In the future, history will be a thing of the past!

City of Heroes had to remove the fifth column then replaced it with the council.

It may well have caused problems in various asian countries, just as the swastika is outlawed in many european countries. Most games do not feature swastikas on their WWII combat vehicles or gear for that specific reason.

Adding to that that the swastika is not a symbol designed by Nazi's, it is a ancient symbol used thousands of years before the Nazi Party was created.

Players could also just not play that particular game if they are so politically correct and want to enforce this on the rest of the world. It is a part of history and trying to erase it from the history books will not make those deeds undone.

Trying to erase such symbols in (digital) media with those era's as subject is like denying it ever happened.

Plus symbols they 'love' can be experienced as highly offensive to other players too. Not everyone has fond memories when they see the US flag or the British (empire) flag or any other symbols they used on their war machinery.

    this  +1 from me .

the rising sun is also part of japanese art.

but  anyway these as news are pretty old, for months the WoWs is using the standar Japan national flag..

Well i know it has been a hot topic for years and really bothers people but they SHOULD remember it is a GAME.

Now i guess it goes by standards, morals because we see things we know are bad in movies all the time or other things in games geesh we see things that are wrong or immoral in commercials. We hear some really bad stuff in comedy, the jest is that we are not to believe it is real and just "part of the act or part of the sell job".

How about under age gambling? We see it in games a lot we even encourage credit card use by getting kids to ok it with their parents and to prove how shallow the idea is ,on some occasions the kids steal that CC and land their parents in trouble.

How about kids using guns, ever see that in a video game? How about just the immoral idea of killing anything and everything that moves?Geesh on the same topic, how about the topic of war itself, you know how many people have lost their lives in wars  and families have been horrified by it?

Point is we either as a society need to shut the door on everything immoral or pick our spots, sadly we pick out spots and open more doors everyday. What seems to be a common denominator behind everything, money, greed and power.

this PC insanity has got to stop. This is a form of censorship and historical revisionism which is a grave sin IMHO. we are all the custodians of our historical heritage. Historical accuracy must be preserved. Even the most horrific deeds of history must be remembered as they actually happened. Offensive or not History is sacrosanct it must be remembered truthfully lest we repeat the same mistakes.

The dangerous implication here is that revisionism is OK as long as you're not being serious.
