    Looks promissing.

I hope they will fix the Game Economy. So it's not like in Russian version, where few days after start you got loot items going for 50 million silver, while crafting materials going for 100 - 1000 silver, which made crafting and guthering useless.

    We should have Russia model.
We should all have a Russia model... at least once ;)

    What are your other Hobbies?

Gaming is Dirt Cheap compared to this...

B2P, suddenly i am more interested in this game. Hopefully they have a decent cash shop like GW2 and ESO. That will be the toughest challenge for the asian developer, to keep a decent cash shop suited for the west.

P2P is not profitable enough outside of WoW, and F2P is not good enough for normal people (not whales). B2P is the most well balanced business model for mmos.

I could care less if this is another ArcheAge. The fact that the graphics are 50x better and there's action combat is enough to make up for some faults. ArcheAge didn't have any such redeemable features.

I just hope it does not have forced PVP. I HATE PVP. Even more than forced group content. Solo all the way. And if it does not have any end content other than PVP or group only stuff, well I guess I'll continue to wait for another game that can take the crown from Vindictus in terms of combat. I never understood why so many devs just fails completely to cater to us solo players when it comes to end game content. They all seem to think leveling is the only thing we need. Ridiculous. Like adding some solo instances would be so extremely hard. And then we have the group lovers who think solo instance = zero effort. What? They can make hard solo instances that also forces you to redo them to get better gear, to get to the next solo instance, and so on. But no, everyone seems to believe the lie that playing in a group is the only way for something to be hard.
I don't get people like you. Sounds like you should be playing single player RPGs or ARPGs and not MMORPGs. You say devs don't cater to you...when there's hundreds of single player games released every year. You're just looking at the wrong section of games.

It's like if i only wanted to play FPS games, but i was playing adventure/rpg games and said "Why don't the devs cater to us gamers who want to play FPS? This is bs."

And you just lost any credibility in this topic. Saying ArcheAge's graphics sucked is like saying an orange is green. And not even recognizing ArcheAge had action combat is again like saying werewolves howl at the sun.

I have played the Korean version of Black Desert: If they really let you have "those" Vanity items then as a non cash shop player you are utterly Buttf....# .

    -------

The reason is you can buy Carry limit +200 (cuz you barely have some),

Inventory expansions (you get a total of 30 more free spaces) ,

Costumes which double your stamina, Pets which collect each blabla sec (you can have 3 of them) and so on

This basically ruins the fun for every user who just bought the Key.

    ----------

By the love of the game this utterly cash shop has such an impact on Korean server even for pvp (double stamina = double amount of evades) and such indeed it is pulling out mastercard to win the arming race. For having Advantage over your opponent you go into 100$+ but that advantage is huge. A standard "Rare" costume costs at the moment around 75$.

In that hinsight Black Desert is p2w. If equally skilled players Fight each other the one who bought the Cash shop shit wins.

    -------

Lets be honest if Daum hosts shitty servers here like in Korea everytime the game wants you to die, you die cause you cant run away because you are still in a skill animation which wont cancle/wont do dmg and the mobs still hit you. Bye over 1 million silver worth of crystals in your gear which is at the start of a fresh lvl 50 ish like 1 day of Grinding. (~8-9 hours)

a Warning: If you ever change the channel wait 3-4 minutes and hope it just crashes you instead of not registering your actions / still allow to aggro mobs and end up in a miserable rage death.

    Peace out.

I thought that they were going to have FTP and Sub based servers like the RU version, but hey, B2P with a cosmetic cash shop suits just fine. At least this business model will please most players. Now I wonder if it´s going to be a fixed price or optional deluxe versions...

Smart move, fans of the game drop say 60 bucks a head, when they are ready for a larger number of new gamers they drop the B2P and go F2P. Cash shop is already set up so nothing to change. From a money side of things, this is the best way to go. F2P within 1-2 years.

Alomer didn't say AA's graphics sucked, just that BDO's are 50x better. Also AA had tab-targeting combat when I last played it.

I think companies that offer B2P should promise to never offer anything but vanity items while under the B2P banner and must switch to F2P if they add anything more than vanity items in their cash shop.
that changes nothing :( ....what stop companies from going b2p the first 6 months then switching to f2p ? (lots of P2P already do that)  .... get boxes sales , some month subs ....and as soon as boxes sales stop and no1 is subbed anymore...go f2p!

b2p with cash shop = dead game.
As others have mentioned: your statement is completely false.

B2P is clearly becoming the only acceptable f2p model western players can stomach. The sheer hatred of f2p models is why subscriptions will always be viable in the west at least in hybrid form. In fact I firmly believe a pure sub model will make a come back when the right game comes out because it is the only model that supports 100% in game progression and immersion without requiring outside influences. There is indeed a market for such games or else first/second gen game resurgence would not be currently happening.

The pay model defines how a game is made and therefore only certain genre concepts can exist within subscription.

Typically, by design, asian mmos rarely interest me. I'll give this game a more close look however strictly because it will be b2p now. I lost ALL interest previously when I heard of it's changes and terrible easter f2p conversion.

    You stay sassy!

My guild plans on playing this so I'm glad it will be B2P and I won't need to worry about monthly payments. Until then, Dark Souls and its achievements will keep me busy.

BREAKING NEWS: Obscure game that very few people know about set to (not) launch soon!

    Meanwhile in Syria...

Are you daft? Black desert is actually quite popular towards anyone that doesn't live under a fucking rock. And every news is "not getting released soon", since people don't know how to wait for something.. Myself included.

B2p sounds awesome, just like GW2, hopefully no fucking expansions though.

Sad as fuck you can say something like that when you have archeage fanboyism in your signature and that game is p2w as fuck.  Man some people...

I love the gameplay but I have a feeling they are going to charge big time for spirit points in cash shop. Spirit points in this game are like labor points in archeage. SP are use to communicate with npc to unlock different items etc... in-game.

while i understand your message, your orange analogy is a bit off... We grow green oranges in the caribbean and they are in most cases sweeter than "orange" oranges while still green. Talking about the skin of course.

yeah off topic, just wanted to point that out lol

@Etherignis spirit points are generated 3 each 10 minutes online if i remember it correctly on KR so why would they change it? All you need it for is to invest into nodes. Crafting is litteraly not worth your time at the lvl 50/55 cap

Heh, i just posted this in the BD forums on this site.  Oh well.

I'm a little skeptical with the B2P version, because it might go F2P like GW2 did.
  • sketocafesketocafe Member UncommonPosts: 950
So it's going to be exactly like the F2P version but with a box price?

It does sound like that, if it was just vanity items in the cash shop, they could probably justify it, but, as they are also adding 'convenience' items to the cash shop, then its pretty much the same as the F2P version, so, not really a B2P game, but, a F2P game with a box price.

You can play the game right now on RU with an English patch. It's fun. However, the patch isn't perfect... "Hello hero! Please go to cow moo on the over hill beyond and me." But if you want a basic idea of the game, it's totally ready and nice.
