The cagey Star Wars: The Old Republic team is being very cagey about some type of announcement coming during the weekly Producer's Livestream. According to Twitter, it should be a "BIG" announcement of some import.

"Even if they bring something for subscribers that would be something lackluster, like some useless pet or recolored mount or a animal companion that can not craft or go on gathering missions" that seems like the current consensus of the swtor community. Nobody is expecting anything good from them. It is kinda sad.

    I really think it is about time they bring a veteran reward system for subscriber that focus on providing more convenience when the subscription is inactive, for example : if subscribed for total 3 month; when subscription dropped there will be no UI restriction like quick bar and hide helmet, for total 6 month : mission reward restriction removed; fp loot limit removed; normal wz limit removed, at 9 month credit cap increased to 1 million etc, when subscription is active : players get access to exclusive companions with unique story and abilities; exclusive mounts that can not be found anywhere else; exclusive costumes that are not found anywhere else.

    Probably something that makes subscriptions more attractive. Bringing back any subscribers and attracting new ones to make the holiday numbers look good.

    It better be something "better" than that.

    I don't like it when developers say things like "big announcement" and it's nothing more than what one would expect any mmo would be doing such as an expansion.

    Maybe they are releasing a console version? I suppose that would be "big" but it's rather lackluster at the same time.

    With Drew, who came back a few months ago as a writer to SWTOR, and them saying subscribers it is probably a "story-related" thing.

    Whatever it is they are making a BIG deal out of it. Even if it is the next chapter, for it to not just be big news, but big, BIG news they would have to be adding some amazing stuff.

    They are saying things such as "Can't wait for people to see this! Gonna be so crazy and so fun ;-)".

    Just hope it's not another one of those things where a company hypes something "OMG, we have something major to announce in a few days!!!" then it turns out to be "What, this is the major news they promised?".

    i wish they would focus on making a game people want to sub to instead of trying to entice people with crap that only makes them re sub for a month or less if at all. They need to focus on what makes people sub long term not in short term increments then leave again.

    They need an open free roam space game like swg had
    They need a viable open world pvp attack/capture the capital cities of worlds with incentive
    They need to make companions unique again

    This is just another rouse to entice people for short term subs. They just dont get it all it seems /smh

    If it didn't say attention subscribers I would have said console announcement, but since it does.

    It is probably some more perks for subscribers and more ugly for F2P, they should just drop F2P with the system they are doing.

    I doubt they'll ever make a free roam space expansion for swtor, but it would be nice if they did. But I have a feeling that even if they were to make that kind of addition to the game it would be a half baked version of what players would want or expect.

    My guess would be some subsciption bonus.  Maybe even a bonus that scales depending on how long you've been subsribed. Could be a discount on the new battlefront game for subs i guess.

    Maybe it's something story related,  seeing who tweeted it,  but would ex. chapter 10 comming this december realy be that big of a deal ?   I mean it's good news ofc.  and bioware tend to overhype things so i guess that could be it,  but is it realy a "BIG" anouncement ?

    Wait,  Isn't SWTOR also the 2n'd most profitable MMO on the market?  They might close down number 357, but not number 2.  Or are you just trolling?

    I do suspect this is something big. It could have something to do with companions. Maybe a limited return run to OP for the Xmass season? I think it will be a Dec 18 tie in. New planets as seen in Force Awakens. 3 New Star Wars 7 Planets Revealed. I just think some kind of link to the movie is timely right now. Maybe a BB-8 in the cash shoppe.

    People are willing to pay anything for the name "Star Wars' no matter how much crap that turns out to be. So why should they bother?

    Personally I'd like to see a toolset like cryptic offers for their mmos, with a central hub to launch from, so we can see what creativity the swtor community has.
