Tragically these are the sort of "reviews" we get from games journalism.
A game I worked on got a positively glowing review (from a site that normally made troll hate-articles about the company I was at). About a week after the article came out curiosity got the best of me and I checked the guy's account: he had spent about 10 minutes total playing our game.
To be honest, as feedback goes the OP's very detailed accounting is still a valuable gut-check for how customers feel. Usually with that sort of post you can dig through it to find some really awesome actionable stuff (amid the trash like "the armor all looks the same" -- which it obviously does in any game at level 4.) So while it's horrible when we call it a 'review', it's actually not totally useless.

Yes indeed, the mindless ranters clueless to the fact differences of opinion and play styles create diversity and healthiness within mmos.
Amazing how "differences of opinion" never seem to include those that dislike the game...they are made into "mindless ranters".
One must wonder who is actually being mindless and clueless here.
Some people dislike it intelligently for valid (to them) reasons. Others talk about drinking the Firor koolaid...yeah, there's a difference.
Coming from the person that said ESO will sell 10 million copies easily...
Sorry, but the only thing the quote you used as a "proof" is confirming is that you are wrong. Just read the red here and compare it to what was actually said, it shouldn`t be hard.
Speaking of numbers, as far as we know ESO could even be close to 2m copies sold ATM, and I wouldn`t be surprised to see them selling much more on consoles. So, while I wouldn`t exactly bet on it, 10m is not impossible. No need to go berserk about it.
You can certainly tell a lot - and whether you like, dislike or are ambiguous to - any product after only a few minutes let alone hours.
There is a difference between troll posts (could be), objective criticisms and naïve rants.
ESO probably hasn't sold very many copies at the moment but could well go on to sell many millions once it is released on console; very hard to say.
The 20M+ figure I seem to remember coming from me pointing out that if the game was to have 10M subs by the end of (last) year then assuming it had a 40% retention rate it would have had to sell 20M+. And 40% was very generous!
In all fairness to the OP, ESO had the worst starting area and experience that I have ever had in an MMO, and quite a few people shared that sentiment. I have heard positive things about the game if you can endure the pain and push through it, but to me it wasn't worth it.
I really don't understand the mentality that thinks you should play an MMO for an entire month to see if you like it. No other medium would you give such a chance to. I don't have to watch 4 episodes of a TV show or an hour and a half of a movie or read twelve chapters into a book to realize I don't like it. It is like saying let me keep kicking you in the nuts, eventually you might like it. Or "Hey eat this eight course dinner of shit sandwiches because the after dinner mint is delicious."
"Wouldn't be surprised" isn't the same thing as "will sell", which you seem to think Iselin said.
Also you can't judge the sales of a console franchise on PC sales alone. At least wait for the console release. Which WILL dwarf PC sales. You can quote me on that.
Nope. Saying you wouldn't be surprised to 10 million in sales falls plainly into the Kool-Aid drinking category when it comes to ESO.
Also..when exactly did ES become a console franchise? Still some crazy amount of desperation on the part of those defending ESO........wow.......and how would one quote you on console sales being higher when the company hid the abysmal PC sales?
So how abysmal was it? What orifice are you pulling your numbers from that allows you to call the numbers "abysmal"? Do tell...
The same orifice that you constantly praise the poor excuse called ESO.

Since after Morrowind when the last 2 ES games were designed for consoles primarily.
Well, according to you they they haven't hid them, otherwise no sane person would claim they're abysmal!
Right which is why Oblivion had 10 spell keys and looked better on the PC and for some reason Bethesda worked hand in hand not only with Steam for a moding workshop but also with Nexus moders so they could have their moding manager ready for release...oooooooops.

There are some things that he says that shouldn't even be replied to. When people deny simple facts like a company not even announcing 1 million in sales to help hype their game, especially when competition is being released its due to their not even selling a million copies. They will never admit to it because its not in their nature. They are 100% for, or 100% against something.

Gee, tell us a few more times how you dont feel connected to NPCs...guess what? THEY ARE NOT REAL. The moment you feel "connected" to an NPC, log out...uninstall...schedule an appointment to speak with a therapist. Oh, and if you have a velvet picture of Elvis that you think watches over you when you sleep, best to remove that too.

I hope he is one of those people that buy things and then requests a charge back from his bank.
He deserves his bad credit scores. I feel great in knowing that these types will never build a home near me.
