4 gb of ram seems like something that is almost standard on any basic computer nowadays. If you said 8gb or 16gb I would probably agree with you. I really don't see how this is going to keep people at bay.The recommended for Wildstar is 8GB...minimum means it may run okay on the lowest settings.

Here We Go You Understand What Im Saying, Not To Mention The Difference In Total Ram And Dedicated Ram
In the end, Minimum and Recommended are just an estimate and an disclaimer.
If you don't meet the minimum it isn't our fault if it doesn't run. If you don't meet the Recommended it isn't are fault if it doesn't run well.
Sometimes you're lucky. I had a friend run Wow with 128mb of ram and whatever old Pentium his computer came with. I discovered this when I logged in and got to experience the Orgrimmar slideshow. He avoided cities and it was playable out in the world.
what i found disappointing is that players are instanced. There might be 1000 people in the starting place but you will see like 4-5, its now like WoW where 1000 could be in the same spot. IF you group with a guy you have to sync together so he can see you... Something like neverwinter... major disappointment here..
Except that i had fun leveling and questing till lvl 15
Actually its not first, played before on Closed beta. After purchasing Elder Scrolls Online decided to give a try for WildStar.
Generally game is really cool; super cool graphics, smooth movement, nice battlegrounds. Problem NCSoft has got is there is no leaderboards and really low population. I mean, come on it is open beta(public) still servers population are LOW. Other than those things game has got potential. I'm not sure yet but I could buy the game before released.
Right now (9:00pm EST) 4 of the 5 servers are MEDIUM. Only Pergo, the PvP server, is low
So, OP, are you saying that WS is 100% better than WoW, but ESO is better?
Yeah I think that's what he's trying to say, but let's be honest...neither game is anywhere near as good as World of Warcraft, even in it's 10 year old state. It's still a superior experience to what ESO and Wildstar offers...and that isn't praise for WoW either, it just goes to show what a low standard the other 2 games are at imo. If you want to play a themepark MMO then look no further than Warcraft because simply (and depressingly) nobody does it better. 100% better than WoW? Don't make me laugh...

Sorry, I would like to point out that this is actually false.
The first two zones (The Arkship and then the smaller zone after) are instanced if there are too many players to keep the server steady and to prevent long waits on trying to do a kill quest.
After that the game is open and you can see everyone.
ESO was a major let down, didn't buy that game. At first I also dismissed WS, played one beta weekend prior to this open beta and I managed to play the game for 15 minutes.
This time around I really took my time and fell in love with the game. Today I preordered it and I'll not be playing open beta any more
If you played and enjoyed WoW, you gonna love this. It's all what WoW was, only better in every way possible. Sure, it's not Warcraft universe, but world of WS is very likeable and well crafted. It's not trying to be revolutionary like GW2 (which was crap in my book), it's just packed with loads of small changes that fit together to make a great game. Polish is also there and all in all, I'm loving it.
Big surprise for me!
Pretty much the same with me, first impression wise.
Wildstar is very good at giving terrible first impressions....I mean, just read these forums for a while.
Around level 8+ is just awesome though and level 20 is amazing. (I've reached around lvl 38ish atm)
I am completely unengaged in the game due to the lifeless, linear design to the world and the horribly simplistic quest design. I actually enjoy the combat system in this game, more so than any other recent MMO, yet I feel it is entirely a wasted effort in the long run due to how uncreative the designers were when it came to the most basic aspects of a MMO (World and Quests).
Whatever the game is like at higher levels is irrelevant to me at the moment due to how amateur the world design and quests feel in the early game. You come upon a quest hub, do the few quests there, then forget about that town forever as it has no value to the player moving forward. I have grown tired of the corridor world design with one massive hub city/zone at the end MMOs implement over and over again, so I will most likely pass on this game unless they drop the subscription sometime in the future.
I have been in few close beta run for WS but honest this close to release the still have issues with performance that tell me the change the release date for clearly the game is not done for a game should not have performance issues this late in beta for now you should more of less play real game as go to be when go live.
Honest nothing in WS is anything new i have it is same type of quest you see in WoW go out kill this many thing but instead of number the show in % so what is new that WS bring to table honestly nothing and yes WS is better then WoW for then again WoW is 10 year old and if blizzard would have made WoW today it would most like look like WS when come to gfx.
If I compare ESO and WS i have to say ESO bring more now thing to table then WS for example in ESO you dont have follow any red line when come to quest when you done with quest or quest line you can go your own way only quest line you have follow is main story line and fight guild and mage guild then send certain place but that is about it. Well is WS there quest are follow specification patch you need to follow while ESO have more freedom you go out in world and explore when do that you found quest but WS npc A gave quest that send at end to new area where get new quest just like in WoW.
So to me WS is just pump up version of WoW with better gfx and if people like that type of game fine but honest i get really tried of be hand lead to next quest are it is get real old.
So, OP, are you saying that WS is 100% better than WoW, but ESO is better?

