So? Yes it does and that's a good thing.
The game was designed by ex ArcheAge developers so its basically ArcheAge with action combat.
Crafting and farming use stamina points (just like labor in AA) - you can make trade packs which go on your back and slow you down - the further away you bring them the more gold you make.
Etc...
If you played AA you will feel at home with many game systems in Black Desert.
As much as I like AA, and I like it a lot, the LP system can be bothersome, especially with worker's comp potions going for the ridiculous prices they're at now on my AH cluster. I dislike having to limit my gameplay, or limit certain activities, all because of a resource system.

I hope they handle the game better than XLGames and Trion handle Archeage. I do like Archeage and still sub to it (for the moment) but those two will be the death of the game. If Black Desert is run competently I'd swap to that in an instant because I like what I see so far.
you say that as if every single korean mmo sucks and is cash grabbing? every mmo is like that even the western ones like guilwars 2, wildstar, and world of warcraft. building a multi massive role playing game is pure business, they need to make revenue in order to keep going. pay 2 win or not, every game will have some cash shop in which it can benefit the company
The Stamina system in Black Desert serves the same purpose it does in ArcheAge - its a clamp to prevent crafted goods going out of control.
Can you imagine ArcheAge with infinite labor for every character? It would be a total disaster.
Stamina system in Black Desert is a precious resource just like labor in ArcheAge - its another thing for players to manage and put to best use as they see fit.
Also one huge benefit for the developer to Stamina system in Black Desert - its easy to monetize (just like ArcheAge)
If they want to keep crafted goods from getting out of control there's other ways to go about it. Like adding cooldowns to them, or make specific components have a cooldown, similar to what WoW did with items like Living Steel bars, which could only be made once a day. In AA I mostly work on farming and husbandry, with some mining and logging added in. I have 2 16x16 farms and I barely have enough labor to manage them. I basically have to pick and choose what I do. If I want to chop all 16 trees down on my one farm, and then collect from my dairy pens on my other farm, then I can't go out mining that day. And if I go out mining the next day, I have to limit how much I collect if I also want to make the stone into bricks and the ore into ingots.
It's shitty game design when you have players basically forced to stay online 24/7, attacking scarecrow gardens or sitting on courthouse benches while afk. I pay $14.99 a month for patron. I shouldn't be forced to pay more for worker's comp pots just to play the game as much as I want to. And as I said in my other post, with the AH prices for worker's comp so high, it's not even worth buying them with gold since it ends up being a loss of money when you factor in the gold spent for the pot - labor gained from the pot - income generated from that labor usage.

That's what I'm hoping Black Desert will avoid I'm quite happy farming and trade-running in AA, and that's the main focus of the game for me. I make decent money and level my main skills up at the same time just by farming and selling what I make. The LP point system is just a ball and chain for everyone.
Fingers crossed for Black Desert, but based on years of past experience I don't get excited by the hype train any more.
What is it with Asian mmos and the overly flashy combat? I don't necessarily need a firework display every single god damned fight. Hopefully there's an option to dial it back or turn it off like ffiv.

You can dial it way down. It's simply a preference for Korean players. On the flip side, Korean players look at western mmos and think the combat looks so dull.
Happy to hear that. Now I'd love to see some combat with it dialed down

Initial development of ArcheAge began in 2011
Pearl Abyss was founded in September 2010 by Kim Daeil, previously a developer with Hangame and NHN Gaming, and began development of Black Desert
So after he worked on Archeage he warped back in time started his own company and made Black Desert ?

Oh I'm glad about that! Combat in Korean games looks like a "Pinball Machine On LSD" simulator - absolutely ghastly and so immersion-breaking. The way the characters screech like chimps in heat when they fight also grates on me - I don't mind the odd grunt of effort but the Bruce Lee routine gets real old real fast I hope that can be dialled back on as well.
Huh? It have stamina / labor point kind of system? That's... not nice to hear about. Hopefully it's been managed properly or in a different way than ArchAge.
It just weird, that I stand in front of my grape tree and can't pluck the fruit...

It isnt weird, it is logical.
Simple scenario is that you are just tired to pluck said fruit. Another example is that sometimes when you are back from work IRL, and you want to cook, there's the kitchen, ingredients in the fridge, BUT you are just too TIRED. You cant do it, thus the point of labor points.
Also, ingame explanation would be to restrict the overflooding of crafted goods.

the game only has 4 classes??? Ugh! Anyone else remember when MMO's generally had 16 or more?
This might not even be a issue it the classes seemed to have any depth but really they don' t appear to have any. The tank skills are swing you sword and block, the ranger shots arrow and has knockback. Basically the same thing we been playing for the last 20 years but a lot less.
Lastly no challenge. If you can easily solo quests several levels higher then you where is the challenge, and is backstabbing little non-aggressive foxes really that impressive?? Overall looks like gamers standards have dropped if this is considered good/impressive. YMMV but from what I've seen here I'll pass. Hell from the looks of it there's only one playable race (Human)? I'll skip the easy mode, simplified, dumbed down, pay to win cash grab. I do thank the OP for posting this so I could see for myself what this games serous limitations are.
This seems to be one of the last games for me to be excited about.
I just hope exploration really is enjoyable.
Seriously 4 (maybe 5) cookie cutter classes some action twitch combat and your excited. Sure exploration can be fun but unless your memories really bad you can only explore a place once, then what?
Well not to rain on your parade so hope you have fun, I'll look elsewhere

Weren't there supposed to be mirror classes for the opposite genders (female warrior = valkyrie etc.)?
Wonder if those will be in when it gets released here, I hope so.
Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

so to sum up
-no tab target
-no trinity
-button mashing, combo spamming, console combat
-soloable
-no apparent strategy to the fights
-korean game with cash shop
-archeage labour points
I'll pass, this game exemplifies what people hate about Korean "MMO".
I'll bet $100 that you can play it with a console controller.
All people see is flashy graphics, spaztic gameplay and its free. That's all it takes for allot of gamers these days.
Cant wait for this game!

What I think of the Korean MMO.
there will be a 5th class
will have similar gameplay, spam button, spam button, spam button, spam button, exciting times

so it's MMO with nerfed version of cooking mama

+1 sadly to true
BDO has 9 classes but only 4 are playable during this beta. The Russian Focus Group Test had more classes to choose from.
