At least with a sub game they know that people won't tolerate bullshit and leave. With anet we have no recourse but to buy our own lube so our assholes don't get too stretched out from getting bent over a table at Anets will. - Hrimnir

at least i got his first point . he says that nobody said to him that his english is very bad and he cant speak english inside the game.
1. Best theme, story, lore and quests around
2. Because of this trailer: http://youtu.be/7yMIcKmsbzk
3. Really fun dungeons with very little trash
4. Super deep deck-based combat system
5. Overall, a nice/mature community
6. Quests that require use of brain (investigations)
7. Non-combat quests (sabotage)
8. Gear only takes you so far - playing skill and decent decks are necessary
9. Game treats you as if you have an IQ higher than 12
10. Clothing completely separate from gear; complete freedom to make your own look
11. Fun events (going on this weekend)
12. Best Halloween events period.
13. The game is actually challenging, but not over the top difficult
14. Best cut scenes and NPCs, hands down
I agree with all of this.
Here's a couple more, as well as some criticisms:
15. Great RP Community and devs who actually pay attention to RP
16. Game looks great on DX11 max settings if you have the rig, but see criticisms
Criticisms:
1. Very little handholding, though the community steps up pretty nicely here
2. Due to the lack of handholding, few learn how to create a solid deck/build, (see all "spamming 1-1-1-1-2" complaints about the game).
3. The game could really use a much better intro and tutorial. At least let get 2 weapons into their hands and teach the basics about active/passive combos (this is a side effect of a non-class/non-cookie-cutter build system, but you've got to orient people)
4. Combat animations could be better/smoother and use more variety
5. Laggy on lower end machines/cards
6. Major problems with Win8.1, DX11 and Nvidea cards (staying on Win 7 or Win8/DX9 addresses most the issues, but still)
7. Endgame can be grindy.
I'll agree the biggest thing tsw could use is a better tutorial. But I love the freedom to be able to make my own build, imo this is more a spiritual successor to GW1 than GW2 is. I also enjoy the investigation and sabotage quest's. Character animation's aren't the best but still ok in my book.
I'm on an older pc so I have to run a low setting's, but the game still looks pretty good to me.
Cheers, I bought the game recently but haven't had a chance to play it yet. People seem to talk about the game in the past tense a lot so I wondered if it was too late to start out with.
Nah, it's fine -- there's a ton of people running around, was just on last night. Check out the cross-zone/server Sanctuary channel (type /chat join #Sanctuary) or the event chat (type /chat join #event) and talk with folks if you're interested in getting a group run going. The thing about TSW is that it can be a lot of fun solo, but it's also pretty easy to group up as well when you feel like it.
Way too late.
And Ill give you the whys

Take a look in these two threads. They are the honest opinions of players that the people in this thread didn't want you to see.
Think about that.
Probably you're over-thinking it a bit (though I mostly agree with Ortwig's list. Only my favourite trailer is the men's room one), it's much simpler:
- it's Ragnar (that would cover the setting, the writing, characters, etc)
- the Wheel (that would cover theory-crafting, combat, etc)
- the community (except the elitist )
- and KG. (ok, that's a bit overlapping with characters above, but... KG rocks )
On the negative side I also agree with Ortwig, it's the grind at the end. I'd love to have much more Issues and side stories, and not more grind mechanics...
It's mostly just one person who apparently had a mad-on for TSW and really, really doesn't want people playing it for some reason.
If you're going to play TSW, play it for the stories, and the challenge of leveling/gearing your character. Picking the right skill combinations, getting enough materials to craft the gear or to buy the gear, etc.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
I said I wouldn't tell anyone their opinion is wrong.
But this is a matter of fact. There were at least 50 people who posted their problems with TSW.
Your post here and posts in that thread strongly hints that you are unwilling to accept that the game has problems and people legitimately dislike it.
I'll just leave this and this here.
For people who don't like this game, the two of you sure spend an awful lot of time posting about it.
I don't think anyone in any of these threads is saying that the game doesn't have any issues. But the things the game does right far outweighs the things it does wrong.
Hats off to you.
That's so spot on.
