ESO looks good until you play it for a while, then it gets boring quick since its all been done before except for the "loot almost everything" stuff and the utterly ridiculous "no broker" garbage. And GW2 is so boring there aren't even words because you never have to talk to anyone, even an npc unless you want to buy something, its all autogroup and autoquest.
So you wouldn't have a top 5!? Those are about the only ones to agree on.
No, I don't really like any of the current b2p games out there. Most of them started out as p2p, and weren't good then, never mind now. If a company goes b2p, it means they are just eeking out any remaining money they can before they go under. They can't afford to pay a long term staff, and it will take forever to address any issues.

Well imho, B2P is the next norm in payment models. I don't think it necessarily means anything failed, it just means there are other ways to succeed. A perfect example is SWTOR goin f2p.
edit: Also, the payment models don't really have anything to someones preference in a game. Well, at least it shouldn't matter. You for example don't like any of the games, it has nothing to do with how the companies are paid. I don't like eve, it has nothing to do with their payment model.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
"MMO but by most definitions it does qualify. If games like Neverwinter, Guild Wars 1, and other similar lobby-esque systems qualify for the MMO tag, Destiny should as well." Actually GW1 was never considered an MMO even by it's own devs, and only people new to the genre think Neverwinter or Destiny are MMOs.
Actually, a couple of them are downright terrible, I'm talking about The Crew and Destiny, and The Secret World is only slightly better than that. Again, imo.
But as others have said, it's not much to choose from, which is why terrible games also are among the most awesome...
Hmmmmmmm, so you are saying that GW2 does NOT warrant a place on the top 5 B2P games? I find it really difficult to think of any other, more worthy B2P games, but feel free to make an argument on how GW2 doesn't deserve to be on the list. An argument other than, "here we go again"
More worthy? TSW and ESO for starters. But GW2 has it's place in the list.
Except that both those games launched as P2P sub games, failed in that model, and were forced to transition to a B2P model. GW2 was set up as B2P from the very beginning before it even launched. So just for starters GW2 has a better business model because it is set as such from beginning.
As for content, both those games are lacking something that GW2 has. TSW is missing massive PVP siege battles, ESO is missing small mapped battleground PvP fights. Guild Wars 2 offers a ton of options for a ton of different play styles for people to get into and swap.
Oh, and combat wise out of all 3, GW2 is hands down better. TESO has its combat designed for consoles from the start, so it has invisible, artificial hitbox assists. TSW, having watched streams and read opinions on -although not experienced it directly-, the combat is said to be the very worst aspect of the game that turns off some from the game entirely.
I have played all these games. I will tell you TSW is missing nothing, the people that cry about TSW's combat just don't understand it. No, it does not have big siege warfare, you got me there, but then again TSW does not need it as it would not fit with the theme of the game.
Here is a thought though, if you don't know what you are talking about, then maybe you should just not talk about it?
If you want a new idea, go read an old book.
In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

WoW is not on the list because WoW is not Buy 2 Play.
WoW is B2P for sure. Just like Wildstar and EVE. All you need to do is purchase the game/expansion and farm about 25K gold in the first month, which is more than possible - if you're playing on US servers.
In EU, the Token is not yet functional, so yeah, subscription-based, but that might only be true for 1-8 days or so.

I'll back him up. I have 2 maxed out characters in TSW. Combat is indeed terrible. Quests are great though! After playing TESO and Gw2 and Warframe for sometime now ... I can never go back to combat as WoW or TSW.
P.S: Funfact. Did you know that TSW uses Flash to create its UI? xD Much CPU waste.

So you can safely say WoW is B2P.
Well to me B2P is when I don't have to worry about re-subbing, or I don't have to log in for a month if I choose not to. That is why I like B2P because it gives me a sense of guiltless freedom in that I don't "have" to play. So to me those games aren't B2P.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
Destiny ist not realy B2P cause you cannot play all the content without buying DLC it is a hidden subfee.
That's generally how B2P games make their money. I don't know that you can call it a "hidden fee". GW1, GW2, TSW, SWTOR, WoW, all charge for expansions.
How the hell is destiny a MMO? I Don't get it. It has no content, no working economy, no jobs, no trading and some of the most repetitive dungeons i've ever seen in a game.
i wish more mmo's would try being a bit more original like TSW.. even though the combat drags it down a bit it's awesome setting makes it one of my faves.
if i liked car games i'd definitely try out the crew. i'm desperate for anything non fantasy based.
Yeah the games atmosphere is amazing but good lord the character models and animations don't make much sense when you look at what the devs did with AoC. I'm playing AoC now til Heart of Thorns comes out.

So by that thought process since GW2 is doing well it should go P2P? Nah, I don't think the payment model really has anything to do with the quality of a game. Look at SWTOR, it was considered terrible after it's launch, it went f2p, and now it's recommended by many. For some reason people think a game has failed because it's payment model changes, and that is not always the case. An example is Wildstar. It is a good game but the players let down the developers by running from the hardcore raid requirements that were put in place. The developers thought to bring back the hardcore aspect of gaming which everyone was always ranting about wanting! When they gave it to them they couldn't handle it and quit. Now there are no players so the developers have changed many aspects of the game. Now all they need is players! The best way to do that would announce the game going F2P/B2P and they would more than likely have a new success. Of course this is just my thoughts!
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

It is likely the most played b2p MMO out of all of them....they don't need free advertisement.
And author, Destiny? Please stop with this game. In fact, until it comes to the PC it does not even exist as far as I am concerned.
Actually, Destiny is the most played game on the list, sorry to disappoint. Oh and, yes, that is without a PC version. That's just the cold, hard facts, regardless of whether you believe it to exist or not.

If you ask me, i think BF:BC2 is better MMO then Destiny!
And why is GTA5 not on this list!? it has its "mmo" aspect like Destiny.... right?
list is ok.i mean its a close call between GW2 and TESO for first .i would have gone TESO but thats just prefence.
however, why on earth is destiny there.i own it but a mmo it certainly is not!

These "articles" all exist for a very basic reason.
Paid advertising...but hey, idc really since I read it.
