Everquest 1 for about  6 years including beta

APB Reloaded off and on (still play) for about 3 years, maybe a tad more.

Eve Online was bout 3-4 years as well. Roaming 0.0 in a 2-5 man gang was epic until the chickens started venturing into null sec and didn't want to lose anything so they roamed in packs of 40+, now it's just completely retarded.

Darkfall Online for around 3-4 years whatever it was. Played beta and up to about 6 months prior to shut down.

World of Warcraft for maybe a year tops.

    Age of Conan - 6months

Um... more but I don't think any of them really lasted log. I expect ArcheAge to last me at least 6 months, but hope it lasts several years. Really depends on how much content they put in while we go. I really miss the days of EQ's hard and fun content and excellent expansions. I can hope!

WoW for 3 1/2 years strait, was my 1st MMO.  And have came back to it periodically.  Only other MMO that has kept my attention is DDO which prolly have played that over a year a little bit with some breaks.  Been in MMO limbo for the past few years as nothing has been able to keep my attention more than 3 months.

I played EQ1 for about six months until WoW came out in 2004 - been a citizen of Azeroth ever since. Nothing pulled me away from WoW until I tried Anarchy Online on a whim. I fell for AO hard. Loved that game! Stayed with it for two years before the flaws and neglect forced me to bow out. I look at The Repopulation through the eyes of an AO fan. I'm pulling for The Repopulation in a big way.

My first one I actually played was Guild Wars 1.  I played WoW for a good bit of time in the middle of that, but of the two the last one I logged in on was GW1.  So from first login to last login, that would be it!

    oops edit:  GW1 in 2005 - 2012

The longest is Second Life, which I've been with on and off for the past 6 years, taking a month or two break from time to time.  Aside from that, SWG for longest consecutive time of about a year and a half from the time I started until NGE hit.  Even after NGE I went back a few times for a month or two at a time until the guild I was in fell apart.  Most themepark MMOs hold my interest for only a month or two at a time and there are very few that I've gone back to revisit after having left them.

WoW and Lineage II. WoW I currently don't have a subscription but I have had one for over 3 years total all together and own every expansion and raided every expansions end game. Lineage II I have subscribed a lot longer, until it went F2P and have been playing on and off since launch, in 2004.

Dofus, MapleStory, and PerfectWorld, about 6 months each. (Runner-up WoW at 4 months.)
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story.  So PM me if you are starting one.

Guild Wars since release in 2005. Literally just stopped playing like 8 months ago, so about 8 years or so. Over 4,000 hours logged between 9 characters and I still have about $2,000 left from a prize I won with my guild in a PvP tournament. Runner up would be FFXI which I played for about 3 years on and off.

I played Infantry Online from 1999 when SoE picked it up till it shutdown in 2012. While I doubt anyone would qualify that game as an MMO I've yet to find a game that could keep me as interested as that little 2D sprite lobby game.

Just curious here, Jean-Luc. Do you still roll up new characters or basically just hang out with your top characters?

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

Played Lineage 2 for 4 years (since 2004 to 2008 or so)  then I never found a MMO again that I could play more than a few months.

I've been sticking to DayZ since May 2012, if that counts.

  • ReizlaReizla Member RarePosts: 4,092

Lineage II from February 2005 (private server) and March 2006 (official servers) till February 2012. A total og 4 1/2 years of subscription time for the main account and 2 years for my 2 alt accounts each. If it didn't go F2P and had such a crappy update in November 2011 (Goddess of Destruction), I'd be most likely still be playing it...

But now there's ArcheAge and I think that one might even break the Lineage II playing time ;-)

I played WoW for 4 or 5 years; I had a blast.  Once I stopped having fun, I reluctantly gave my voidwalker and imp back to the gents within the bowels or Orgrimmar.

Also played Darkfall for 3 years or so, off and on.
