I will not be playing wildstar because first off, there is a game out already that does what wildstar does atleast twice as good.
That game would be Final Fantasy XIV. First, looking at wildstar through the FFXIV lens, we see the telegraph system similarities, almost every single dungeon in Wildstar is entirely telegraph system based.
Wildstar goes overboard with the telegraph system leaving no room for the imagination or skill on boss fights or gameplay, there is no chance for you make basic mistakes, one of them being out of range for your heals because it shows you where it will be using telegraphs on the ground, theres no chance of failing to be in range for your attacks because again they put telegraphs down for your attack and direction of attack, One huge boss swing of his club, overkilled once again with telegraphs, you know exactly where and what range of that huge swing of the club, they hold your hand so heavily with the telegraph system that nothing is left to the imagination or skill.
Second, the graphics of FFXIV are of the same style which is cartoony to a degree, but uses much more refined art and beauty to it that makes you wonder why anyone would want to go with such a bland style of graphics that wildstar has, almost the whole gameworld has only a few shades of color surrounding the red and brown spectrums. The lack of detail on objects and the goofy style of unrelism that comes with even legs on spaceships just isn't anywhere as close to how good the art of a cartoon type artstyle looks on a game like FFXIV.
Last but not least, would be the price of the game, Its ridiculous to see the same type of gameplay from a game like FFXIV which is only 29.99 being sold on a market for twice that price. I think Wildstar should tone down their price to be equal to FFXIV if they really expect a strong player base. In fact, I would go as far to say it should be free to play since it doesn't have all the top end Qualities of a AAA game, and fall somewhere in the AA range just behind FFXIV and WoW.
So there is my reasons why I wont be playing Wildstar when it launches.

what's the point of this post? kinda pointless....
I could sum up also a lot MMO'S RPG'S PC, PS4, Xbox1 games that i won't play. So what's the point posting this? NON at all, just to get some attention i guess.
ESO is still top of my list, with FFXIV right behind it. Wildstar could have been my second game but its worse then FFXIV to me, and I don't see myself giving up FFXIV as a second game for Wildstar.
just because i will play World Of Warcraft : Warlords Of Draenor.
Wildstar for me is just a wowclone with telegraphs in space and i say that because i played all the beta weekends.
The only thing that i did wrong is pre-ordering it without Reaching the cap level, btw if someont knows how to cancel my preorder plz let me know.
The art style of FFXIV and WS are nowhere near the same.
FFXIV went for a realistic high fantasy. WS went for Don Bluth hyper stylized approach.
I played FFXIV and downed all content in that game. It is a solid game, but has it's issue also.
Is WS perfect? Nope, but I see more potential for growth in WS, then in FFXIV or ESO.
FFXIV was orignally 59.99 just like every other game. Except it was so bad, then had to shut it down and rebuild it. They knew they would never get 59.99 again for that game. So they made it 29.99..... plenty of people bought it at 59.99 ....
WAIT WAIT WAIT... As a FF14 Player did you Just Bitch and compare how FF14 Cheaper because they had ruined their game and they had to rehash it again... Clearly I enjoy ff14 but there not even close to the same games... Also they failed us the first time. Reason they sold it cheaper to earn our trust....
You are like a raging out trying compare 2 complete diff games. I for one will be playing both. FF14 once every 6 years for new content updates and WildStar Monthly with all its content updates.
SNIP
eh what? FFXIV is not doing any better LOL
infact FFXIV is dead.. and it has no content i played for 3 months completed everything.. Wildstar is and will be the next big title.. that suvives for years.
and also FFXIV got a crappy housing system and also for EU people u lag like hell..
Wildstar got Huge Scale dungeons, raids pvp, and tons of things to do like customizing your house, guild housing is coming later. and the raids are hardcore and dungeons are huge as hell and hard aswell
Just think the same thing could happen to wildstar that happened to FFXIV, content runs dry on a lot of games, when you look at games and think they are going to be around for years to come, one update can change that whole outlook in the matter of a day. I think playing FFXIV every 6 months when major content updates are given isn't too unreasonable like one of the previous posters has already understood.
If someone who likes Wildstar made a posting as to why he wouldn't play ESO, usually the ESO-fanboys told him that no one cares for his opinion, that he should go and play his sunday morning cartoon game or that he should do his business in the Wildstar forums.
