You donate $10,000 to a video game?  Some patriot you are.

So you don't own anything that you don't need? Your car is the absolute cheapest that would get you to/from work? You give all your extra income to the "needy"? No? Then don't even start that. We all waste money, it's what we do, how each person does it is no business of mine. I'm saving up for a sports car that'll cost more than $10k, does that make me a bad person too?

    A video game. $10,000

Everyone spend money on themselves, but donation could be routed to more alarming issues than U$ 10,000 on an undeveloped game...

A waste is a waste. Me buying a sports car or a fancy digital kingdom and dinner with game devs is the same thing. Money to make the buyer happy.

I found out about the game when watching CohhCarnage's stream and I kinda fell in love with it, to be honest.

It might sound odd, but having played Tribal Wars for a long time and being annoyed with the lack of options the game had to offer after years of playing, the minute I saw the kickstarter video I just imagined a 3D Tribal Wars game with an active forum, people declaring wars and arguing in the forums, Politics and Propaganda like in Tribal Wars, war pamphlets and people getting screwed over by traitors and ultimately quitting for a month or two before coming back.

I just saw a lot of possible bullsh*t to do in the game and I can't wait to try everything the world has to offer :D

I know it's a bad analogy and that TW isn't that good of a game, but having flashes of people quitting the game because of the bullsh*t you could do to them just puts a smile on my face and I can't wait to try it in Crowfall too.

I never backed a game before and I would generally say it's a bad idea to back something unless you have concrete evidence that you WILL get the game and what you pledged for, but with this I really feel like it's gonna make it. Even though I will be putting a bunch of money compared to what I earn, I'm willing to take the risk. I really like the concept of the game.

I made a kickstarter account for this yesterday and came here after I saw Talrune's comment on the project's page.

Even if I might spend the money on something that's gonna disappoint me, I can't wait to get the money to pledge.

Just wanted to share my point of view over here.

Hope more people will follow the game's progress :)

Every now and then you should take a risk. As many people on this site like to say "no risk, no reward"

Or they could play it safe and just play games they are served by publishers and, what most of them do, endlessly complain about those same games.

Theres nothing wrong with kickstarter, projects. In a way, people can get a bit of feel of how it is to be investor (although with kickstarter you should think of it as donation). You see how people are so concerned about measly 30$ heh, now imagine If you had 10 mil $, hell 100 mil $$ and have to decide what to invest in - high risk/high return, low risk/low return, risk assesment, feasibility, diversify or all in, opportunity cost... ... ...and expect 120% return in 2 years ;P

    Its actually quite amusing ;)

I think crowfall will be a very niche game. Its going to be a zerg game where mega guilds and organised groups will dominate. No place for solo players. Its a game where you have to be in the campaign when it begins and actively participating throughout the campaign or lose out. These are going to turn off alot of players.

I find this game hard to work in reality. Good luck to the backers.

I alreday gave my advice, but im not shy of repeating it:

they need to figure out how to have something like EvEs high sec, or, rather, i would say, EVEs concept of high sec incorporated into the game (maybe they already know how?)

I thought that was the function of the world campaigns, no?

Damn, I so envy you guys and the others of your kind, looks like you have too much cool games to play for your free time and looks like you don't even know about that feeling when you completly tired enought of all this MMO games around. That's why you can with cool look talk that way. But not me. I'm done with desperately searching and waiting for something cool to play. If I have a chance greater then zero to help such game make happen, well, I will put my money on the line, f*** them, it's just money, they are nothing in comparing with the game I dream about.
