Trove, since launching last month officially on Steam and Glyph, has quickly become the #4 title on Valve's store, and Trion just today is announcing that 1 million active monthly users log into the voxel-based MMORPG. In short, Trove is a certified hit, and even Trion was caught off guard with its success.

Interesting. I tried it for a bit, it was alright, it couldn't really keep my attention for very long though. Honestly I think I am just tired of the blocky look. When Minecraft first came out I thought the look was charming but now its over used. I get that its the easiest aesthetic for a voxel based game, but at this point I just want everyone making voxel based games to catch up with Everquest Next Landmark.

It's definitely fun for a short while.. Until you find out how repetitive it is.  Great job for such a small team though.

I loved how casual this game was before challenges. Can't seem to enjoy it any more, though. Challenges are just a mad rush to kill as many bosses in a specific area as possible as fast as possible usually with the biggest group possible. Participation isn't mandatory, but if you don't participate, you're at a huge disadvantage because of how profitable challenges were made. It's just not fun to me any longer.

I was playing Trove full time but since the "official" release I haven't been able to stick with it. I was splitting my time between Marvel Heroes and Trove but MH has become my sole main game. I am not sure I can really articulate what happened that made me lose interest.

ArcheAge made sure that I will never play a game from that publisher again. Trove could be the best game ever, but I will never know.

Isn't being repetitive called "sandbox"? i mean in "real" sandbox games everybody just repeatedly camped and killed the same mob in a static place for months to level up?

A real sandbox it's where have 20+ of the guild members that go after 1 guy killing mobs with half health.:)

I enjoy Trove, but I'm concerned about all this hype. The honeymoon phase isn't over yet and with all of these positive stories, the prognosticators are gonna be even more obnoxious when the numbers dip... which they will, like most games.

I self identify as a monkey.

I'm no fan of Trion, but ArcheAge's issues stem from XL Games, not Trion.

BS .. Trion made a concious decision to lay down with XL... Trions issues stem from there greed .. You lay down with a fuggin ho , it makes you ........well just another Ho...

Im sorry but to me this game looks absolutely hideous.....IT looks like something made in the 1970s.....I dont care if every person on the planet plays it, I'm not.

Seriously, I got bored so quickly. About 1 week. But I continued for 1 more before I gave up. So repetitive.

It's fun to jump in if you want to play something for 15-30 minutes or so. If there's something you want to build you could spend more time. The game must be paradise for collectors. I think of Trove as an early prototype of the Great Game That Shall Be (prophesy).

Digital Lego for the masses. I was sick of and outgrew Lego at 4. I guess there are a lot of 4 year olds out there.

I love the collection aspect of it and obtaining new outfits for my character, but it's definitely one of those games you play in short bursts, otherwise the fun is lost (at least for me).

Even the kids, who are big Minecraft fans could not really get into it.  Just too repetitive for them and me.
