Can someone explain to me while the third page of the skill tree is locked to patrons only? Is it "that" big of a deal? It turned me off instantly knowing I may or may not be able to have access to the same skill sets that someone else does simply because they're willing to pay more money than me.

But it is not Trion shilling this game here, it is the people running this site. This site had several articles here pushing founders' packs for $150 on Trion's behalf, who then turned around and opened up early access a short time later for far less.

The absolute WORST type of game i will never ever play again is the top down camera locked crap games like this. This is end of 2015 and these top down games need to go back to the 80's with Zelda! I'm not having any of it!
Watched streams total easy mode game. Watched two guys speed run dungeon to spin the random wheel. Caster type kiting 20+ dungeon mobs and barely taking damage. LOL. I watched the guy play for 2 hours I dont think his health ever went below 50%.
So if it is that easy and it some how gets harder later as some people are trying to claim then that is more or less to make sure they sell stuff to make it as easy as it was in the early going.
As far as the graphics, combat animation and all that shit. So what every game going forward should have great graphics if they dont then they have been trying to raise money too long and are getting built on ancient platforms.
Zero interest in it and wont even play it for free. Because inevitability there will be a dozen or more hacks and/or people exploiting something screwed up with the game.
Another "EX" currency buy to play piece of crap that after a weekend people will tire of.
I am actually quite surprised how minimalistic the cash shop is - theres like what ~20 things in there none of which I found worth buying at all.
Have you see Rift's cash shop? There are 1000s of items in there - that's what I'd all *galore* - it is the most robust cash shop I've ever seen.
But Devilian's cash shop is both tiny and completely optional.
I have to agree with DK. I gave Dev a try when I saw the steam release. Its better than I expected. It's definitely an mmo.
Anyways, the cash shop is not invasive. I didn't even know where the icon to open even was at first lol. So far I haven't seen anything I would say is P2W or locked behind a cash wall. If Trion keeps the game like this, it should be a pretty fair offering to anyone looking for an Iso-mmo.

Company is still alive. What happened was the publisher from whatever country it was decided they wanted to focus only on mobile games. Bluehole Ginno (makers of Devilian) didn't like this to much so they cancelled the service with them. Last I read they were searching for a new company to take over as publisher for that country's version.
Really fun but might wait on this one a bit guys. Already through hell dungeons and fully geared in Butchery Set, not a whole lot in the endgame at the moment. Wait for a big patch or something as it only takes about a day to get to max level.

Most gaming sites aren't touching this title or are dismissing it entirely as generic trash. It seems it is the ones that have quid pro quo deals with Trion (massivelyop, this one) that are making out it's the best thing ever with constant streams, promotions, giveaways, etc.
I'm really surprised, I had/have both a shadowhunter and an invoker approaching cap and this is actually funner than I expected. It really has that action-y feel down and the cooldowns aren't so bad like in ToS where you can't even get a feel for your new class because everything's on a minute cooldown.
The only problems I have with this game so far, aside from being a tad linear in design, is that class balance is so out of whack it's not even funny. The TTK varies in minutes between SPECS let alone classes. And the Devilian form is, tbh, a tad underwhelming. The good thing is that balance is fixable and I'm sure they'll tweak what's needed in the future.
Only thing I don't like about the game are the worldwide megaphones. Has anyone else notice that the first human face on berserker is the same as the default human face from Tera?
Also to the author of the article, Tera and Diablo had a baby, well said! I had the exact same thought.
According to the FAQ, if you dont pay Trion money you will have restrictions in chat, trade and action house. Maybe that is their way of getting money in stead of the cash shop.
Well, I downloaded the game and made a warrior type (berserker or marauder don't remember name). I reached level 16 in my first playthrough. It's OK. Nothing special yet. I can't judge it until I see what's locked behind a pay wall.
You all just complain about cash shop. But what (in my opinion) is even worse is the kill-X-collect-X-quest-system with auto piloting function to get from A to B. It's totally lame and boring. Just more of the same WoW style s**t with a touch of D3. Why should one play this game instead of PoE?
