World of Warcraft players have long pined for graphical updates to the game and some are putting those dreams on film. A new fan video has been released showing a reimagined Westfall using the Unreal 4 engine. If only...

YouTube WoW fan Daniel L has also reimagined the Elwynn Forest in the Unreal 4 Engine as well. Take a look at the possibilities in the second video.

    +1, take note Blizzard.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

Funny little exercise right here :)

For obvious reasons it would not make sense to have WoW in Unreal 4, but it shows how far we've come in terms of graphic design engines, even in a very simple comparison.

Looks good for 2-3 years and then its crap. Blizzard is doing it right, stylized graphics are the way to go!

If they did it in the old zones. Many textures/trees there etc still look like if they were made of cardboard.

I think graphics and art style are two different things you can still keep the stylized look without sacrificing it but create a higher resolution and better looking game with this engine.

I disagree. I left WoW for a title that has far better graphics. I'm a graphics junkie. Back in the day I played EQ1, and it took a major system to run it right, and for its time it had some of the best graphics. I left it for better too.

100% agree, don't know if an updated graphics engine really gives anything to the game.  On a similar trend is Crowfall, stylized works better for longer.

Where do I sign? Want blood too? If wow was using this engine I would never stop playing. Kudos to the beautiful music used as well.

Unfortunately, WoW in UE4 wouldn't fix its problems.
  • BensorBensor Member UncommonPosts: 66

Far from perfect, but WAY better than the current engine. I mean, I wanted to play to WoW again a few weeks ago. Downloaded it, installed it, started a new character, deleted it after 15 minutes. Textures are disgusting. A shame. And I put every graphics setting at max. Don't want to imagine how it looks with lower settings.

What I see is advanced lighting and higher polygon animated environment.  Day night system shifting looked incredible.
