Within the past week it was announced that a company is now working on a MMORPG based on the Stargate franchise called Stargate Worlds. I bet it comes out before Dark and Light does.

Well, that's just it, innit? I don't think anyone will be playing DnL... at least, not in April. From the way beta testers describe it and what SoG looked like, it's not near ready for a proper beta test let alone a release. Maybe they have a "miracle build" in the works like... umm... Horizons had.

A lot of us don't have to pay, as we are already playing While I agree it's a sneaky way to get more people to pre-order the game, why is it any worse than what other people do? A lot of MMO's out there have added incentives such as beta access for pre-orders, so it's nothing new or negative. Most game companies would receive praise for offering people the chance to win one of 16 lifetime subs, but DnL gets criticism? Shows how selective people are with their opinions.
I thought I'd take a look at these forums as I haven't poked my head in for a while (and yes I've got a low post count, I read and not post due to the amount of flamers/whiners/trolls on here). I must say I'm disappointed at all the negative posts and outright inaccurate criticisms of the game. While I agree it has problems, and a lot of them, people posting that there have been zero improvements, and the game is poor, and comparing it to other vapourware games that came out are just wrong. There have been a lot of improvements, a lot of the bugs have been fixed, client/server stability is (for the most part) MUCH better than when SoG went live, and AD have started rolling out content, such as the 2 global events and some mini-events which seem to imply they are testing the tools at their disposal.
I strongly advise people reading these threads to take the whiners/haters posts with a pinch of salt, and make their own minds up rather than being like sheep and believing everything negative they read on these boards....
The comment wasnt intended for those that already have an account. I do believe that is quite obvious.
The new part of the beta is that DNL takes the money upfront and tries to tell you there is no refund. No other game out there does that. They take the money at shipment. There are hundreds of threads on this.
Most companies may in fact get praise.The lifetime account is not new -- what is new is that you must have the SOG/DNL pkg to do it. Again, beta access paid upfront. No praise for such an obvious grab at peoples money.
Allowing for bugs, login problems, instability simply because they are better than they used to be and not completely fixed is simply ridiculous.

Open your eyes. Open your mind. This game and these boards are the ONLY place you will find the hard cold facts about the game. SImply because you accept mediocrity and in some instances flat out crappiness along with agreeing that they are being sneaky too shows your standards are set to a very low point.

Besides adding events and some fixes of Server/Client stability, perm buged chars ( still some there), SoG remains as it was in December.

Your proberbly in the same boat as many fans/the casually interested passer-by right now.
It's basically thought that once over 70% of all posts in a forum become negative the fan/interested will feel they can not be heard, and unwelcome/harassed/pestered , and will generally leave the forum at that point... these forums are now around the 90%+ negativity mark.

It was stated months ago April 1. I cant find even the notice of the bump date in the forums nor do i have the time or motivation to try and find it. But it was April 1.....now its April 27. IKShadow, there are a few posts not only on this board but other boards around the web with the April 1 release date. Dont understand why you didnt see it. Even Farlan mentioned a delayed release date. Problem is right now cant find anything on a release date in DNL. Then again, I tried, but but didnt try that hard to find it. But yes, it was bumped to the 27th.
idk, to me i think its a pretty cool game.... I play WoW right now, but WoW is just so boring!. I just want to play a new MMORPG thats fun. An I think DNL can do the job. Looks pretty cool to me.....
some inside information for people, DnL beta test a build that is older than the one they have ready! why im not sure, but hey there french. Second they took pre orders up front because after 2years longer than they expected the money ran out, there contract for Stargate: worlds (tbc) has fortunalty gave them enough money to finish DnL. And make annother mmorpg, which they have a new team for, so if your waiting for that your lucky, i mean you maybe able to trust release dates. Cant disclose how i know this, and no it isnt through another so and so told so and so kind of thing. I have faith that they will produce something spectacular, i think this is a dark horse, i mean what better way to get customers in than buy builiding the suspense of wether or not it will be released. all the posts here just go to show that its informed more people the game exists as it is. Dont let them scam you, but dont kill a game before its launched, it can do it it's self in this case. I dont think i will be playing it, to be honest i have lost all hope.

Even withthem pushing the release dateback to the last business day in April as the did I don't think they have a ice cubes chance in hell of releasing anything more than a updated copy of SoG. None of the features such as crafting has been tested other than in house. But then little things like making sure it works has never stopped them before so who knows.
