It looks good but has a very short LOD draw distance.I am pretty sure that will not improve ,none the less it is acceptable and looks good enough.
I still need to see a quality game to go along with decent graphics.
I have already seen good enough graphics in the Unity engine, the real problem is stability within the unity engine,i have seen nothing but terrible frame rates in that engine.
So will be interesting to see how those graphics hold up in a setting that has a bit of density in assets. My opinion is that before they go ahead any further, they should create a very busy scene and see if it is going to be doable.I have had average graphics cripple my machine down to 3/4/5 frames per second in the unity Engine,so i would be very skeptical in this case trying to go higher end visuals.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I really hope they take the time to fill in those empty spaces. I'm sure that will take A LOT of work to get right. Attention to detail is crucial. The video looks good, but a ton of work is obviously still needed. I'm saying this with Vanguard in mind. I absolutely loved the vast open world, but most of it felt empty and unfinished. This was at release and a considerable time after, from my experience. I know there were financial issues, but many people, including myself, were shocked by how unfinished the game turned out to be. I claim false advertising, honestly.
I'm being overly critical, I know. The game seems to be progressing nicely. I'm just being realistic, though..making great MMOs takes a ton of work and dedication. I've learned to not be fooled by what's shown on the surface...
edit: Sorry to sound so negative btw. I'm actually a huge supporter of this game. Love the work Brad does. I just hope he and his team gain access to the proper resources they need to complete the game successfully.

Having said that, I almost don't want to give the game any compliments. I feel like the negative criticism the game first received right out of the gate pushed the developers harder to produce something unique. However, what you guys have done is quite astonishing. You manged to make the game look nothing like its first reveal. The last time I saw a game change so much was FF14.
Keep up the good work, but don't ever believe you are doing well. Keep pushing to create something magical. Gamers aren't the only one's who fall victim to "The Hype Train". Developers, I noticed, also suffer as well.

I'd like to add a question to those questions.
What are the specs on your machine, Wizardry?
Honestly, I was being facetious. I already know the answers and he threw out stuff like LOD expecting most people wouldn't know what it means. Skip in the video to 2:50+ and look at the detail in objects in the distance, especially when the camera isnt moving. The pixelation you see during movement is the way it was recorded, not the game itself. To my knowledge, there are no live MMOs developed in Unity, though there are a number in development and most of them use Unity 4 while Pantheon will use Unity 5. You can make some graphics intensive games with it, and by default they may not scale with hardware. That doesn't mean you can code in options (like every game has) to be more compatible with older machines.

I remember the LOD slider was quite important in EQ1. Most machines back then seriously sucked and had seperate 3D video cards.
I had a 4MB Voodoo card.
I don't think the game will be horrible fps wise, unless the machine is very outdated, but, we will just have to wait and see.

Lol ya everyone had that voodoo card. It was like 1 of 2 options in the computer hardware section. I never even heard of a independent video graphics card before Everquest. It just wasnt necessary.
I have one question about Pantheon. Will it be a streamless world or will it be instanced to death like the game Shroud of the Avatar?
*Edit* I have one more question. Will dungeons be limited to party members or solo only or will you be able to see lots of players once you've entered them?

Our world is Zone based, like EverQuest; but it is NOT instanced. Our zones are large and open, and players come and go from zone to zone. Dungeons work the same, you will see other groups and people in dungeons, they are not instanced.

This/ I wouldn't take notice of what wizardy says, seems the more this game becomes a reality the more gutted he is lol. Brad had a thing about draw distance hence why Vanguard had one of the biggest draw distances in any mmo to date.

Another bump for this video. I think they are redoing some parts over for the Unity 5 engine, though this is a still a pretty good reference to how the game is making forward progress. It's obviously a bit slower with a much smaller team due to funding, however I believe with a few more updates with proven quality progress that more people will be willing to help fund the project. If everyone that was tired with the current mmo-rpg market helped fund the project we probably wouldn't need money from investors. Though I know this isn't everyone's slice of cake and not everyone can or wants to give and that's completely understandable. All we can hope for now is that with a few more updates more people on the fence with tip over and help make it happen.

This is the underdog mmo that's gonna make some noise in the future. And this is how it happens folks. Gamers taking back their games. Love it.
