I came back to SWTOR a couple of months ago and I've been having a good time slowly leveling up characters by playing out the class story and all the secondary stories and exploring the planets and doing a lot of miscellaneous things as I go.
I HATE the idea of 12x XP for class quests. Now you can super level by focusing on just one aspect of the game. It perpetuates the sad idea that when playing MMOs you need to level as fast as possible to max level when in fact, this is the last game where that is true.
And as a newer player who does not have rich high level main characters it will be a nightmare trying to keep characters geared and mods updated while turbo leveling.
Of course I could just not pre-order and thereby opt out of the 12x XP. But once a game shifts like this everythnig changes. With most people leveling at ultra speed it will be almost impossible to find people to do heroics and flashpoints at low levels. And the cool player you partner with today could be 5 or 10 levels higher than you tomorrow.
I see this as nothing more than a cynical attempt to entice F2P players into subscribing and pre-ordering.

For us altoholics 12x EXP is awesome thing . To get it you have to pre-order the game before November 2nd. Simply don't do it.
This will be SWTOR's "lich king moment", which is a very good thing. I have never killed a raid boss with such purpose in all of my MMO years than when I first downed the LK in WoW....if this xpac is done well, I might have a new favorite raid boss.

Same. I resubbed to both games a few weeks ago. Just got the pre-ordered SWTOR xpac, logged on and completed an early level class quest to test it out. I jumped up 2 levels and had a pile of skills to train up from one turn-in.
A dream come true for this game. Will be able to mainly level through class quests, and won't have to worry about having to space-bar my way through the side quests anymore. Quick and easy jump to level cap and I'll be ready for new content when xpac hits.
That 12x xp jump alone was worth it. Damn fine purchase I made for $20, if I do say.
Swtor is my 2nd best game ever made, after Wow only. I'm only sorry now it is being released so close to Wod I will be unable to play for at least few next months. :-(

Standard expansion plot 102.A:
mmorpg with two factions must unite against a common threat.
rinse, repeat.
never seen this before....
You mean standard plot for stories which involve two factions?

Have they upgraded the awful Engine yet ?
I quit after trying mass PVP the game tanked so hard and showed its limitations.
But i would love to play again if they sorted out the engine.
