The first and third shots were very good, they almost look like concept art.  The rest weren't particularly impressive though they certainly weren't bad.

My personal favorites were the Spellscar and the Imperial City.

I can't wait until I'll be able to actually go inside the Imperial City :)

    They are all impressive.

No other MMO I have played looks as good as this one.

Those very carefully selected screenshots looks really good, but don't kid yourself about "unparalleled beauty"...

The following random screenshots are from Age of Conan, an MMO that was released 7 years ago.

After putting in lots of time with AoC at launch, I am sure you can appriciate some people not being totally blown away by a game that is marginally better looking than a 7 year old MMO in some parts, and absolulety worse looking in others (Charecter models and animations, for example).

So I post a few awesome-looking screenshots and already the wave of hate has begun to trickle in...

    Holy crap.

Next time leave out "unparalleled" from the title and less people will view it as some sort of attack on whatever they currently think is better in their opinion.

Those look really nice. I need to test this with my new 4k Gaming rig. Is there a free trial or friend invite?
  • EberhardtEberhardt Member UncommonPosts: 157
Black Dessert, Tera, FFXIV, Guild Wars 2, and Arch Age called...they'd like to have a word. But seriously though, leave out the unparalleled part. It can clearly be matched by other MMO's as far as visual fidelity goes. And if you want to broaden the spectrum and throw in Single Player RPG's then it loses by a long shot to several games including the elder scrolls games that came before it.

Does your 4k monitor do upscaling? I have an LG 4k tv and it does it. Wondering if monitors do the same.

Let that be a lesson to you. Positive ESO threads are like flypaper.

Beautiful pictures.  Only thing missing are scores of players (and lots of npcs) looks kinda empty without them.  But again great graphics.

Dude! You can't just walk up in here and post something about a game you enjoy. Especially not a controversial title like ESO. That's like openly admitting you prefer Final Fantasy 7 over Final Fantasy 6 and 9! It's outrage! Riots! Burned at the stake, I tell you.

Did you think this was some kind of place for MMO enthusiasts to gather and discuss similar interests? Nay! You'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy...and cynical wieners.

Ya, HOW DARE people disagree with his claim that ESO is the best looking MMO (or game?) on the market...

AOC was way ahead of its time, too bad it was released unfinished (also ahead of the trend there).

ESO does a few things very well. They have NPCs that are interactive. I think every single NPC in the game says something even animals. Most quest related ones can also be interacted with after and pretty much all of them recognize any choices you had to make even in arcs they werent directly involved in.

But yeah its decent graphically, but I still think AOC edges it out slightly.

Disagree on gfx, on max ESO looks amazing and a lot more attractive than AOC, the game is full of stunning screens - misty swamps area fav.

Re overall I think only GW2 looks best but maps are smaller and it's a different style.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

    Back to the OP...

Thanks, Overlord_Neizir, for sharing these beautiful screen caps from ESO.  Still have not dived into this game, however the scenes you collected and posted make me want to try out the game for sure.  Thanks again!

I agree that in many parts, ESO does look better than AoC, but not by much. There are also many areas where AoC looks better on max settings. Considering AoC is a 7 year old MMO, ESO should not only look better in all areas, it should completely blow it out of the water. Anarchy Online and AoC are seperated by about 7 years, look at the difference in the way they look...This should have been the same (Many MMOs are guilty of not improving GFX anywhere close to the jump in tech that AoC did).... I have said all along that ESO looks really good, but don't kid yourself about it being unparalleled or anything unique in the graphics department, especially in todays market.

why would anybody compare the visuals of an mmo to a single player game?

That hyperbole seems to have affected you deeply. I think everyone else understands exageration for emphasis. But why are you camping this thread saying the same AOC stuff over and over?

Maybe AOC graphics were good. Frankly, I can't remember because I left it pretty quickly after the whole Tortage bait and switch fiasco.

May not have the best graphics, but the graphics matched with the lush art style, + First person, best looking MMO out there.

Avatars though... they need some work. Not much, but some.

Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

AoC was absolutely gorgeous, and had the soundtrack to match. I loved the game personally, may boot it back up even.

I played AoC again a few months ago and it definitely looks dated compared to playing ESO. You have to play the games and compare them, but you can see the grainy parts of the AoC screenshots anyway... Still. I think AoC had great world/city design. The areas felt a bit larger than ESO in some cases.
