Not anyone can play for 10 hours straight or more. Excitement is one thing, but there is also called resting from the game. Also, there is server que, for all of the sudden the server is full AF. Also, some of us likes to see what people's thought on the game that actually have the game. You need to see from all angle of why someone is on the forum instead of play. But so far from 10 years of MMO, Wildstar have the smoothest launch.
I'm glad you like the game, especially during the grind phase. I myself tried so hard to like it during open beta, combat+aesthetics of the game just aren't me.

For me, if Wildstar will offer the same joy as Aion for exemple, for 2 years , then I will be happy.
But something tells me that WS will be my home for a very long time. I never pre-order/play games if I am not 99% sure that I really like the game. Every time I was right. I didn't bought/play ( just tested them in beta's ) , Warhammer, Rift, SWTOR, ESO, LOTRO , etc , so I think I will be good with WS for a long time

Is it really a surprise people like this ? There are a lot of people who still like wow but are just tired of playing it. This gives them pretty much exactly what they wanted.

This is my feeling about Wildstar as well. It is a very good WoW clone that comes with all the pieces people expect from WoW + better combat. So it will be attractive to those who like WoW, Rift, SWToR etc but won't be to those who don't like the WoW style of gaming.
Although personally I think one thing Wildstar does let down players with is the questing. It is significantly worse that current WoW questing.
So far so good has been my experience, but nothing that made me say holy ($*#, this game is awesome! It is still way to early for me to cast a final judgment on my time in this game.
I did get 'ahh damn' moment when I had to get kills to 100% to finish my mission, but I knew what kind of theme park mmo this was going to be when I purchased it.
But honestly, the game does have a certain appeal that will attract certain types of mmo gamers that did like the wow style back in the days, but I don't see anything new or innovating in this title, just good ole fashion mmo fun with a certain type of attitude and humor.

There are a lot of things that Wildstar does right, in my opinion. There are also some 'critical misses'.

OP, I'm happy you found a new home. We do need more positive threads around about what makes us play a certain game.
Of course people can have their own negative opinions, but they're a dime a dozen around these parts and there's plenty of room for them to post their dissenting opinion.
I might buy it soon but man...too many games, too little time. There has never been a better time to be a gamer. I want to retire so I can play catch up.
Do you know what was the most striking thing I noticed. The amazing detail on the environment and surroundings. I was showing my husband the labs and also the pubs oh lol as a settler you can make bongs for the tables out of some tubes you find. (I laughed out loud at that ) He was also quite taken although he finds the art style not to his liking he too admitted the artist have truly crafted a world with loving hands that they have paid so much attention to detail. It may not be art you like but taken as an entirety it is very well put together and complete.
Also the colours they are so rich. People complain about the jarring effects but once you play for awhile or may be because I adore this style you will love the palette. I was just looking at the emerald green and wonderful forest and was so taken by it I was just standing there and looking. I recall once when I went to Ashenvale for the first time a similar feeling and that was what I felt yesterday standing amidst this beautiful game. A feeling that these artists did a superb job of creating a truly immersive world within an art style. You may not like it like my husband but you cannot deny the talent required to envision a complete and moving experience when you set your eyes upon it for the first time.
The other thing is the races so diverse in looks from the Granok to the Mordesh,Draken to the tiny Aurin my husband said they did not go for elves and dwarves I see. Yes a sense of imagination and I think the cartoon medium was the perfect way to express this world. I hope to play this for some time too and you guys with the sour grapes ...go make some vinegar.
Say the same after 30 days and it might have some more weight . Its great you are njoying the game but as someone have already said, threads like this pop up with any mmo. For someone who has waited 9 years for "a wow successor" Id expect you to be a bit more careful than that lol.
Seriously .. I'm glad your enjoying it OP , Wildstar is kind of ok , but certainly not as good as you make it out to be , and successor to Wow ? .... you must be smoking something !

tastes differ in my opinion the game is average.
I will not play this even if it was totally free.
I am playing dark souls now,waiting for DESTINY and I first want to see how sacred 3 looks before buying.
