The stuff I like (that I have done)

    Combat
    Class customization
    Battlegrounds
    Crafting
    Housing
    Settler path
Very VERY rare to find an invisible wall. Lots of Wide open areas to double jump and sprint around everything.
I enjoy the way the world is setup. There is a good variety of mobs pathing around and how they behave not just with you but with each other. There are lots of little camps and caves with their own mobs and a reason they are there. A lot of care went into making a game world that feels like its been there for a while.

The annoying stuff (that I have experienced)

About half of the questing feels very filler-like, errand boy tedium. Ive pretty much stopped doing quests altogether for now. Burned out on that quick.
The UI lags, which hurts in PvP
    No mouseover option or macro.
The music ranges from amazing, to clever but annoying, to oh my god stab my ears!
The graphics are....ok. Im playing FFXIV right now as well, and when I switch to that game its like holy crap Wildstar looks like ass(the bloated, and dilated leaking kind). But after 20 minutes or so playing, it doesn't look that bad.
Oh yeah and that tough guy voice that is over, well, everything, yeah that got old first day. Is there an option to turn him off?

I do like it.  I am one of those weird people that enjoy MMOs no matter what.  Some are pretty bad, though.  A bad MMO usually seems to be worse off than a bad game of any other genre, the way I think at least.

Wildstar is a great MMO, and even brings back some of the tools to merit having RPG in its title as well.  When you think of a classic 'MMO', Wildstar fits the bill and does a great job.

The game has all the features most people look for in an MMO plus some.  It's got quests, dungeons, raids, instances, housing, PVP (in many forms), great emotes and RP fluff.  Nothing very new, aside from Warplots are pretty unique.  These features are all solid.  This is where the game shines in my opinion, even more so than the combat.  If you enjoy MMORPGs and you are not looking for that next shiny, new hype then Wildstar has all the classic features!

The combat and voice commentator never gets old either, super kill!  HOLY #$%^^ you just leveled up!  Epic!

They did all the above very well and it can only get better from here on out.  As for artstyle, music, dialogue, etc.  I really enjoy it all.  It suits me, and my personality, and playstyle the best.  These are the parts that would be more about personal taste.

Was enjoying the leveling at a very slow pace. I can't stomach MMORPG's for very long anymore. Love OWPvP especially but figured I'd try the Battlegrounds (I am level 15). That is when I pretty much said I can't play this game. Wildstar has the worst, clusterf*** of a PvP system that I've ever seen. The combat, for one, is floaty and not as responsive as I'd like. The feedback as a Warrior is atrocious and feels like you're hitting "air" rather than enemies.

On top of that, the giant masses of red telegraphs everywhere is so irritating. Carbine had no clue how to make an effective PvP game.

Anyway, Wildstar convinced me within my friend key period to buy Deluxe... and on the same day I bought Deluxe I realized this game is going to be terrible. So I guess Carbine won this one.

I like the game but at the same time this game makes me think of quitting the whole genre at the same time...I'm a bit confused lol. I like the fact that its challenging most mmos aren't. I don't really like the pvp. Like what the guy said above as a warrior it really does feel like im just swinging my sword and hoping i get a hit i feel like im at a disadvantage. i kinda wanna switch to another class but im lvl 29. it took me a long time to get to lvl 29 lol. As much as others may like the leveling speed. I don't. Its the same type of quests as every other mmo and that bothers me a bit. The questing is what really makes me want to quit the genre because i know ALL MMOs are like this.

The only thing that i can say that is good about this game is the housing, the dungeons, and if the raids are like the dungeons the raids. thats about it those are the 3 things that make this game good. Otherwise ur looking at the same MMO that all the other developers are spitting out. The group content is very very good its unforgiving. You cant sit there and just play and watch tv or talk on the phone while running ur dungeons u gotta pay attention.

I like the fact that  there's things to do at ur house. You can set up dungeon teleports for ur friends to all just jump through. do your crafting do some gathering. If you think about other games like RIFT where all u do is decorate ur little space. Housing is great. It makes u feel like thats ur real mmo home i want to decorate it i want to put in upgrades so i can do ALL of my crafting there.. Set up a bank (i think they have a auction house to im not sure). In RIFT i made a dimension and was like "F*** it i hate beauty contests." this game has its pros and cons..Im just trying to get passed all the questing cuz the s*** is boring.

p.s to the english majors..sorry for the grammar

With fully telegraphed combat you technically are attacking the air hoping the enemy is in that space so they get hit too.  Warrior is also....underwhelming.  I generally play warrior type classes in all mmos but in WS i'm playing an engineer main.  Have my war to 19 but it's like I'm trying to force myself to like it.  It does get better as you unlock more abilities but will never change drastically from what I've seen and heard so far.

    As to something I like....

In all my years of playing mmorpgs I have never ever played a game that launches, logins, connects, etc as fast as Wildstar.  I can literally start on my desktop, click the icon, and be in game running around in 5 seconds.  As an altoholic that likes constantly mailing mats and items back an forth between characters having a 2 second character switch is great.  I guess it's a stupid thing to be excited about but I just can't think of a game that doesn't make me esc through splash screens or watch multiple load screens.

I'm enjoying so far my lvl 27 human male spellslinger. The game is very polished right from release and shipped with a ton af features.

    However..

The dev team who made the quests for the Whitevale region should GTFO from Carbine and the game industry altogether. Obnoxious design and distribution straight from the early days of MMO's with no internal or story telling coherence whatsoever. It's like everyone came up with an "out of the blue" quest line and they just threw all of them into the pot and voila..

