They have done stuff to try and curb botters and spammers almost every patch. They have a way to go, but come one.

Did you say "slowly"?
That is the only part I don't understand. And I think it goes beyond just PR. I've never seen such a turnaround in perception of a company in such a short time.
The cracks started to appear with Rift f2p, but mostly that was positively received, it got worse with Defiance, and just plummeted to new depths every week since AA.

All spelling and typographical errors are based soely on the fact that i just dont care. If you must point out my lack of atention to detail, please do it with a smile.
I did a quick google search for the start of the quote, and the only hits I got were MMORPG.com and some one posting the MMORPG.com article on the official forums.
yes, I know a google search is not the definitive answer, but it was a start. now my work here is done.

I bet that pesky 10% Discount for Marketplace purchases incentive given for all pre-launch Founder and credit packs is looking like a drop in the bucket about now... yet they refuse to give it. How about it Scott, want to generate some goodwill for a change?
Before ArcheAge launched in September, Trion Worlds offered three different “Patron” pre-order packages for purchase. The most expensive one would grant players access to the Alpha servers, but the Patron status itself was supposed to come with a 10% discount all on marketplace purchases. There was no catch, no fine print. If you paid for Patron status, you got the discount. That was supposed to be it, but somehow things have gotten out of hand.
Patron players noticed very quickly after launch that they weren’t getting the promised 10% discount on marketplace purchases and started a thread on the official forums to push Trion Worlds to act. Trion promised to do something for players as soon as they could.
Now Trion’s finally decided on a course of action: give a retroactive 10% bonuses on purchased gems (credits) bought after launch. Trion says in their announcement that they chose this course of action because the actual promised discount would have taken uncomfortably long to implement. That seems like a weak excuse to me, but perhaps in time the full 10% discount on items will come through.

Although I never got into Rift much, I remember hearing constantly about how great of a company Trion was with their management of Rift. It was one of the reasons I decided to get Defiance. Then when Defiance came out it was like "OK, what is supposed to be so great about these guys?".... tons of bugs, very long delays in fixing issues, the rampant PvP issues due to client side (lol),
And yeah it seems to have pretty much gone downhill from there. Even with Trove, which is a pretty cool little game with some potential but it is so lacking in several ways. I had fun playing it for like 2 days and already bored. You would think they could have at least come up with more than like 20 mobs to fight without just reusing them over and over again only scaled to higher levels. I mean crap, they didnt even bother to at least give the higher level ones so much as a different color or slightly different skin like most games do.
LOL my 24 hour ban didn't even last 24 hours. I guess these bans were just more PR bullshit. Thanks for all the free shit morons, maybe try making a game that isn't a broken piece of garbage.
9:30pm Eastern time and not one single server is at HIGH population. People continue to leave the game due to poor decisions by Trion and Mr. Hartman continues to ignore it and push out more BS. Sounds about right for Corporate America.

Scott Hartsman just hopped over Cliff Blazinski as #1 on my list of developer/publisher execs to punch in the face ON SIGHT. What a dishonest (or extremely ignorant/inept) d-bag. He needs his brain rattled.

Not to be like that but how do you suggest that they stop botters and spammers..? Because i am sure that game developers all over the world are curious to know your secret.
You make it sound like its rocket science. All it require is spending a bit of time on it (yes that cost money). The hard way is making behaviour diagnostics and automated software to track botting. The easy way is manually and visually use one employee to spot, click, ban bots ( it is not hard to spot ).. And it only needs a little eula change so that the dev does not need to proove botting. When a sufficient number of botters have been banned, it will start to get too risky or too bothersome to bot atleast for the majority.
Ofcourse making a game free (little consequence for getting caught), with repeatable mechanic, simplistic gameplay, and a way to change currency to money officially and not.. All these things are creating a good botting environment. This is no secret for the developer, just a design decision. And lets not forget, bots make good customers, so the problem needs to be huge before a dev bans customers.. Proven time and again in numerous titles.

You could use an APEX to get credits without actually using the APEX. So you just bought one and passed it around between all your friends and everyone got as many credits as they wanted.
still have no source for the original information.

You used the apex and then immediately took a portal to mirage and came through with the credits and your apex still in inventory. From what people say, there's also a dupe for the apex. Trion has fucked this game, but they're fucking their reputation on top of that with their responses to this.

That is a total and complete exaggeration !
It's only 1 year at 8 hours per day !
Get your facts straight before posting complete misinformation...
Just some APEX was giving double the credits it was supposed too.
Loooooooool
Best response ever.

Without a source for the quote, I'm thinking mmorpg.com was trolled. There's nothing on the forums or reddit (so far) with any word from Hartsman.
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
