The real question should be not will you play DnL in April, but ... Will you be able to play DnL in April.
Magic 8 ball says, "All signs point to no."
Judging from SoG (don't be fooled, SoG is a DnL beta client in disguise) being the result of 4 years of development, I think April '06 is ambitious, if not outright absurdity.

He did not specify April 2006 did he? April 2008 seems a bit ambitious to me. April 2010 seems more reasonable.
Here is my 2 cents... I might be wrong but you get what you pay for.
This game could possibly be the greatest thing out there will all the promised revolutionary new features.
Many of these new features will be a shared with other games that will collectively become the next generation of MMORPG's (The first generation being games like Everquest, AO, and others, and the second generation starting with SWG and pretty much ending with WOW.)
DNL will be the early entry into the next generation of MMORPG's with others following the next year and beyond.
The problem with DNL is that by the time it is good and stable... the other next generation games will be online and ready to go.
Personally I am waiting for Age of Conan by Funcom. As mentioned above, by the time DNL is stable and has the bugs worked out... AOC will be rocking.
NO! I have already been horrified by this game, I don't want to be it again.

If DnL cannot implement these wonderful changes then I hardly see them as being the first 3rd generation game. From all I've read it seems they might not even hit the shelf or will be offered via download for a cheaper price by their April deadline. From what I've seen and read it seems this game isn't all that next gen. The graphics especially on the characters are horrible. Compared to Conan, Vanguard, and the Asian incluenced RF online and Spellborn, it hardly even looks like it is a game being released this year. I look at it and think early pre-Luclin EQI graphics. Graphics aren't everything but I haven't heard anyone praising content and gameplay either. Look at the big long list of games over to the side of the page. Many will fail this year. After the sucess of EQI everyone and their sister tried to make a game and now on the eve of 3rd generation and WOW's sucess it is happening again. 2006-2007 will see a lot of the old guard die off, several new games launch badly, sputter and crash and maybe three games will rise to the top who have the budgets, talent and manpower to do a MMORPG well. To me DnL will be a symbol of the "house cleaning" the MMORPG community needs to launch better games in the future. Unfortunately their isn't enough of a custome base to support all these games considering their time investment needed from a player standpoint. On the other end half of these games have been in development for five years or longer and still aren't close to releasing a quality product. Its not going to be pretty for the next two years but it is definitely needed to seperate the wanna-bes from the next generation.
Posters on the DNL forums are already using the May 1 date instead of April 1. Good idea. Start now to let that sink in so the fanbois/devs have time to dream up sumthin that sounds really important but is really antoher BS tactic.
@OP They should take their time, no quick release as I doubt they will make it on schedule.
We already know it won't release on schedule. The game was initially scheduled for release December, 2002. It is a only 3 years and 3 months late so far.

Someone in another posts asked why people come to these sites and get so ticked off and freaked out and bash these games and companys. He said it's only a Video game. Take any person, tease them with something they want, and then hype them into a rabid frenzy with little tidbits while consistently pushing the date back for 3 years and 3 months and see if at least half aren't borderline postal.
They only just started nuts and bolts production of DnL in mid 2002. The first sheduled release date was Dec 2003 (very naive of them, obviously their first mmorpg), then they had a holt in production for six months due to legal fallout which suspended production. This was from a disgruntalled employee who mostly developed the graphics engine. So it's now 3.5 yrs since they started, and about 3 yrs of production time... but we get the piont.
I personally doubt they will release in April, time will tell
Actually the first scheduled release date was Decemeber 2002. They postponed this release date at the last minute in November, 2002. I remember where I was when they announced the 2002 release date and another poster posted a few months ago that he even ran across an old website that is still active advertising the 2002 release date. Up until the postponement the devs were just as adamant that the game would release in 2002 as they are now that it will release in April. Fanboys back then believed every word the devs said just as the fanboys still believe everything now. They announced the game and formed the company in mid 2002. Who knows when they actually started working on the game. Most games start development years before they go public or make any announcements.
Kind of funny and sad the little progress that has been made. It appears that this game has no more of a chance of releasing this year than it did have of releasing in 2002.
