I'm glad they are still going to be developing games. Even though most MMO's they launch are abysmal in the beginning, they usually shape up to be really great games. TSW and AOC are both super fun now, and The Park even though it was only an hour long, was really cool to see.

Meh. TSW is mediocre at best. Development of 3 games is less exciting than development of a single title. Clearly they're trying to play their chips around rather than focus on a target, which should be of some concern to the TSW fan if they're hoping for a 2018 hit.

TSW is fun, up to a point. After a while you get tired of having only 7 abilities.
A second bar of 7 would be a breakthrough innovation for them.
Another idea would be a second set of 6 weapon trees.
But, I understand how people like to keep things as they are.
This is why they are making 3 new games.
They have polished their old apples to perfection.
A laudable achievement, considering the behavior of other companies.
CoH is a good example of how not to do it.
I will forever boycott that company, i can't recall the name having blocked it out of my head, thank goodness. Oh, NCSoft. Drat, i was happy to have forgotten it. May they crumble from within.
FunCom continues to perfect its royal jewels and is working on new presentations.
    Good for them.
I will give Conan another go, and check out their other titles, too.

These guys make amazing games, I like everything they have ever done.  Their attention to detail on most things is amazing.   They miss the mark in other areas but the quality of their work overall is so good, I give them a pass on the bonehead things they do.

I missed the horrible launch of AoC and played it at a year after launch and 2 years after launch for several months each time. I enjoyed the change from normal tab target combat, the graphics, and the fact that it's the only AAA actual Mature rated mmo I've ever had the pleasure of playing. Too many M rated mmo's are in fact failed attempts at Teen rating, ESO for example who have even made moves since launch to cover female character models even more as a M rated game lol. I've tried to get back into AoC since the f2p, but the game is just too empty. Therefore, even with all of their problems I wish Funcom the best and hope they deliver another product I'm willing to try.

Hmmm, guess I'm one of the few who thinks TSW is super boring after a certain point. I think the combat is what really ruins it in the end... I just couldn't get used to how it flowed, or didn't for that matter. Just felt really jilty and odd.

Maybe they can develop Anarchy Online, WITH A FULL GFX rehaul vs some new shadows and trees we got now..... and maybe make it where since I own all the expansions without a sub, so I can play without a sub on anarchy..... which is the best, most hardcore mmo. ever try to put on a ql200 implant? needing 25000 treatment at level 100, yeah its fun, grab your pillows for that treatment buffage

    Anarchy online best mmo ever

Anarchy was the best MMORPG. Unfortunately, it requires a "critical mass" of players it just doesn't have so the interdependence between players is gone. But not to worry, FunCom is right there with the solution to the problem.......It's all right there in the cash shop.

well if past shows at least it will be something completely different, something only Funcom has been able to achieve

This is why they are failing at everything they are doing.... WHY 3 games in 2016? focus your entire team on a single game, make the best game you can do then enjoy the profit.

All these companies trying to be the jack of all trades keep failing all over the place.

its because its 3 diffrent teams at 3 diffrent locations. so 1 game for each team. 1 team in norway, 1 in canada and 1 in US

After the horrid AoC launch and all their failed attempts to fix it in the 1st year, I lost faith and will never buy another title from them.

Anarchy Online with Star Citizen grafix in a borderless open world.
With land to conquer in pvp and with a huttball-like game.
With 2 moons to actually can be traveled onto :)

TSW was hands down one of the best games ive played , can't wait to see what are they gonna come up with next
  • wormedwormed Member UncommonPosts: 472
AoC was great after they fixed it but even then, there were a lot of suspect changes that made little to no sense. I'd love to see a AoC 2, of sorts, but with all the necessary changes.

I like these reports (too bad my other 2 favs don't have such).
Minifigs is a flop and will go on maintenance mode, that's not a big surprise  AO, AoC and TSW are still performing good. Park proved the idea behind the direction set in last year (along with our guesses, as I remember many said they will make small standalone games around TSW  ).

I lol'd at the "many channels including steam" part... including? More like -only. Hopefully along the console versions they will release a non-steamed version for the PC. Besides that it was a nice idea, I admit I was part of the mentioned "generated attention without a marketing budget" group - also a hilarious one, to put such line into a report, Funcom, you jokesters

For 2016 I'd guess the two small ones will be tied to TSW again (if sticking to the '70s-'80s and the psych theme I'd say the mine and Franklin mansion, playing Eleanor and watching as Ed slowly losing it, up to the murder), for the bigger one have no idea. AO could get some love too... Or maybe something with TLJ? Oddly it's listed among the IPs but I think they "outsourced" that with Ragnar to Red Thread. But a prequel to TLJ would be great, on either sides - as both have a stirred and interesting past.
(speaking of past, I'd love to see TSW's version of the Egypt plagues as one of the small games - but since that'd piss off 2, or maybe 3 religions, I guess it isn't gonna happen  )

Anarchy Online and The Secret World are no doubt in the top 5 mmos i ever played, they're not without tey're flaws, but they're amazing. Unfortunately Funcom has a bad record for launch days so many players guide themselves away from their games.

I wish Funcom the best of luck in 2016, it would be a great loss if the only mmo developer that actually tryes something different in their games would stop developing them, since the majority of mmos nowdays are either cookiecuters or clones of others, that gets really boring, they do bring (try to) some fresh air to a stale genre.