Well i guess if like been spoon feed free epic then WoW is fun for like 5 min and if like have been force to play same way like everyone else are and have to listen to people that think dps meter is holy bible and kick people left and right for doing enough dps in fight when did dps meter become more import then try to have fun kill of hard boss no WoW have become a easy mode MMO and when people think to hard the go to WoW forum and whine until blizzard nerf everything for WoW is not a massively multiplayer online game anymore it is single massively online game with element group content.
Tell me that blizzard do a great job of make WoW the best game then that is why game to 7 million sub now and that should tell you that something is wrong for the have lost over 5 million after lich king expansion and dont tell me that just people have just left for bored blah blah thing is if WoW is sssooo good in your eyes why have 5 million player left game if notihng is wrong with game and we are talk about 5 million world wide that WoW have lost that is alot off player

Let's more talk about WildStar.
Quests are pretty nice, features especially housing and side classes (scientist, explorer and blah blah) are really impressive. It making game active while doing quests I was researching about biology. What I'm saying is it is FUN. Sadly still populations are Low, I dont know what will happen when game started but looks like will be free in future. I hope we wont see this game in MMORPG garbage in future; because of its well maded!
I played WoW for long time, honestly this game %100 better than WoW. Why? Better features, better activities and of course better graphics.
But If you are confused between The Elder Scrolls Online and WildStar. I would recommend you give a try ESO. Dont get me wrong am not a fan boy. ESO has got a lot of problems but its more populated and more serious.
Thank you for reading, I would love to hear your open beta impressions.
LOL OP says ESO is better than Wildstar.
OPs opinion suddenly becomes worth less than dog shit.

Of course they are not Crysis graphics, but you can't have those in an MMO at this point. As guy above me said, it's all about the style and this style fricking works. It's lovely to look at

I can respect what you are saying here. But, Rift has no soul. Wildstar has a lot of soul. That difference will probably never put these games in the same league. Also, im not sure if you've tried out the open beta. I was in closed beta since last year. I used the same computer. I am getting a much better performance in open beta then I have ever had in closed beta. The fact that they have really improved it for open beta tells me that its a good chance the game will run even better on launch. But, I suppose only time will tell.
Technically, Rift has a lot more Souls... Just sayin'.

Archeage uses cryengine 3. your wrong.
he's not wrong, crysis graphics are uncomparable to archeage, why because in an mmo environment the amount of poly's etc.. that you get in crysis would render the AA game world unplayable with high amounts of players etc... the engine is CryEngine 3 but the graphics are nowhere comparable.
I can play it on my $400 laptop, so it can't be too bad.
And I really like the housing.
That said, I'm considering not buying because they are implementing a cash to gold system and all the housing stuff costs a ton of gold if you really get into it. If they make farming gold a pain in the butt so people will buy it, I will be one unhappy gamer.
I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.
Well considering thats an open beta a few days before release, lets consider that this is a promo-demo of the game and few things will change ...
Well battles are looking interesting and fair, but it took me time to get used the hotkeys and find a way to achieve dodge in combat but this is something they might fix. Also i saw pretty good depth into character development with traits, skills, some other stuff my gf didnt let me to read Least but not less important are the lore books and the achievements and the 4 paths which looks interesting (i have chosen the explorer path so it might be different the other paths..)
On the other hand the quest mechanics were so outdated almost boring ..! At least they had voice over which was into kinda funny and acceptable . The divided world into 2 realms which pvp each other and thats all its a HUGE turn OFF for me and thats the 1st main reason i am not gonna spend money and buy that game (there is also a 2nd) .
There are mounts which is welcome, there are also interesting and smooth animations, i would say fine polished. But the second Turn OFF for me are the graphics, yes they cartoon style, but they have overdone it. In my eyes they were like an iOS game, good to spend 30mins but not more. Its understandable they wanted to make a funny MMO, but i dunno this is truly so far away from my tastes, actually its on the opposite direction i would like to see on an MMORPG. There wasnt a place to stand and see the scenery or stand and glory your character, everything was so into a toony mood, which makes you laugh but also forget easy ...
Consider i never liked WoW . And english are not my native language
Originally posted by Bladestrom I wouldn't worry about it, think back to any mmorg you have ever played at end game - gold is never an issue, long term goals are however
I only worry because getting gold in GW2 was a pain in the butt. Whenever there was good farming, it got nerfed. And I enjoy wandering around, farming mindlessly for gold. It's one of the highlights of MMOs for me. It's relaxing. Weird, I know.
Also, if I buy it and play to max level, then find out there is no good farming that will let me get my housing stuff (or it's all getting nerfed right and left), I'll be out the money I could have saved and I'll be really ticked off about it.
So I'm on the fence now about buying. I wish there were other things I really enjoy about the game to tip me over, but so far I haven't found it. Maybe I will before this beta ends. I do appreciate the length of this prelaunch open beta. Shows they're proud of what they've done, regardless of whether it fits my tastes for a game or not.
I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.
Everything about this game is terrible, it hurts my soul to think about how talented their programmers and artists are and this is what they have made. Jesus.
