Heart of Thorns promises to change how you play Guild Wars 2 in a big way, but here are some of our picks for smaller improvements that would make the game experience a lot better.

Wouldn't have been my list but meh...
My list would have required they look at hobosacks for engineers, the rewards system for loot and how to make it oh I don't know REWARDING for everyone in the open world, the removal of DR once and for all, condi stacking is absolutely a must but they also need to look into the Zerker meta on PVE all around so I proposed they add some mechanic similar to the CC killing mechanic they have now where if the boss is hit with a crit there's a time period until it can be hit with a crit again which would bring back power builds and then there's also the aspect of condi stacks which no one has resistances to in the game not even bosses but they need to fix them so they become a different kind of stack per person like bleeding could become deep wounds and continue to stack. Condis also suffer from a lack of burst crits when they crit so they could increase that and if they were really great about the balance they could make power offer a buff to the base damage of condis.
These are the major reasons why I no longer play and I'm watching to see if they remain honest beyond the little lie they told during PAX to the audience where they claimed they delivered on their original design at launch.
Trading and dueling need to be included imo.
the maps are not ment for mounts, i can run from one to another (ran from queens to orr) in about 10 minutes. I rather them focuse on fixing things like the camera on jumping puzzles and maybe some hit boxes as well.

I don't see the need for mounts in this game either.
While mounts are not necessary in terms of its functionality, I'd still like to see it added to the game.
1) It adds more items for collectors
2) Additional items in cash shop without it being P2W
3) Some professions is unable/spammy to keep up 100% Swiftness. Mount is a good alternative
4) It adds uniqueness and flavor to your character
One thing that severely limits my enjoyment of playing alts is the lack of account wide waypoint unlocks. How about a mastery that allows at least level 80 characters to get full waypoint access if you have one character with full world exploration?
Even the living story season 2 has enough travel to make it annoying, if not impossible, to play alts that have little play time. It's easy to get exotic gear for alts now, so gearing isn't an issue - but man the unlocking. Ugh.
What? Power and condition damage are essentially the same. Power rise the direct damage output, condition damage rise the condition damage output. So what are you talking about?!
There are mounts, but they are cosmetic. Gliders will be available in HoT for the Magumma Region so people who need their flying mount fix will get it then.
They should make it more like WoW.
Little forum boys with their polished cyber toys: whine whine, boo-hoo, talk talk.
Seems like zones are too small and mob density is too high. I don't see how mounts would work. People would start crying about mob density and getting knocked off their mounts too easily.
I'll agree with the Condi damage being an ELE that uses a bunch of it on my abilities.
Also agreeing with the FP view as I've wanted that a long time now. Mainly for the purpose of combat videos and screenshots. Just not the same in 3rd-P as it is in FP.
But the most agreeable part of this whole opinion piece -and the reason I nearly wet myself with giddy glee as they mentioned fixes for it at PAX South- is the current PvE dominated status of WvW. [Yes, it is 'mostly' EotM' however the other maps frequent the concept so much that it's ruined much of what was liked about this feature.] When they do finally get the defense set up fixed as they mentioned it will be a great thing that will push PvEers back out of WvW and make it once again about the WvW.
I care less about the rewards and wish for a time where once again we'd have those epic battles of 20+ siege engines against 20+ siege engines. Between it all the 50 players battling it out in a chaotic ballet of combat glory. The times when StoneMist Castle had a Treb on every out hanging, multiple catapults and an army constantly patrolling its in's and out's for the good of holding the biggest and most prized structure in the land. That is what is missing right now in WvW. It's far less about the castle sieges and the large army fights mid-field; it's more about the killing an unguarded Lord, collecting some Karma, and running away to the next outpost. YUCK!

For me to come back, they need a ground-up redesign of PvE ( at least of classes, so to speak).
As other people have already mentioned, Guardians and Warriors are so OP in PvE that it's silly to try other classes. You don't even get close to the same efficiency. I made a Ranger and tried my best to play it well, but when I hop onto my Warrior I demolish stuff much faster (albeit have less fun doing it).
Also, last time I logged back in and wanted to run PvE, a LOT of groups had an achievement points requirement to join!?!? Like WTF, since you can't see people's gear, players have gone to such retarded lengths to measure fellow gamers? ANET needs to put a stop to their gear progression imo (which is INDEED one of the BIG things they 100% lied about).
The Pvp, WvW, and PvE are a balance issue - to redesign PvE they would also have to redesign the while game from the ground up and that won't happen. Sorry. You won't be back so why bother even posting?
There is no gear progression really - Ascended armor/weapons add less than 5% to your damage, etc. output but in time costs so much and in materials, they are not worth it. I can play with all exotics and best people in full ascended armor/weapons all day. It is about your skill and not your weapons.
