I haven't followed the game but I'm interested enough to ask.
So why is house ownership so important?
Since it is a level based game doesn't that make any houses not in a safe zone become a spot for lots of unchallenging pvp?
This I find confusing so that's why I'm asking about house ownership.

I can live without a house but i like to have a farm so im hable to produce sutff i need and even make some gold with the rest.
For those who want to be crafters a house is a must have, its where you place the "craft tables".
Farms are whats important, theyre the best source of revenue in the game. Theyre important for growing and managing resources you need to craft, since crafting yields the best gear in the game. Those same resources are also important for pvp.
Sure you can go without a house, but youll be missing out on a core selling point of the game
P.S. Dont forget the bed that gives you 100 lp a day. which after a while adds up!
Well theres the added value of the extra farming space on the farmhouse version of a house. Plus every house has a tiny bit of extra farming area as well.
The reason you see people racing to place housing facades around the world is simply to reserve space for their eventual farm. 95% of those house will never actually be built.
Farms are massive resource generators. You can farm pretty much anywhere, but only on your own farms are crops safe from predators.
