World of Warcraft: New Meta Achievement Will Allow Flight in Draenor

After several weeks of spirited debate about the "no flying in Draenor" issue, World of Warcraft devs have come up with a compromise to give players the chance to fly but with the caveat that they will have to work for it by completing a new meta achievement.
In the coming weeks, a new patch will be applied to the Public Test Realm that will feature the meta achievement called Draenor Pathfinder that will require players to complete the following in order to secure the account-wide ability to fly in Draenor:
You’ll earn this achievement in Patch 6.2 by mastering the outdoor environment of Draenor—exploring Draenor’s zones, collecting 100 treasures in Draenor, completing the Draenor Loremaster and Securing Draenor achievements, and raising the three new Tanaan Jungle reputations to Revered. Initially, this achievement will award a rylak mount: the Soaring Skyterror, one of the native beasts that roam Draenor’s skies. Players will remain ground-bound on Draenor until a small follow-up patch (6.2.x), when all players who have earned Draenor Pathfinder on at least one character will unlock the ability to fly in Draenor on all their level 90+ characters.

Umm no it says "account bound" do it once then all level 90+ toons get it.
No they said they had no intention to ever include it. Sometimes intentions shifts.
This was a community driven decision and seeing how Blizz have been very much about the "for the community" they simply had to cave at some point.
Personally i could not care less... But it shows that vanilla servers would perhaps be a bad idea in the long run.

And when players get enough of grinding and leave the game again Blizzard will chuck this feature in the cashshop for $20/$50.

Talk about a kick in the balls, so now the only way to fly is to grind your ass off and literally waste my time doing shit I don't want to do so that I can finally get what I should have been able to pay for from the beginning...Blizzard, you can go f**k yourself. Lets not even talk about the disaster that is PvP and garrisons, lets not fix some of these huge glaring problems first or anything.
I left the game in March mostly because of the lack of flying and the drying up of content and this is their way of trying to bring people back when their subs are already on the decline? LOL Blizzard you are utterly clueless and this is pathetically desperate to keep people playing and subbed. This is easily the worst expansion they have released yet and this might be the expansion that kills this game for me completely.

Exactly, this is just a marketing stunt, they probably knew it since the beginning. Pathetic, such a huge success and still lowering their standard to this degree.
This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
I knew they've give in when it comes to flying, but I expected they'd keep it to the ground until their usual big patch before the next expansion.
At least it's not a small amount of stuff necessary for the achievement. Either way, it's not like I'm playing at the moment, so no worries for me.
Funny how different the opinions are. I would rather you and everyone else never be able to fly in Draenor (until the content is outdated), and that Blizzard would stick to their original design decision. But they're giving in to the whining. Be happy the ability is there at all and you only have to do it on one character.
if you think farming factions is about walking to certain places, i would make a wild guess here and say you don't have too many from the latest expensions on max yet, eh? :>

I had fun once, it was terrible.
We are whining? What!? I guess we are trying to change history now? why do you think they dropped flying from the expansion to begin with? because people like you were crying on the forums, complaining about how the content gets bypassed or how people avoid fighting because of flying mounts when the solution with anyone with a few brain cells was to just stop using your flying mount, not get Blizz to remove flying altogether for future expansions.
I busted my ass for hundreds of hours collecting mounts, completing hard mode achievements trying to get the rarest flying mounts I could only to have people come in and take a dump on one of my favorite parts of the game.

A: Yes you are... Just because others did it too does not absolve "you" of your actions.
B: Well if flying is your favourite part of the game... I think you are playing the wrong game... Maybe try Warthunder.. It might not have dragons but the flying is a lot more involved.
Because nothing else is affected by this either way.

How unfortunate for you. But yes, it's whining. Whining about how it's not fair because you weren't catered to for how you spent your time in-game.
Once again, be happy you have the option to put those mounts to good use if you decide to play again and wanna put in the effort. Otherwise just wait until the next expansion, as they're likely to add flying naturally in Draenor at that point.
Instead, we get a bunch of early-achieving a-holes flying around ganking people while the people running around have absolutely no means of escaping. WOW! Thanks Blizz!!

A: So having good, rational reasons to keep flying is now "whining".... right.
B: I'll play whatever game I like and enjoy the parts I wish to enjoy thank you.
Since you're a "thinker", come up with a good reason to remove a feature that has existed for 3 expansions and that a large portion of the player base enjoy that has better arguments then just "because I personally just don't like it".
