i played ESO to lv 25 but it didnt catch me. i felt like playing a single player game.
i tried out WS but couldnt get past lv 2 (!!) with 2 chars. i dont like the controls. probably i should try it longer but i guess i would, if it would be good for me, what it isnt.
back to..... ? probably swtor. i prefer the combat.
ESO got hated to hell and back. Then it went and flopped come launch as so many put it.
Fixed
Anyway, beta told me to put off any aspirations of playing ESO for some time, still haven't purchased it, but I will eventually when most everything is under control. As for Wildstar knew from the start it wouldn't be my thing as far as themeparks go. Nothing I've seen or heard yet has changed my mind about that.

I've had ESO and WS subbed but I seem to spend anytime I have in WS so the ESO just got cancelled due to no time to play it unless I sleep even less lol
As others have said, same for me. I didn't think it would appeal to me one bit, but I am officially addicted to the corny world and animation.
What surprised me on top of my acceptance just playing the game itself, is the music! I love the music in the game. In most places it doesn't fit the environment, but it is nice to listen to. Also, the actual combat is some of the best I have played yet!
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
Originally posted by docminus2 As an avid Elder Scrolls player (esp Skyrim) I really thought I would be busy with ESO for ages to come. But as it turned out it wasn't what I expected. WS on the other hand, I thought I wouldn't care for, seeing some of the videos that have been out. But now, having tested it, I love it. Didn't think I would like a pure theme park MMO at this point (having just come from EVE), especially after ESO, but oh was I wrong! Yes, it's not perfect, but as long as it's fun, even if it is just for a few months (long run?). Great job Carbine.
Thanks for the shout out, sincerely.

This is a thing i like a lot with WS Devs. They are always listening and answering. Not only in official forums, but on twitter, on gaming sites, by mail and many other social media.
So, mr Gaffney while we have the honor to have you here, do you have something exclusive for us here at mmorpg.com? Some unknown info or a future addition to game?
Thanks

Yeah the communication is so amazing. I was upset with ArenaNet being so silent in GW2.
I really hope you guys are going to keep this route, it's so rare to have devs, cm and staff like you.
Didn't Blizzard have Ghostcrawler? Hearing from the devs isn't new and it doesn't always have a positive affect. I for one am all for developers that make a game, stand by it, and don't let others detract them from that path. Unfortunately these days, development seems intertwined with public opinion to it's detriment.
So the game is hard... that should be it's selling point, not a reason to change it. << Just using this as an example.
I am definitely having a difference experience in both games and find myself playing both here and there, however it seems to me that teso still dominates in the story line (at least to me) and Wildstar is just giving me that old WoW experience once again.
I don't know how players are saying one is better than the other, because both seem entirely different to me, especially when it comes to game play. We got one dealing in a fantasy setting, where the other is a wow scifi setting.
Again, both are good to the player base they cater to and attract, but I can't see why people compare these 2 titles all the time. Just silly shit I guess that my game is better than yours.
There is definitely room for both titles for that certain type of gamer.

What are saying? Common sense and reason on mmorpg.com? You must be crazy!
In truth "better" is such a subjective and relative term that I can never understand why people debate it in the first place. Quite simply, I thought I would enjoy the heck out of ESO and I didn't. I didn't think I would like Wildstar, and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. I don't really know why, and I don't care. It's my entertainment and if it's putting a smile on my face, it doesn't need to be rationalised. All I can say is that Carbine mixed in a little magic somewhere.
I also enjoyed Wildstar more than ESO - right up until I hit that level cap for guest access. Since I'm not buying another game right now, and the startup cost on WS is too high, it'll be going on the back burner for a while.

He suddenly left Blizzard after Blizcon and is now working at Riot for League of Legends.
Know that. Just pointing out the "affect" that such developer interaction can have on the game.
No war intented. ESO is a great game, just didn't turn out to be mine as I expected. And vice versa with WS.

Whist I agree with you, you are not a special snowflake and had a 50/50 change at being right.
