If it has anything to do with MMOs, why not start a topic on it? People who find it interesting will participate, those not, not.
"If anything to do with MMOs"??? Now I know you are trolling. So many of the posts you make are just an attempt to push your definition of what an MMO is.

Not mine ... don't tell me you think the classification of MMOs on THIS site came from me.

No they don't. They're having more inclusive coverage. But Superdata stuff is all over the place which makes it useless.
Yeah, since they count every online game as "MMO"....i guess "mmo purists" want to tear their hair off. But presenting it this way is actually good for them. If they presented just "true MMOs" performance....
Anyway, its superdata so its worth as much as another random internet numbers

Every game isn't counted as an MMO. Its very selective.

It's not about being a purist. I don't care about what's a "true MMO" as much as this data follows no standard what so ever. These lists are inconsistent. They compare whatever data against whatever data based on how the pre-determined end result looks.
f2p games are going to continue growing in popularity because they are based on concepts of operant conditioning. Gamers get to play for free, but if they pay for special items there is a chance (variable ratio) that they will receive and epic item. This drives purchasing behavior within the game (much like using a slot machine or playing the lottery). As a result, gamers will eventually begin to pay more than 15 bucks a month to play. Sure, there will be some gamers who never purchase anything, but they will be left in dust as gamers who purchase items end up with better gear, mounts, and other items.
We should expect to see this model of gaming become increasingly popular over time. @VastoHorde
Why is it that when numbers like this come out there is a big uproar about their validity? Can someone really look at these numbers and tell me that they are off their rocker? Even if they are +/- 15% the fact of the matter is that P2P is still on a steady decline and F2P remains on a steady rise. That's not white-knighting or anything else, that's just realistic. The fact that they throw the P2P market a bone with SWTOR and TERA (since they have sub options) is just them doing the P2P market a favour, in my opinion.
I'd be interested in knowing how valid/invalid these numbers are. Anyone have any data on Superdata and their accuracy?
Why is it that when numbers like this come out there is a big uproar about their validity? Just Curious.
pretty simple, in the past if you wanted to publish something, you needed to get past a CURATOR, a publisher
in the past you couldn't just release a book, you couldn't just release data without peer review
in the past degrees were hard to get by, now every other person is walking around with some degree of some sort
now any clown with a keyboard and a wordpress account, can make a site and write anything they want
the amount of sites, the amount of published things, is massive, no one has time to check the validity, people almost never get called out on falsified data, because there is no time to check the sheer volume of publications
I do not trust sites like Wikipedia, we have allowed anyone with a keyboard to publish anything they want, often people who are completely biased on certain subjects
no one has to publish if there are any conflicts of interests anymore, if they did, half the news sites would be shut down, news sites are even proud of their bias, they say "liberal left wing".."conservative right wing"...opinion articles are no longer marked, they are now just mingled in with news, any form of curation has gone out the window
why do we no longer trust things written online? because we have ample reason not to
I wouldn't take this data seriously. They have Swtor listed as P2P, even though it's a F2P/P2P hybrid. I could understand if they restricted cash shop items to P2P only, but they don't.
-> Is sitting in a lobby waiting to play a game the game? That is where the Massive amounts of ppl are.
-> Once a game is created how many are actually playing that one game? like 10?
I don't know about you but when i played Quake back in the day on servers with 10 or 20 players in a game, they did not list them as an MMO..maybe cause they are not.
And it's all thanks to P2W. The only thing that gets a dime out of people's wallets.
Forget cosmetic items, that's just another word for stuff you won't buy. They only money making items are P2W, so Here come more P2W. If you don't like it, then buy some "cosmetic items". ROFLMFAO, people who complain about P2W don't have money to spend. So they aren't gonna buy any "cosmetic items" items.
Pardon any spelling errors
Konfess your cyns and some maybe forgiven Boy: Why can't I talk to Him? Mom: We don't talk to Priests. As if it could exist, without being payed for. F2P means you get what you paid for. Pay nothing, get nothing. Even telemarketers wouldn't think that. It costs money to play. Therefore P2W.

I look at hundreds of websites and webpages every single day as part of my job, every single one of them I have to rate based on certain criteria.
The fact they categorize League of Legends and Crossfire as MMO, disqualifies anything they write.
LoL is a MOBA, Crossfire a standard FPS, neither is an MMO.
come again.. MMO stands for massive multiplayer game like Lol.. and Crossfire etc.since u league there are millions of people online at the same time.. same for crossfire. the word MMO is wrongly used..
No LoL is not an MMO nor is Crossfire. Just because millions are online at the same time doesn't make it a MMO. If that were the case Mortal Kombat would be an MMO, Street Fighter would be an MMO. Online Chess would be an MMO. It's how many people are on the same instanced server/map and can interact at once. League is a team game, only 10 people can interact at any one time.
Everquest is an MMO, because thousands can interact in cities, and hundreds can interact in regular zones. Not to mention cross server commerce in the form of auction houses.
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile
Tera = P2P mmo...Strike 1. SWTOR = P2P mmo...Strike 2. League of Legends = F2P mmo...Strike 3.
Disregard, nothing to see here.
Uh .... you do realize that SWTOR and Tera have monthly subscription payment plans right?
Most Western "Free to play" MMOs have a $15 per month subscription plan.
So, I guess we should disregard everything you say then.
Uh... you do realize SWTOR/Tera's monthly subscription payment plans are optional right?
Uh.... you do realize in order for a game to be considered P2P, the only way for you to play it is to pay for it right(disregarding promotional trial periods).
So, I guess we should disregard everything you say because you don't understand anything about what P2P means and what optional means.
Were this to be the only content on the page, my rating would be Lowest Quality. There's no information on what any of those number represent, how you collected your data, what sources you may have used, who you are and whether you have any sort of expertise on the matter.
In short, what you've created here is absolutely useless to anyone, the graph has no purpose.
Oh really? How dare you question my data. I have a wordpress site.
Check out my latest data about the sale of strawberries.

That's cute, but your only digging your hole deeper and proving my point that people just want to whine about data they don't agree with. You couldn't care less whether it's true or not, you just don't like it.

So, you're saying Kiyoris couldn't care less whether the data she/he doesn't agree with is true or not? Okay, so are you saying League of Legends is an mmo? Are you saying SWTOR/Tera are P2P mmos? You're saying both of those things are true?

If they have similar data to show conclusions that they like, they would have already used it and they wouldn't mind that the data is from superdata.
