Phantasy Star Online 2: UPDATE: Region Lock Reinstated

UPDATE (July 22, 2015) Our own Bill Murphy has confirmed that the region locked dropped late last week has been reinstated on SEA versions of Phantasy Star Online 2. Sorry to say, this means that playing on these servers means using a VPN.
MMOsite.com is reporting that the region lock has reportedly (and inexplicably) been removed from the SEA version of Phantasy Star Online 2. Players can now access the game without the use of a VPN.

I wish Sega remade the classic Phantasy Star classic RPGs with today's tech.
I would totally try PSO2 if available without VPN, but i dont see the appeal in the repetitive Vindictus style of games with no content.
I loved PSO on consoles as well, but lets not forget that the MMORPGization (or whatever you wish to call it (it's actually a lobby dungeon crawler with a few areas where many players can see each other)) of Phantasy Star has completely butchered and murdered a rich, generation spanning storyline.
The storylines in the online sequels are absolutely atrocious, with the most recent being super convoluted and absolutely childish.
As you can see from my avi I take Phantasy Star very serious. It was the first RPG series I ever played completely through. I'd love to see a developer pick up the pieces and create a new RPG or MMORPG that exists within a proper universe of Phantasy Star.

Skyforge is filling the void quite nicely and honestly the multiple class system on a single character is something I would consider a great advancement. I played PSO for years and was eagerly anticipating PSO2's release but really bad timing as Skyforge is alot like it and evolved in many ways, kinda weird but for the first time ever I actually don't care about PSO/2 and would prefer to play Skyforge anyway.
Day late and a dollar....or couple short Sega, action MORPG's are making large strides and between Skyforge and the possibility of Monster Hunter Online and many more it seems that PSO might share the same fate as Sonic, extremely outdated and not making enough advancement to even be relevant AT ALL anymore.
Sega just lost touch with western audiences so bad, so long ago, at this point even the last little bit that has kept hardcore fans holding on has been extinguished. Forget it Sega, too late.....don't care....that's hard for me to say as i've held on and held out for way too long.
Interesting. Playing on the Jap server with the English patch (which btw sega... I'd not be forced to do if you actually tried and gave an english release) I did enjoy it, even as simple as it was. Being focused more on missions it has both good and bad things about it. Over-all I did find it good as pick up and play type game.
I might give the SEA version a shot if we find out for sure the region lock is off for good, I dislike investing into a game personally though when its not for my specific region since I'd rather play on the version for my area. Then again Sega has been terrible in general, specifically with PSO2 so I might just give up and settle with SEA.

nice they make you create a 2nd password, but they when you are creating it, the ten-key is shuffled and you only have to type it in once! so its a mystery to the user too! no one will be able to get into it! not even you!
(why shuffle the ten key when you are creating the pass word??????) i didnt catch that is was shuffled until I had to reinput it when logging in later. well who knows what 2nd password i used. most places make you enter the password twice...
i get the extra protection but yeesh dont jumble the dang ten key at creation

Singapore and Malaysia are former British colonies. I am a Malaysian we have more than a little English since we study the language and use it in everyday life and a lot of people in my country are multilingual. Although I live in Italy now I studied English as one of two main languages which were compulsory the other being Bahasa Malaysia. I also studied Jawi which was the written form of Malay. Being Indian some of us also have to study in Tamil as in Malaysia they also insist each ethnic group study their own mother tongue that is Tamil for Indians and Mandarin for the Chinese. There are also Tamil and Chinese schools in Malaysia since those are the two of three races in Malaysia with the Malay being most populous. Of course there are minorities like Eurasians and Ceylonese and Malayalee but by and large the Indians are mainly Tamils.
So Singapore and Malaysia don't just have a little English ; just for clarification