[mod edit]
Well price wise FF14 was cheaper since it was a revamp of a game that came out at full price that was rather lackluster. No ones going to buy a game that flopped hard once for full price, if they thought people would they would of charged it. As such your point is... well... a bit stupid. According to your logic then, any Old MMO with a price reduction is a far better 'deal' which yeah, its not new of course its going to be cheaper. That and seeing how you seem to be a supporter of ESO.... aren't you being hypocritical, specially with imperial edition giving quite a leg up for getting? XD
Graphic wise... honestly I prefer FF14 but its silly to claim it 'lacks detail' honestly Wildstar kicks FF14's ass when it comes to detail, though its done with a different art style making it appear much more differently. Again, I prefer FF14's graphics but Wildstar has plenty of details going on that Its a bit ignorant to claim otherwise.
As for your comment about the telegraph system (ignoring the fact FF14 you compare most to shows LOTS of telegraphs).... play wildstar, come back to me when you done at least a dungeon. First dungeon in game. Tell me then that the telegraphs make it 'easier' or take out any 'skill'. Your joking yourself completely if you think so. FF14 has plenty of telegraphs with stuff. Anyone who thinks they make it 'easier' is in some state of dillusion. Its not easy for everyone to see every effect, and telegraphs help with that. A telegraph of something that is ACTIVELY GOING ON is not going to suddenly make things easier. If your in it your already probably being destroyed by it, and those that aren't already going off have quite a quick reaction time with a very harsh penalty for messing up.
Seriously, play the game instead of being the guy that watches a Mixed Martial Arts match claiming he could easily get in the ring and kick everyones asses. Saying you can is a lot different from doing, and I'm sure you really get in that ring you would get your lights knocked out quicker then it took to get in the ring to begin with.
The housing system could definitely use some work, with only the super rich/FCs being able to afford it, but that doesn't make the game as a whole bad.
I play from the EU on a US server and I never lag in FFXIV, infact I have several EU friends who play the game and who were impressed at how the game didn't lag even though the server center is located in America.
If you somehow managed to complete all the content (Which would require playing several hours every day for months) then maybe it's time for you to move onto something else. I hear there is a new mmo out callied Wildstar, maybe give that a try and leave the rest of us to play FFXIV?
I played FFXIV up to level 26. hands down worse leveling ive ever tried to complete. i thought the graphics were grainy and didn`t look that nice (some zones were nice). I am in fact going to play wildstar. i only leveled to 6 (didn`t enjoy it it that much) but it wasn`t enough to make a judgement so i pre ordered it.
I am waiting for Archeage though. i have a 50 in the alpha and it`s the best mmo ive played since vanilla WoW
I never understood why would someone go to a forum and state that he won't play X game for whatever legit or lame ass reasons.
@OP: How many visitors / posters here do you really think that care about you playing WS or not?
+1
FF14 is a completely different beast. It's got slow and deliberate gameplay while Wildstar has got hyperkinetic crazy fast gameplay.
A person who is right in the middle of the target audience for Wildstar will likely be bored to tears in FF14. The other way around the same guy who enjoys FF14 more will likely start twitching all over his body when playing Wildstar.
Your points are also not right. More games do telegraphs and it definitely can be debated that Wildstar overdoes them, however, there are most definitely plenty of chances to miss heals or attacks when everything around you (players and mobs) is moving around superfast.
To summarize: just no, they are two completely different mmo's.

I couldn't possibly let you get away with this, the reasoning is very flawed on your answer, and heres why. You first have to look at how telegraphs work and the window of reaction time you have to react to them. If you have 5 ms time to react to a telegraph, you just have to look at the ground and when you see it light up, you move. That simple.
Now if you look at FFXIV telegraph system in say Crystal tower, same thing happened there. Now you look at FFXIV coil fights where the raids did not have Telegraphs, nor did Primals. Its because they did not have telegraphs, it made it a lot more challenging. If you look at anything with telegraphs, its a system to warn you, that warning is what automaticly lets you beat the game with faceroll because if your reaction time is 5 ms every single time, its a 100% win!
