Closed Beta 2 is well under way, and by now you've watched videos, seen our streams, or played the game yourself. Having quite a lot in common with Neverwinter (at least in my book), I wonder how many of our dear readers will be playing Obsidian and Allods Team's MMORPG when it goes live later this year.
Personally, as I said while streaming last night, I look at Skyforge as an ideal "quick bite MMO". It's got solid enough combat and class progression to keep me interested in the short term, even if I don't think I'll be playing it for months on end as my only game. There's nothing wrong with an MMO that's meant to capture players for a few weeks at a time, especially when they're designed as F2P from the start.
As long as the Cash Shop isn't too intrusive (as it was in Neverwinter), I expect I'll play Skyforge a good bit when it launches, even if just for an hour here or there. It's definitely not perfect, but it's fun in short spurts, and there are some really nice ideas present as well.
But what about you? Will you be playing Skyforge? That's today's Daily Quest... get cracking.
If by "Having quite a lot in common with Neverwinter..." means what I think it means (endgame is spending money on cashshop for endless upgrades) then I guess I will grab what leveling up gameplaye the title offers and bail out before I get an itch to spend a dime.

If it is like Neverwinter, then only maybe, just as a bit of fresh air and a new experience. Will give it a fair chance, but if the cash shop is a single bit as Neverwinter, then no thanks. I would have left Neverwinter long ago, only thing that keeps me there are my friends and the very good action combat, but that's it. Neverwinter turned out to be a huge p2w game and there too you can't post your feedback or write a critical comment on their forums without having to fear a ban or other punishments. A question came to my mind. I know a few guys, who work in the game IT business and they told me they are like nomads, work for more games and hop over from one company to the other. All these problems are there, cause we actually never see fresh blood in the gaming industry, it's all the same staff working here and there. My question is, isn't one part of Skyforge's game staff related to Cryptic, cause i would bet on it. Saw a few twitch.tv streams and after seeing the many censored lines, i thought, hey this might be the same guys behind the curtains, the same rude Mods.
No,I will never play another game by Allods Team,Allods was a very good game but they care only about item shop I'm expecting the same thing on Skyforge.
I'll play skyforge for a few weeks. there's enough in it to let the average gamer enjoy, but probably it wont be a long term game as many elements may be too repetitive.
I will not be playing this game. Shallow bite sized game play is not something I enjoy in mmos. I have a ton of single player and coop games for that type of game play that offer better game play and deeper story lines.
Might play it, depending on whether or not the bite sized content is worth chewing on. I don't have some bizarre need to become known for crafting a community's only dragonhide jockstraps but I kinda expect combat and animations in a game like this to be up to date. Better be packed with explosions and combos!!

I have the same feeling as the op.

Videos suggests this is one of the most braindead slashers I've seen in a long time.
Neverwinter-ish? An even worse turnoff, since I hate NW.
Cash shop, I suspect p2w.
etc
= No thanks. Looks like garbage to me.
The cash shop is for cosmetic items. Nerds can step down from their high mopeds now.
FUncom putting the FU in fun since 1993.

all those who played allods online whill know just how much of a pay to win game this game is going to be.
just to give you an idea: you had to pay hundreds of euros for items from the cash shop that are absolutely essential.
a few exemples:
-runes that can boost your damage and defense to up to 130%, which means 230% of your base damage/defense
-horrible stat boosts that bring your character to a whole new level
-an item that give you the racial skills of ALL other races! which are for the most very powerful
-of course skill points, LOTS of them
-mastery points, again a shit ton of them
-pvp mounts that are so tanky that you can hardly put them down to beat the actual player.
and that's just the top of the iceberg.
so honestly, even if astrum nival offered me money to play their game, i would rather stop playing games
