The "Tamriel Unlimited" release is getting good reviews from players. Whatever they did with it, they did better than the initial release of ESO on the PC. Millions of copies sold isn't outrageous for an Elder Scrolls game. I would be really curious as to what "millions" means though.

Regardless if it actually is millionS, then it's impressive. Although offering the price cut to PC early adopters was smart. Insta-sale for many.

Hard to tell tbh, as it doesn't outright say that they have sold millions of copies of the game, so hard to tell one way or the other, as the terminology used is far too generalised to be taken at face value. But, assuming they have, then its entirely possible that they just outstripped GW2 in terms of sales, though when you consider Witcher 3 sold over 4 million boxes in the first 2 weeks, have to wonder if ESO might have achieved something similar, unfortunately, until we do get some kind of definitive statement from Zenimax, we won't know one way or the other. It does sound promising though, against all expectations at that.

What is your evidence that the majority of people who play or have played ESO believe it's a great game. Bare in mind the fact that this game went from p2p to b2p in under a year.

As a current player i can say the game is being more played now then ever.. the p2p b2p switch is only logical as not a single new mmo will surivive on a p2p bases anymore.
what is your trolling proof that the mayority dislikes / hates/ deleted the game.. .. ??

Few of my work colleagues who didnt look like gamers were saying how amazing it looked so there must be some good ESO marketing at the moment.

Dude, take a breath. Other people (a whole fucking lot of them) like things you don't like. It's OK....really.
I'm currently om a non-vet PVP kick with my little alts. I run only in groups where Teamspeak is required so there's some idle chatter during slow moments. So this gives me some insight into what new PC players are saying. There are tons and tons of new PC players who are loving the shit out of this game.
None of them really give a shit that some people hate it and are on internet crusades to be "proven right"... as if that was even possible. They're just having a lot of fun... and when/if that changes for them, they'll move on to the next thing.

I'm not actually that bothered since I never paid for the copy I got. I'm disappointed in the game, it just bores me. 5 of us went online and none of us thought it was a good game. I mean it was 15 minutes into the game we started to feel that it was a mistake to play it. I just wanted to play with my friends and kill some mobs and we had to start jumping through all these hoops to to it. In the end we just called it and played warframe.

Yeah, exactly, you're in the minority. Also, the console versions are getting 7.1 and 8.2 on PS4 and XBONE respectively, which actually indicates that, at least from early indications, that it's a better game that the PC version was. Although the PC version had more serious launch issues, so you're always apt to get a metric crap ton of zeros due to people just being haters. Again, you're not wrong, you're just a minority.

Good news; not unexpected; a message to retailers that the game is selling and they should keep their displays stocked. Zenimax will hope, of course, that it can achieve Skyrim type sales.
What does "millions of active players" mean? Millions of sales in total obviously and whilst technically they could all have transferred from PC ... unlikely. So I think we can assume it means millions of sales so far on console - and by default that it didn't achieve millions on PC.
Ahead of GW2 though - a stretch. GW2 sold over 3M in the "west" in its first 6 months; over 2 years of additional sales on top of that. In China it sold 3.8M at launch (as a b2p game) and - again - has had nearly 2 years to add to that number. With S America; the rest of Asia ....when / if Zenimax announce over 10M ...
Good news though; shame Zenimax didn't have the capacity to cope at launch.
Skyrim sold over 20mil copies, about 85% on consoles, so it stands to reason that many on console will see a new TES game and just grab it, plus all the really positive reviews and feedback and word-of-mouth for the console version, and you have a pretty damn popular game.
Mostly positive on Steam, 5/5 user rating on PS4, 4.5/5 on XBone. I'd say the majority are enjoying the shit outta this game.

I will disagree with you. I play and normally during prime time (NA Prime time) and I tend to see that the major cities are devoid of players.
Plus my guild that had 500 in it is down to 60 people and only 2 have been on in the past month. My friends list, well no one on it plays anymore. So not sure where all of these people are...must be in another instance of the game I guess.

Hah! I will be ashamed of you BC if you crossed over to the console version. On the serious side though, I might re-install the game again this weekend. Depends if I finish up a couple of other games I'm currently playing/re-playing.

The PC and PS4 versions aren't linked, you begin with a clean slate. Also, although you can link accounts you cannot get anything you paid for on the PC version to transfer onto the PS4 version. Other stupid things is that you have to pay to play on other factions other than the default one so my friend had to shell out extra to play on our faction because he wanted to play a nord and we had a couple of other well known issues. All in all we called it quits after an hour.

I'm in two 500 man trade guilds. Did yours lose its trader for a couple weeks? Both of those guilds have 100+ on all day. 15-20 people on my friends list daily. At one time that was down to 5 or so. Things have certainly picked up.

My experience is exactly opposite. I've been playing off and on for a year and all the towns, cities, etc are as populated as they were at launch if not more so since B2P.

Well they didn't outstrip GW2's PC sales. Just console sales, since GW2 is um,..not on the console.

Come aboard man it's time. We will welcome you. Just don't get on the ESO forums and suggest something "Like gw2"
If I remember correctly the first 15 mins. is the tutorial which you can skip after you've done it at least once.