Let me correct that, there was a few telegraphs throughout the raids and primals, but it was so little that it actually allowed you to have some level of challenge, its because they did not use them the entire fight for every single move that it wasn't a complete faceroll.
Now, i couldn't possibly let you go away with this. Obviously you have not tried a veteran dungeon or a raid in WS, i have. And to say that they where hard would be a huge understatement. People thinking that telegraphs make things easy are in for a very unpleasant surprise when the game goes live. It will be fun watching pug groups going into veteran Stormtalon's lair and wipe for a couple of hours before disbanding.
Play whatever game you want. The slow pace of FF14 drove me to tears. I feel like it is the most mediocre MMO I have ever played while WS is much more interesting and fun. To each their own.
I think what you are talking about is the cheap shot telegraphs in the raids, where you are going to die without a warning of a telegraph or not. Nothing wrong with a cheapshot, but why would you even need a telegraph for a cheap shot then? It actually will allow you to beat the raid faster when that cheap shot IS a telegraph because you know the pattern faster then without one. So for cheap shots, you absolutely shouldn't even have a telegraph, it defeats its purpose. Think of telegraphs as either a cheapshot with 100% hints on how to beat it next time, or as something that does allow you a 5 ms reaction time to move out of it resulting in a face roll.
I'd rather see a raid that makes you use your intellect to move out of a huge swinging club and not knowing what its range is or how it works and needs to be figured out, then something that shows highlights on the ground of the exact range, and details of the swing. Such a faceroll when your jumping around telegraphs every second. I bet the raids in WS will be beat in a much faster time then FFXIV Turn 5 was because of this.
I'll assume you surrender to the first few points. To telegraphs!
So wait... how is that very flawed? What you are using is called a fallacy. "If A is easy, then B is easy." Comparing some specific example of a telegraph (in a certain way) in a game being easy, thus automatically making it true. Just because I am holding a wagon wheel in my arms, doesn't mean I'm a wagon. Making your point sound rather silly doesn't it?
Telegraphs can work practically anyway developers set them to work. A telegraph can be there to show before a spell is cast where it will hit, or it can function by showing up on the effect while its going off. A lot of what wildstar shows with raids and in dungeons, the telegraphs actively are on for abilities BEING DONE in an area, not just what abilities will be used. Many of the skills enemies do use with cast times are far less forgiving then standard telegraphs that just cover say a cone or a circle, which are extremely predictable.
FF14 had LOTS of telegraphs. Unforgiving telegraphs, but telegraphs. Primals were full of them. I can't recall much that didn't have some telegraph being charged outside Ifrits charge. Titan considered to be one of the most complex fights is pretty much telegraph city and yet even on Titan hard (not even extreme which btw I DID) people had so much trouble with it.
The easiest thing against your argument though is simple. Link your video doing the dungeons and fights and face rolling in wildstar. Seriously I want to see them. I'm not kidding by the way, really I want you to show it. You could tell anyone that you can fly like a bird, but its a whole different story actually doing so and showing it in action.
well it wont happen in wildstar cause in FFXIV u had 2 dungeons to farm at lvl 50.. and u had to farm ehm everyday like 5 times a day to reach your goal..
I notice Wildstar players on this forum get real defensive when comparing their game to anything OP, you might as well spit in the wind and get the same effect.
I get what the OP is saying and we are on a forum to vent or discuss whats on our minds, however with that said, I will be playing Wildstar, I will be hoping for the best, but be expecting the worst. That's the way to approach any new mmo in todays market.
I am a victim of peer pressure.
you havent done any actual content in FFXIV... any boss ability of importance or moreso that could be dodged, basically had a telegraph, and they worked completely differentley then they do in wildstar, im kinda feeling like you havent played either game to be completely honest. but w/evs
I've been playing FFXIV since initial release September 2010 and still have lots to do whoever says they cleared all in 3 months are delusional. Plus there is content added in regular bases so this donkeys(asses) are talking shit that can't back up.
Some ignorant said FFXIV is dead ???? There are 64 servers and 60% of them are full closed meaning you can't create character or transfer to them. I'm not in a full closed server Hyperion to be exact and it's people everywhere not even funny.
edit: if wildstar has 2-3 servers will be a success so the 64 servers ffxiv pee on those
