Final Fantasy XIV caught in me in a big way. I had been hoping for a more PvE-focused sandbox but since that hasn't panned out well I searched for a title that gives a bit of freedom in what to play when. That's what brought me to XIV but the polish, attention to detail, and overall feel kept me. The weird thing is it has aspects that I typically don't like in MMOs but when playing I don't care because the rest is so enjoyable.

The moment I hit end game while hitting the token weekly cap, I gave up. Spend 6 hours a week hitting token cap, and then do nothing else. No thanks, I'll take my $15 a month elsewhere.
Why? because there was litterally nothing left for me to accomplish in game. You are right though, it was an enjoyable 2 weeks....
How many classes did you level? I'm not in a rush to get to cap (even if I do I'll try another class/job) and more focused on a balance of activities, including the story. It does have the same trappings of a themepark but since you can level all of the classes, including tradeskills, that have their own gearsets, there is a lot of replayability.
Not a permanent home but one that allows freedom enough until decent sandbox gets it's act together.
Edit: Ark does look pretty good but I'm more the Arthurian fantasy fan. I may still buy it yet...

Of course, this is the internet so it must be true because you say it is, and you're not secretly playing something you won't admit to.
Have fun.

Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward - Could not get into this game =-
Ark: Survial Evolved - Meh
Trove - Ground breaking and should be on this list. Love what voxels will do to MMOing.
Star Wars the Old Republic - Loved this game till I got sick of the VO for every quest. Why do I need VO for kill 10 rat quests .
Wildstar - Way behind the curve. This should not be on the list, maybe after it gets people playing when its F2P, maybe!
Elder Scrolls Online - Tamreil Unlimited - IMO still not an MMO. Wife and I banged our heads trying to play this one together. Between forced solo quests and things being so phased that 1/2 the time we could not see each other in the open world. The MMOer will not pick up this game ever. WoW has tones of phasing and my wife and I could still team, ESO just did it worng!
This one did. Come out to Cyrodiil and tell me what you think.
ESO and Robocraft are the only two MMOs I've played this year. ESO is my main and Robovraft makes a heck of a change of pass game.
As a huge TES fan I would love to come out to Cyrodill to come kick your butt. I was a huge supporter of this MMO while it was being made but in the end, I play MMOs to team and ESO did a piss pour job on that end. I could list about a dozen areas they messed up on the teaming side of things but I have made my point on why I think it has no right to even be on the list. Im glad people are having fun with it, my list just would not have it.
He's not talking about PVE. ESO is two different games. In Cyrodiil I'm typically grouped and on Teamspeak with 20 or so others including many couples. PVE... yeah, not the most group-oriented MMO ever (although much better now than when you tried it)
Any game with battlegrounds is dull pvp. Especially faction-based. And even worse, you can't talk to the other faction.
That type of PvP is the best PvP I have played. DAoC style PvP brings more to the table then any other type I have played. If your into ganking lowbies its not for you but if you want to fight, a real fight. Then this is the type of PvP you want to play. I would live there if the PvE was better.
I was one of the none of the aboves, I'm happy playing EVE for the past year and nothing really interests me thats on the near horizon, but I'll keep hoping something will come along.

Tera.
And Skyforge looks rather promising.

I couldn't vote because I haven't played FFXIV yet.
I'm having a blast with Trove *right now.* Let's see how long that lasts.
I'm also having fun with WildStar, but WS and ESO (even ESOTU) still belong to 2014 games, to me.
None of the Above
Will stick with WoW, Elite, and War Thunder for online gaming.