I disagree. Go try TERA and tell me which combat actually feels good and which doesn't. So, I highly disagree with your comment about telegraphed combat. TERA did one thing right, which I've continually said, and that is combat. Almost the whole entire rest of the game is absolute poop but combat... man, give me a MMORPG with the content of ArcheAge and the combat of TERA, please.

I have a 60 Slayer and 60 Warrior in TERA so I'm a little bit familiar with how the melee classes feel in that game.

Anyway....what do you "highly disagree with"?  I agreed that it was like hitting air(and gave an example why I think so) and I referred to warriors as "underwhelming".  We can argue about something if you want but you'll have to be more specific.

"With fully telegraphed combat you technically are attacking the air hoping the enemy is in that space so they get hit too." Although, this line is technically correct, I'm not exactly sure what you were saying if you were agreeing with me. The difference between Wildstar's combat and TERA's combat is extremely evident. Also, since you have a 60 Slayer and Warrior, I'd find it hard to believe you could disagree with what I said. TERA's combat never felt like you were hitting air, yet it was a totally action oriented attack system, ie. you could whif attacks, miss if not aimed right, etc. If you missed in TERA, it felt that way, if you hit, the feedback let you know you hit.

Wildstar doesn't do that... at any level. The fact that the combat doesn't feel great probably contributes to your assessment that Warrior itself is underwhelming.

tl;dr Didn't mean to get you to think I was arguing, I just don't like the "telegraphed combat is hitting air hoping the enemy is there" because that's obvious... doesn't mean there shouldn't be relevant feedback (a la TERA) to let the player know you've hit something significant.

why not ? I was planning to start with an esper. Would like to read your reasons.

Their "R" power really isn't very exciting. Probably the least exciting so much that I forget to use it. The skills as a whole feel somewhat clunky? Like the game favors movement a lot but you get rooted in place with Esper on their basic attack and it's for quite a significant duration. I feel like I should be more ranged than I am because it's hard to keep my distance at all.

At level 50 a spellslinger is INCREDIBLY good at PvP and dishing out damage......I cant catch one either. Espers are more towards pve but can be used in PvP, however they are not as mobile as you would think. They are almost like a sniper. Pick a spot, do tons of damage and then be forced to move or die horribly.

As for your previous question with housing. Certain items increase how much EXP you get when resting there. This is even good at lvl 50 as you can still level up to get elder points/gems. You can almost make things like a training dummy area for DPS check, entrances to raids or even a portal to your favorite zone.

The customization is quite good also. You can change just about anything in and around your house.I hope they add holiday event items for housing...that would be awesome. I haven't quite explored everything there is in housing yet (As it can get expensive the higher quality things you get) but there is certainly plenty to do there.

Oh yeah, someone made a jumping puzzle on my server at their home...Its pretty fun and I think this will expand as more people hit max and mess around with their home.

Like it?  Sort of.  Love it?  No.  Not at all, but then again, I plan to play the game more thoroughly should it ever come way down in price or get rid of the outdated sub model.  In advance, I don't care if you like sub models.  I just don't care for them and that's final.

As far as Theme Parks are concerned WS is done really well, it has great production quality and the originality that is there is fairly capable.  With that being said I cancelled my Subscription Yesterday, not because I find it to be a bad game but because I can't stand quest grinding (or more aptly Fed-Ex Tasking) as a means for progression, no matter how well done.  And secondly I think I am growing apart from MMO's.  Waiting on AA (but the questing is just as bad) & EQN.  Till then I'm patiently waiting for a new Asheron's Call spiritual successor and diddling around in ARPG's and CCG's like Hearthstone.  I guess my appetite for gaming is down to small doses because that's about all I can stand to play of any game currently.  I'd rather sit and watch Twitch or Movies on Netflix more then actually play.

Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!

Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!

Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!

I LOVE contradictions... Negating statements since the dawn of proclaiming them.

On topic: I voted "yes", but it's a weak affirmation. WildStar is fun, yes; packed with polished content, yes; brought back that old MMO feel from a number of years back, kinda. I'm kinda waiting for the other shoe to drop, WildStar may be too good to be true.

Yeah, this game is a good surprise indeed.

Now i'm seeing it for myself, got a buddy key, been playing a Stalker, still early lvls though. But the game is already fun ! The combat feels good, i love the art style, the game is soooo polished they did a really great job. It doesn't even feels like a new released mmo ! Everything is so smooth.

The best part, the game has personality. The game stands on its own, from the beginning, the UI is different enough, the mechanics, movement,. I cant point why but even using old formulas the game felt genuine and thats speaks A FUCKING LOT about a mmo. Is almost the same feel i got from Guild Wars 2 and FFXIV, in terms of originality, but imo, wildstar seems more fun and deeper.

I hope this feeling don't fade away as the lvls goes by.

    nope

the quests + story were awful

combat was good, but the servers are so slow and unresponsive the combat never feels good. even though i have a 150mbps connection, enemies will often just stand there even though they should be dead, and there will be a weird  delay (i had less than 40 ms ping)

most the classes were garbage as well, the warrior/ stalker were 100% generic classes

the housing was nice, but seemed like a half-baked idea. some of the housing stuff didnt even work

this game entirely reminds me of a f2p (and yet still) cancelled mmo called  Free Realms. the overly cheery / whimsical nature, the badly made cartoon models, etc etc. its just cheap quality and you can see this mmo going f2p within a year tops. after looking at all the great games coming out soon, i cant imagine spending 60 dollars on this game, ontop of monthly fees.

also lack of voice acting and cutscenes ruins it, its like 2014 and we're still looking at walls of text well never read. half the quests in the game were so completely pointless
