to slay much higher level players. And much, much, more. As far as I know, right now AO has extended their FREEE trial to ONE YEAR. Download it, immediatly right now for free, and play for free from now until Jan 2007!
Thanks all for the continued feedback.
xplororor, Thanks for the AO info!
A year? AO does have a free trial, but for a year? You got a link? It does not say that on their web site.

I have played most mmorpgs though I'm more a FPS fan so when battlefield first came out I was kinda hoping for a Battlefield meet Planetside style MMOFPS... even with a added role play for level up and training etc etc. even the chance of leading a squad or being a commander of several squads.
Originally posted by Huntn I've played Planetside for 18 months and WoW for 12 months and burned out on both. WoW was great while I was leveling. Now that my primary is capped at 60, the game no longer appeals to me. Besides no more leveling, the focus at 60 is to repeat large 40 player raid instances over and over. Is there a MMORPG where the end game focus is on exploration and not repetition? Is there a MMORPG that has the following? -Solo quests at all levels? (WoW) -Small party quests at all levels? (WoW) -Does not restrict the best equipment in the game to large raid instances? (Wow) -Supports PvP without extreme lag? -Does not penalize casual players? -Rewards for exploration and keeps it fun at the top end? (I realize how subjective this is.) Thanks! -Hunt'n
Well actually I know alot of people will laugh when I say this but Guild Wars covers all those points. Alot of people dont really think of Guild Wars as an MMO because of how instanced it is, but ya if your looking for somethin with those points its sounds like guild wars covers all those aspects. I mean it has virtually no lagg lol, I mean I shrink the screen and chat on msn and google web pages as i play the game so obviously not much lagg lol. Its totally based on small party quests so there ya go, also it was actually made for casual players instead of the hard core time speders. The best equiptent you can get is at any point in the game as long as you can either get the cash or find the materials needed for it. Also you can solo whever you want

Have you played Planetside? I played it for 18 months. It's outstanding from an FPS standpoint. Finally burned out, attacking the same bases over and over. Factions control bases until someone takes it from them.

You may want to have a read of "Age of Conan" although it's looking at Q4 release, the game sounds like it will have an interesting PvP system.
IMHO a mix of PS and SWG(orig) would make an excellent PvP style game.
Thanks all for the continued feedback.

Will be the game that breaks with the whole HP take a little on every hit thing and implement a more realistic combat system.
Probably relying heavely on high percentage of parrying and dodging...
Also checkout Vanguard : Saga of Hereos, it looks like its gonna be good, although its yet to be released.
From what ive read of the faq looks like its gonna be sweet
