This whole thing is sad. The problem is that these developers are still at work lurking around, they keep on promising things and they keep on telling everyone how things will be better.
The fact is that these people messed up and they didn't right their wrongs. They should be permanently removed from the gaming world and forced to live their lives without "contribution" to the industry. It is the only fitting punishment for these criminals.
Underhanded business tactics will not be shrugged off with a minor apology. Those that bite on that apology I have no more sympathy for than the developers.

I received this in email last week:
Hi there,
You are receiving this email because you were one of the first paying customers of Age of Mourning. As you all know, the game has had problems over the last year. We are in the process of fixing various bugs and improving game play and are expecting the game to be up and running sometime in April or May 06.
We are also going to offer you guys perks such as free monthly subscriptions after the closed beta is finished (the length will be determined once the game is up). There will be other goodies as well which I will get into at a later time. Of course, you are all guaranteed a seat in the closed beta if you would like.
I also wanted to give you my personal contact information so if you had any questions or suggestions you can email me or msg me anytime. It is important this time around that we address your needs and wants.
As we get closer to the re launch of the closed beta for Age of Mourning, I wanted to get in touch with the people that have been here since the start of the games development.
We have recently brought in an investor that will ensure the successful launch of Age of Mourning. We are currently working daily to bring the title back online. I hate giving exact dates as to when it will be done, however I can confidently say it will be sometime within the next 6 months. The closed beta testing will start sooner then this. Most likely sometime in April.
We also completed an extensive interview with RPGvault which will be published sometime next week; I will post the link once I have it.
Since we are in the process of updating the game and making changes, I would like to hear from you in regards to what you would like to see changed, added or just removed all together. Any and all feedback would be great, and I will respond to each one of your questions/concerns. We want to make a game you want to play and would like as much input as possible, both good and bad.

What pisses me off is that the bastards have the nerve to ban someone that paid for the game. I'm not talking about something mahjor like DDO or something similar. I'm talking about something that pretended to be going somewhere, closed it's doors, and when I dared mention it then some "noname" pops up and criticizes me instead of being insanely happy that he's found someone to support his even having job.
Originally posted by Egomancer A few key things:1. The lore team consumed 50% from Dan's time for like 6 months to set it up and run it 2. The result of the lore team was 40 quests and like 30 pages of other text 3. Tons of harrasement regarding the fact that some former lore team members decided that they want to be payed for the volunteer work. This is why I decided back in May 2005 to close the lore-team and give the full rights to the lore that was created by the members back to the ones that asked for it since none fo the lore actually got into the game. So enjoy...EgomancerP.S. Regarding the interview all I can say is that if the reader does not see that it is biased to the extreme then I am writing here for nothing. I mean to ask: "Is it true that he forbid you to read the forums?" and the guy answers : "No, it is not true but...". Then the interviewer: "Moving back to the fact that it was forbid to read the forums" ... Or things like this: "At work we had to work, damn!!!"P.P.S. I agreed with the ban of the people that asked for money for volunteer work and created a supposedly fake interview that is bashing the team that worked on the game.
I'd just like to post this again so Ego doesn't go back and delete it. Don't mind me!
God dang, this is gonna go down in history as what has to be the worst MMORPG ever not to be released! And people call DNL unprofessional and vaporware? Atleast when SOG came out it could hold a few thousand people and stay somewhat stable! this game can't even handle 12!
dont forget to say that game get released couse run out of money soo i say crap server slow fix couse not many ppl working, same the money

Seriously, when do fanbois die? People who have been following this garbage game are still begging for more broken promises, broken release dates etc over at the website to no avail.
It's one thing to get hooked on a really good, high quality mmo for a year or so and waste countless hours of your life "having fun". It's completely another things to waste YEARS of your life living in broken promises, lies, and the deciet of something like "Mourning". It is really sad to me that fanbois are STILL foaming at the mouth and so eagar for what might have been over on their forum boards.
I think for everything good and for everything right, it is soooo past time for the devs and decievers behind the Mourning project(s) to let it DIE already. Nothing good will ever come from such a steaming pile of poop that is now so full of maggots and bad taste that it will never really be taken serious.
When you post, please abide by the following rule:
MMORPG.com does not allow users to advertise products or companies in our forums. If you would like to purchase advertising space, please contact support@mmorpg.com.
Further posts advertising the state of Mourning (or its various other names) will be deleted. Continually ignoring this rule will result in your account being permanently banned.

Yes, and they are brand new, clean & shiny. There is no poop smeared all over them as the Mourning Devs haven't even touched them. Quite a bargain if I do say so myself.
Hm.....I just posted a link to this thread on AoM's new site asking them for a comprehensive explanation about why mourning won't make the same mistakes...........I wonder how long it will last.
I swear, if I ever get rich and am able to develop my own mmorpg...
...My mmorpg would have a huge mob called the "Mourning Dave's" tromping around the forest. He'd hurl CD looking projectiles at the players and ofcourse, these CD's would either come flying out of his ass or his mouth at about 100 mph. Hehe.
Anyone agree that would be a classic mob to have in a new mmo?
Rofl this thread is still alive ? Is this game even alive (cant be bothered to read another 50/60 pages that came up afte I read this thread a few months ago ) . And do we get a free copy of mourning for keeping the game alive with this thread :P ?
