Can't figure it out... countries within the EU? Nope. Population number? Nope (no Spain or Italy, and Switzerland is fairly small) Maybe Euro-using countries for the easier transfer? Nope. They all have "n" in the name? Nope. (though, Russia is actually RussiaN FederatioN, so....)
Maybe they just took 7 darts, threw it onto a Europe map, and listed the countries they hit
(for the record, I'm not affected personally, still have my box unopened and don't plan to play at all. I'm just curious about the solution, love the puzzles : )
Pretty sure it is based on those nations and or provinces/states gambling/ contest laws. It wasnt their choice to not provide the contest to you, it was the states/nations choice.
ALso not sure why the quoting system isnt working properly........

No different than any other prize or lottery sweepstakes. Quit your bitchin. It's still probably more than you make.
Usually you can take a lump sum, but as someone like yourself that had no real world financial experience beyond your piggy bank of quarters you would not understand usage of investment and interest.
Some other game did this once, and in the end they decided that the guy who won cheated, or that a whole bunch of people cheated, or whatever, and they didn't pay.
EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests
I almost entered but then read the conditions written with really small font and decided that the whole deal is very shady. Whoever wins the one million dollars will have to go through a complicated process with a great chance of forfeiting the prize, and the organisers also get the right to use the person's private information in their marketin campaigns and publicity. One of the weirdest parts was the section about Canada.
(iv)If entrant is a resident of Canada: correctly answer without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered at a mutually convenient time in person or by telephone. For Canada: If a winner is from Canada he or she, as a condition of winning/redeeming a prize, must correctly answer a skill test question.

Just out of interest, how would you cheat this? There's not a lot for you to do to enter.

You can bet unless they get their hands on some of that money they won't allow anything. That is the corruption that is government.
There is no way to cheat unless the developer was extremely dumb. All numbers would be registered server side and imo you should not even see your number although i know that wouldn't fly.Reason why is people could hack their own number and turn it into the winning number, however that would be extremely impossible because i doubt they just email you money lol,you will likely have to go pick it up in person so they can use you as a marketing tool.

I hope they count my Xbox One play time. I own it on PC and the One. I play it, when I do, on the One. It is tied to my account on their site under 'my account' so it should.
Thanks for mentioning this, I have it for both PC and Xbox so I suppose I better log into both just in case.
The no purchase necessary part I think is referring to we don't have to buy a ticket or some other token to be eligible to win (like in a lottery), but in order to play we do need to have an active account and that means buying the game.
$1M dollars plus some administration (and sponsorship!) costs for - potentially - a worldwide advertisement; pretty cheap. If they only clear $10 profit per copy sold then 100k-200k sales will cover it.
I have never not been able to enter a contest like this in the state of Florida, wtf lol.
It's because gambling is heavily regulated in certain places.
Florida requires that if the prize is more than $5,000 the contest must be registered there and a "bond" must be offered for the entire amount of the prize.
This goes for New York as well.

Shit like this damages the game, it doesnt help it. Try charging less for your game to get more users, not overcharging them, hoarding money and throwing it out there to entice new members.
It's FREE TO PLAY
(after you buy the game of course)

A lot of new people will also buy the game in a hurry when they see that contest. Regardless of how slim their chances of winning actually are. xD
Then again... they're probably better than winning at the lottery, since you only have a few million competitors at best, rather than... well, many more millions than that!
Chances of winning the lottery are fixed/static and based on number combination possibilities. Your odds of winning are the same if every person in the world plays or you are the only ticket holder.
Odds of winning the ESO drawing are probably still much better though Someone is guaranteed to win the ESO sweeps, unlike the lottery. And that someone could be you!
You make a good point, it doesn't matter how many people play the lottery, they aren't drawing your ticket out of a hat. Your really only playing against the numbers you picked and the numbers that come up. The more people that play the better actually, it just sweetens the pot.

The rules for that contest say:
- purchase not necessary
- you need to play the game and have an active account
If I don't own the game, how could I have an active account and play the game without purchasing it?
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
The no purchase necessary part I think is referring to we don't have to buy a ticket or some other token to be eligible to win (like in a lottery), but in order to play we do need to have an active account and that means buying the game.
You can make the best game ever but if no one knows about it .......

Hmm, what would I do with $1,000,000?
Probably pay half or more of it to the IRS and with the other half you gain a lot of new friends all of a sudden.
