I'm really sorry you only managed to get in for 2 hours of play but I have to say this.
Two hours and your 36/50. Does nobody else see this as a problem with modern MMO's, this mad dash to the level cap? I mean WTF? Talk aboutthe instant gratification generatrion, is this really what people want today?
What problem? That levels are not considered long-term goals anymore? Nope, no problem at all. Long leveling only make sense when it is interesting, if game doesnt have it, leveling is good for tutorial, nothing more.
Maybe the devs should make the damn things interesting then. Instead of the generic crap we're currently being fed.
Well I'd really love to see more developers allow for stat allocation again. It allows for much more unique build. However, stat allocation confuses the current MMO audience which is why they typically steer clear of that type of system.
However, then we get into the debate of Vertical vs Horizontal progression and many of the current audience hates the treadmill.
I definitely agree, players should be allowed to fail again. Then you re-roll (or pay some outrageous amount of in game gold to respec) and do it again.
It also gives you a reason to have multiple characters of the same class, because they different stats/builds.

Yeah, I just started to think about how little I've been able to play since the game went F2P this week, I literally played for 2 hours.
Between 5+ hour queues and the 6 hour maintenance periods every day I just can't get into the game. I logged onto the game this morning mined 5 Iron nodes and was kicked for another maintenance.
My goal was to literally be 50 this weekend but I simply couldn't get in the game, lol. Oh well I'm at 36 anyways....
I finally got online after getting lucky and logging in right after server maintenance this morning. After doing so I would disagree with the title of your post. The game seems an interesting mix of traditional MMO like WoW with some more crafting/housing elements thrown in and open pvp which isnt too different than the pvp servers in their heyday in WoW and a few GW2 elements incorporated.
Fun and a decent MMO once you get past the queue, but I dont see anything mind blowing here that really sets this MMO apart. It just seems to do a somewhat above average job of combining a few of the best elements from MMO, but hardly groundbreaking.
It will do well for a month then fade into obscurity, ala Wildstar. That's not even taking into consideration the terrible launch and no endgame content.
Trion should either make 1-2 patron only servers or just kick off F2P players for patrons. You're paying for 30 days of service that you cannot control the use of, which is pretty bad....

But a lot of people want to play MMOs as they want to progress one chracter for quite a bit. If you make it so that people have to constantly reroll, then the game feels like Diablo 2 not an MMO.
