Chalk me up as another returning player. TBC was the last time I seriously played WoW, and I'm loving the garrisons, the exploration-based questing, the "rare monsters", Archeology (I know, not new, but it is to me), and the fact that I can level crafting from 1 in Draenor. Lots of little touches to the entire open world experience that make the game feel brand new.
It's still a theme park, but it certainly cements WoW's place as the best of its kind. We'll see how long the luster lasts.
Dang it !! All these great comments are going to make me break my "No buy expansion for $49.99 creed". I miss those TBC days and even Lich, but I just haven't felt that an expansion is worth that much money and with all the issues. You all are changing my mind!
It is worth it. Warlords was my last chance for Wow, and they didn't disappoint. I haven't even come close to clearing anything, but I can say this, they got the old feel back. Exploring matters, there is no more being drug by your nose through a zone. Garrisons offer a different level of play, It's really something worth checking out if you liked TBC and WoTLK but thought Cata and Mop were steps in the wrong direction.

And,
Can hunters use melee weapons again? Can warriors use bows, crossbows, and guns again?
The talents haven't changed since last xpac, and no, hunter's can't use melee, and warriors can't use ranged.

If you like questing and can get into the storyline of WC then it's looking like it'll be a fun xpac.
I love the Warcraft world and story. This is why when WoW launched it did something for me that no other MMO can match. Seeing the amazing world of warcraft in an RPG was just epic.
I guess this is why I always come back for each expansion even if I don't stay much longer after I am done with the questing and dungeons.
Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.
Current "expected" issues aside. I am having a total blast! Definitely the best WoW expansion so far!
It exceeded my expectations. After all these years, I am actually having fun playing WoW again.
I'm on an older server with a massive population, so I'm struggling through incredibly long queue times, but from the time that I've actually been able to spend in-game, I'd have to agree as well.
This is, by far, the best WoW expansion and rivals the original game as a truly immersing environment.
I don't see garrisons eliminating the community, I see it as Blizzard recognizing the time long-time players have and giving us the ability to accomplish a lot in a little amount of time. This also give us a strategic level of play along with the usual tactical fighting.
This is the first expansion I've played where I want to do everything in a zone. I'm only level 91 and look forward to exploring, questing and building my garrison and I don't care when I level - Wow is that entertaining!
I only subscribed back to this game a month or so ago and to be honest I DID have fun until they started the HUGE NERFING TO PRIEST CLASS with patch 6.0.2.
...
They nerfed everyone to an extent I believe. Came with the ability pruning.
Tonight i watched a stream of someobody who had a DK NPC fighting along with him -and that NPC really did some damage. Perhaps they nerfed everyone to not have you steamroll over everything once you'll be having these NPCs with you.
WoD is simply the best expac in my opinion. Questin is fun and the zones look amazing. In Gorgrond, the graphics kinda reminded me of PlanetSide two, Very sweet looking terrain and beautiful seamless world. This is a great expansion.

Honestly, every xpack has felt great at release(bugs aside). When people start hitting max is when problems start popping up. Usually we are talking about one month is one breaking point, another is usually about 3 months in. With the extremely shortened leveling experience, WoD will probably hit those points earlier. The big question is how long will it remain fun.
How conveniently that omits the major reasons of the enitre fiasco. Bad coding, poor implementation, exessive downscaling of hardware in consequence of year long player loss as always to the point of barely not being capable to survive the usual expansion onslaught and poor planning. A latter mentioned ingame issues in the review are consquence of that, not just mere "overcrowding and DDOS attacks"
Those little DDOS attacks they pointed fingers are a joke of an excuse for the mess the are supposed to explain. And don't come at me with the usual "they didn't expect that much player" PR bullcrap or your delusion of a polished game. 5 expansion and always the same problems and same lies from the PR monster Blizzard. This time just much worse with heavy software problems. Downscaling global server capacities so much even year long low populated realms get locked regularly or permanently with queues isn't overcrowding. That is jst underperforming hard and software. On many non-dead server the queues are longer than the number of player inside the game bottlenecked into the same very few zones and instances. Don't lie they didn't raise them back until yesterday/today in US/EU.

Do you play WoD or just hating the game?
Some people don't feel fulfilled unless they're angry all the time.

No to mention that everything has been pretty much fixed since Saturday morning.
Blizzard literally replaced all of their server hardware overnight to keep up with demand....who does that lol.
But there is something wrong with all of this. Blizzard makes me sick the way they clumsily handled the problems, which are still VERY prominent. I will wait 2 weeks or so and then try again, until then I am refunding in rage and finding something else to play. Problem is too many devs suck assholes these days.

Well...they replaced their server hardware overnight....i have never seen an MMO do that after 1 day of queues...

Im calling extreem bullshit on this lmao.
ALL issues affecting player's ability to login and play the game have been fixed as of yesterday morning. To somehow claim that you have "only been able to play for an hour" since launch, pretty much outs you as a troll lmao.
"Blizzard makes me sick the way they clumsily handled the problems"...they f**kin replaced their servers overnight....which fixed the login problems....tell us more on how Blizz is terrible for pretty much fixing every issue in 2 days after launch...
I think somebody is mad that their MMO of choice just emptied out lol.

Well you will be waiting for nothing. No queues for me on Wyrmrest Accord and there are no complaints in chat. Just folks having fun and loving it.
Blizzard did an awesome job with this expansion, it is my favorite of all of them.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
Some servers are locking...cause yes servers do have population caps. Much like when it started and people could not make characters a certain servers.
I haven't seen queues like this since vanilla WoW, MAYBE WOTLK had huge queues...don't remember BC. Cataclysm didn't have much queues, and I skipped Panderia entirely.
But, even with the normalized server caps (back to normal as far as I know)...I haven't seen queues on Emerald Dream in ages. On a weekend, they went up to 6k (this was yesterday, Saturday)...I never saw that in Cataclysm and I think even higher than in WOTLK.
If the queues are anything to go by (and they are far more accurate than Xfire or that crap) (and other servers had bigger queues on Saturday than even ED)...I'm guessing Blizzard just saw a HUGE boost in subscriptions.

The queues will get a bad rap for a week or so. Whats important right now is that this is actually a very good expansion, not just your basic release to keep your population numbers from dropping. The actual expansion is going to get a lot of new players and old ones back, just from word of mouth.
I was excited about a new expansion, but this has surpassed my expectations. The world is much more detailed, the story is a good one, and I don't feel pushed or pulled in a certain direction. The Garrison is the biggest surprise of all. I keep playing to upgrade it! It is something new and I don't know what I'm really doing, but it is very fun.

Ok.
You missed the best part.

For the first time I m not playing a WoW expansion from day 1, but my friends comments about it are superb. I ll see if i can hold away for long
Anyway i m happy that ppl are having great time playing a mmo

It is just how Revan is for tor universe.
SWTOR+EAWare : profit going down? bring back revan.
Blizzard+WoW : players leaving even after outstanding content update? give them "BIG BAD UGLY ORCS".
Start counting coins while the suckers open their wallet.
Boobs are LIFE, Boobs are LOVE, Boobs are JUSTICE, Boobs are mankind's HOPES and DREAMS. People who complain about boobs have lost their humanity.
You nailed it...people are enjoying themsevles because they are suckers...and err, Orcs.....
I guess the butthurt is to be expected considering WoW prob just emptied out quite a few games.
So what you are trying to say is, a company makes a product people like and they buy it. hmmm, good analogy.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
