Had to go with Diablo 3 and Secret World on 1 and 2 since those are only things i spent money on last year. No vote on 3 since i did not get any of them.
Am I the only one who can't choose for "Best new MMO of 2014"? Because really, nothing that came out last year was particularly good, IMO. I mean, I could choose a "Least bad/underwhelming/disappointing MMO of 2014", but I'd hardly call that much of an achievement : /
Originally posted by Penchant So much hate for ESO. I don't get it. It's actually a really beautiful, enjoyable game... Have the people crying 'turd' even played it recently?
I actually think it's a turd of a game, I broke down over Christmas steam sale and bought it, I thought I would be ok playing as ranged since I hate the melee combat animations, but even those got to me, it just got to the point that I couldn't take it anymore. I forced myself to keep playing, but it just never caught fire for me.
AI animations and combat sucked too. It just become boring and tedious over time. Same with resource managing, just sort become this annoying thing in the background.
The crafting was awesome, graphics were awesome, character freedom awesome ....
But this is all just in my eyes, other people of course see it much different.
ESO update 3 seems so random... I don't really consider it an "expansion" though. I am guessing they probably waited and meant for that to be Update 6, but since it's taking a while lol. Yeah...
Should've added a none option for best new MMO of 2014.

Even though everyone is hating on ArcheAge for the cash-grab and exploits and stuff it has now definately become better, Trion & XL Games are listening to Reddit (example: they made the sloth glider available for loyality tokens), there have not been any exploits anymore, there are hardly any bots farming gold anymore and people finally are starting to enjoy the game as they should have..
Once upon a time it would have been RIFT. But, this last expansion *Nightmare* completely ruined PvP game-play; due to them stripping PvP only players of their gear stats and pvp gear progression; along with forced PvE content. Not sure where to put my vote now.

Hm, I must've missed all the new things Wildstar brought. I didn't get to 40 man raid though, so unless all the things are hiding there, I'd have to disagree.
WS and ESO were the only two MMOs that most of the guild (and a lot of others) quit even before the free month was up. And if people don't want to play your crap for free...well...I'd say there is a distinct lack of things (assuming the things are a good thing).
Secret world was nice, I liked it, lack of PvP (and crapiness of what there was) was my turn-off. Idk how it is now. Rift, same as TSW, was ok, again, dunno how it is now, haven't played it in a long while.

The most valid comment of all. People will argue back and forth about the others but the above is the one most people can I agree on I would think.
Most people would disagree with you. ESO just beat EVERY other AAA mmorpg. Voted best by "most people".
If any of the recent year's crappy games makes it longer than two years it's already a veteran
Its like trying to pick the king of turds from a pile of turds...
Although, what were the criteria for "Veteran" mmo? I mean, wouldn't Everquest 1 be a veteran? Among hundreds of others...
Its not saying much when you are voted the " Best Turd" on the pile
Bringer of Eternal Darkness and Despair, but also a Nutritious way to start your Morning.
Games Played: Too Many
GW2 is the same age as The Secret World which is on the list.

Either way best of luck to it.
even if i am a eso fan, voting eso for best update compared to the other updates/expansions is just a joke.
Still voted for eso on best new mmo

Community loves their game... I see it more of a "War Horn" Rally call.
I like never read the ESO forums though unless I'm looking at patchnotes.
