Then you must be playing on different servers. Server showing "High" doesn't mean anything, since they just lowered the limits. Our guild lost around 80% of players in the last two weeks and other guilds are at similar figures. I only log in anymore to do farms once a day and pay the taxes, so I can give the few people left in guild some heritage when I leave on 19th. But they are so overloaded with land already that they will probably just take the gold :P

They lowered the limits earlier in the day yesterday to help with server stability. By last night the server caps had been returned to normal. I'm on Aranzeb NA and I constantly see other players wherever I go.
I was playing WOW for a day and then went back to play AA , it was about that time I realised how bad the game engine is . It just felt really bad compared to WOW .
Now I thought yeah must be my computer right ? So I turned the settings down super low and I was getting easily 60 FPS , But it still felt like crap moving around etc .
Cant even run this game with SLI because everything on screen flickers not that it would matter . I got used to it being bad and when I played WOW which you must admit Blizzard got it right movement wise.
So yeah that's what pushed me over the edge in the end.
MMORPG are being paid advertising fee by Trion , why would you crap on your customer by printing bad press about them
This is the saddest most overused line of bullshit on this site.

Kano is right, I'm sure MMORPG allows free advertising to everyone. LOL

The virtual absence of any action on this board and the minimal news impact is a pretty strong hint that the playerbase has absolutely cratered. I'd feel more sorry for the remaining players, but then I go to the forums and see lots of posters mocking and attacking people who lost their land because they were locked out of the servers, or who were banned due to latency flags (in servers so unstable that they had to shut them down for 3+ days because of ....latency issues.) Usually people have at least some sympathy for other players who got a raw deal from the game through no fault of their own. Instead the official boards come across as a collection of sociopaths gleeful at other peoples misery.
Add in the predatory financing model and, I have to admit thinking that it couldn't happen to a more deserving company.

Just because you make a living from ads does not mean you have sold your integrity too.
Read this sites Defiance review - what happened there?
If you really believe this - you are accusing every writer here for being a crook essentially.
That's pretty mesased up - because its totally false.
Only the Sith deal in absolutes... LOL
First your position is that this site does not make money from the ads and now your position is they do make money but they dont show any favoritism because that would mean every single writer is a crook. Is it really out of the realm of possibilities to believe that Bill proposed doing a story about the outage and the owners of this site told him no and used some excuse because they knew it would reduce revenue a bit?
I dont think this is what really happened but I also dont think everyone who makes money from this website is a saint. I guarantee you that at one time or another a story was killed before going public due to its possible effect on advertising dollars. But you continue to like in Fairy land where there are no crooks in the world, Trion is the best managed game company and Archeage is the greatest game in the world. I would honestly join you there is I could.

Also keep in mind that bad news about AA and Trion has become a daily business for month. If this site would cover those every time, people would complain about nothing else being featured and the latest news charts being occupied by AA topics only.
Also, most of the time these issues only get covered in an article by some freelance writer and very rarely by this site's staff. So, for bad news getting some coverage the OP probably has to wait for some freelance write-up.
However, people on the forums already do a good job to constantly post about the latest issues and Trion just keeps them coming. Guess we haven't really missed a thing so far.
Hard for me to believe the lack of AA news on the latest Archeage screwup is because of Archeage paid advertising. The last few archeage articles on this site were rather negative. Hell, they barely resemble news articles at this point and are more like forum rants from disgruntled players now. And I can't blame them for no longer being serious about Archeage. As mentioned in this thread, if they made a news article every time Archeage dropped the ball and screwed up, we'd be seeing a news article every week on Archeage.
As it is, I'm under the impression they just gave up on the game. Really, it's kinda "Another economy destroying dupe/exploit/screw up/server shutdown at Archeage. Coming up next, the latest traffic report! And now for the weather!" by now.

I think it's probably because not many people care anymore. THere was a time when we used to get lots of articles on AA's failings. I guess people lost interest as there is only so many timies a game can fail before even spectacular screw-ups don't surprise people.

I think you are right about a part of it. I mean, it is fun to watch a trainwreck but after a while it gets old. I think some of it is that the MMO industry continues to disappoint and make stupid mistakes but if that is the focus of all the MMO sites, then how much longer will it be until we see a reduction in the MMO industry? I think this site is a bit bias with many more positive articles than negative but I also think there are many other sites out there that more than make up for the difference. I am glad that this site does not jump on the hate-train but on the other hand, rating almost every game between a 6 and 8 does make this site the "Hello Kitty" of MMO gaming sites.

Those who still play ArcheAge will know of its downtime even without mmorpg.com reporting it.
Those who don't play ArcheAge will assume the game has some problems because it's the norm that ArcheAge has problems, and prefer articles about things they didn't already know.

that's what the most people in game in my server, were too ... it's not only in forums .... and bad thing is, trino caters and promote this kind of behaviour (they call it "emergent gameplay") ..... also the game gives a lot of tools (some legit, some bugs) to be douche and greifer (and i am not talking about pvp)
All-time fave : City of Heroes/Villains
Played and returning from time to time : GW2, Tera, CO

The obvious explanation is that another party simply payed MMORPG more to bash Archeage than Trion/XL did for good publicity.
Go down there and tell them that if I hear Gangnam style one more time, there will be trouble.

And the obvious conclusion is that this explanation is laughable at best. No one needs to pay for bad press on Archeage - Archeage does a good enough job of creating its own bad press.

The last article bashing Archeage was about castle sieges, which was something so bad that even the white knights at least said "It needs improvement."

Anyways I quit this game for good , uprooted all my land , deleted character .
#1 Reason. The game engine is garbage .
