not sure about the wagon thing but you cam make all the hereafter stones you want in game for a bit of nothing. a coupl eof stone blocks a lvl 1 can craft and some wedges from the general merchant that sell for a couple of silver each. There is even a lvl 10 quest which instructs you how. In it the NPC quest giver gives you the items you need to craft them

Cash shop is just a black hole for lazy and stupid peoples money

Am i wrong?

Actually until they remove the restrictions on labor, and labor potions in general, as well as the restrictions on loot and the restrictions on gathering this game will remain very much P2W. People keep putting forth the nonsense that it's possible to gain gold without a farm, well it's not not without months of farming for the same result. this isn't Korea.

    No way dudes.

GW2 sells advantages. The vast majority of B2Ps or F2Ps sells advantages (Some of en sells power, like weapons and stuff). Even WOW sells advantages, and ya know, no one cares.

Now some trolls just come here to spread the hate and say lies and no senses.

TRION CS is good enough to me. Better that

    Hold on a sec here.

You are saying that it's acceptable for other titles to sell advantages and get a pass from this community, but because AA doesn't get the same pass that what everyone is saying must be lies?

If you are calling someone a liar, you'd better be quick to point out what they said that was untrue. (You haven't done that)

I'm calling "liar" people saying this game is "P2W". Liar or completely ignorant regarding the term.

But I will not waste my time explaining, I'll just play the game without spending a penny, and challenge (pvp) anyone who has spent a fortune of $ in the game. Against facts there are no arguments.

ArcheAge sells advantages, but does not sell power. That is all.

So, come back and let me know when you are dominating the game on your F2P account. I'll gladly take back what I said.

yes you need a second income adventuring but there are other ways to make money ingame without ever gathering a crop. Will the smart business farmers be richer. It's just like in the real world, you choose  your fate. If you want to play a solo game, this one isn't for you, you cannot be a one person army

Stupid people are really going to hate this one. Those people should just stick to WoW or one of it's many imitators

    What's with the Ad-Homs?

Come on guys, In this thread, I have made many statements that proponents of AA should be able to challenge if the game is not as I am claiming it to be. Yet none of those statements have been dis-proven. Instead it's this kind of Ad-Hom? How predictable.

Honestly you're calling that an Ad-hominem attack? It wasn't meant in that way...As I said I meant nothing against you, just that the statement in question was more a wisecrack, in response to APOCs post which was the same thing. Everything I said was about your statement... That's not an ad hominem...

You agreed with my earlier assessment of your stance btw...

I like this idea, though I'm 99% sure it won't happen. Trion's already promised founders pack buyers that they'll get X amount of credits on launch, so if those credits weren't usable then they'd have a PR problem almost immediately. :(

and since i want to gather/craft (a focus of the game afer all) the game is pretty much dead without that space

so no crafting boxes or bags or other forms of storage?

You can craft chests to put in your house to increase storage, just not the largest ones (50 slots). You can also buy the expansion scrolls with gold from people who put them on the auction house.

EVERY mainstream journo or website has been promoting ArcheAge nonstop. When I started spamming this shady business of this extremely aggressive F2P model, to raise awareness because from the official forum a large and vocal part started "regretting" their $150 dollars I knew something was wrong, there was quite allot of denial. Don't expect journos, cause that is what the MMO scene has; journos; journalists who get bribed under the table to keep things in low profile.

Do you know any journo who even criticized, even slightly, Trion's handling of this game since start let alone its business model? Nope, none, zero, nata. Why is that? Oh I wonder.

As soon as the dust is set though, THEN you are going to see 24e34r39293 articles criticizing ArcheAge's F2P model because it would be then when the money has dry out.

I don't remember writing that at all. :X

I've criticized Trion on my livestreams at Twitch.tv/ArcheAge, which might be why I don't get invited to visit them at their HQ like other popular streamers (Bikeman, Nekrage, etc.) have. If you believe I'm on Trion World's bankroll, think again. Couldn't be further from the truth. :D

I totally refuse to pay for things like inventory slots with real money...extra money or not. The more I think about it, the more I now will decide to NOT  play this game. While $2 for 10 slots seems like a drop in the bucket...it adds up pretty quickly and the value you get for that $2 is not enough to make it worth the cost.

Actually, as an Alpha member I can probably buy a lot of inventory slots with my store cash they gave us, but like you I am a bit put off that as a patron subscriber I have to pay extra cash just to get additional inventory slots, an essential service as far as I'm concerned.

Still hoping there's a way to buy extra slots in game at launch with gold.

The whole point of labor potions according to some is that LP keep everyone on equal ground.  Well to be on equal grounds you actually have to be a patron AND pop 2 potions a day.  A 40% increase in LP per day is not trivial.

No, the real point of LPs is for monetization.  Faster LP regeneration for patrons is a good thing.  LP pots on top of that is bad.  Allowing them to be sold in the AH makes the p2w declaration a grey area because the crafter can buy the potions with gold, but in order for a crafter to be on an equal playing field with other top crafters, someone has to pay rl money.

They felt that people would want more LP but instead of simply adjusting LP rates, they decided to sell an item in the cash shop to give LP. This is digging potholes into your game and then trying to sell your players gravel to smooth out the experience and it's complete bullshit. People are arguing about whether it's P2W when the important bit is that it's a ripoff, plain and simple.

  • kinkyJalepenokinkyJalepeno Member UncommonPosts: 1,044

    Good article.....

I'm a patron and love the game but the LP pots need fixing..  They give 1,000 LP with a 12 hour cooldown.

Problem is players can roll 6 characters and grab a pot on each..  Thats 12,000 LP every 24 hours...

If LP is account wide, then so should the cooldown...  Problem solved..

Oh and there's a lot of disinformation going on in this thread..  Seems most of you nay sayers have never been in game..

I see nothing wrong with trion f2p setup, just take a look at their other game rift. I play rift and have never once spent any of my real money in the cashshop.

If they can keep the cash shop under control like they did with rift then I feel all will be fine. Now if you want to see a bad F2P setup then go log into SWTOR. Even as a subscriber you need to pay to unlock items, pvp and other content.

Holy cow to much bitterness i taste inhere....

Trion isnt forcing you to pay a sub or spend cash in the cashshop people, you can walk away and go back to what you where playing before this one.

I dint have this much fun since the old EQ / WoW days and big wars / gutfights in Eve Online.

The freedom you have to make stuff happen with your friends / guild / alliance is realy nice.

And soon you get to create your own faction wich opens up something realy awesome.

The whole cash shop doesnt even bother me as i dont see a single pay to win item inthere.

Unlike most crybaby's here who think if someone levels faster or get gear faster is a pay to win mechanic........hilarious folks :)

Studio's need to earn cash - news at eleven

And if a sucker pays 500 euro a month on fluffy crap in the cashshop good move well played man, you supported an awesome game but ingame you are mortal and have a place in the foodchain where the dog eat dog mechanics kicks in and all that money doesnt count for nothing.
