Typical of NCSoft products...after my experiences with Arenanet I decided I'd write off this set of companies entirely with their Nexon rules behind the scenes and series of hyped up media nonsense on the forefront. Typical. Can we say Atari ET all over again? Why yes yes we can.
This wasn't an NCsoft problem, this was a clear Carbine problem and still is.
Carbine is fully owned by NCSoft. That makes it NCSoft problem.

    Dear Carbine,

Next time you make an MMO please decide which kind of players you want to cater for. Splitting it half-half ends up pleasing no one.

Oh, and spend some time to optimize the damn code. Most of your customers play games on toasters.

I have no idea about all this drama, what I do know is that I recently decided to try WS out and have been pleasantly surprised by a decent fun little game, guess I really have no buisness posting on this forum for all you industry insiders and experts.

It makes it NCSoft's responsibility. Meaning, Carbine created the problem, but NCSoft now has to fix it.

MMORPG.com did get the main fact of this story corroborated by a known community manager. This gives them 3 sources. 2 anonymous and 1 named source. For gaming journalism this isn't half bad.

it's still a lame game either way made for a gamer market I still can't find.

If anyone ever buys another Carbine game and openly admits.. you can bet your moms tits I'll be back here making so much fun of you when it fails.

Unless of course EVERYONE.. currently working at Carbine quits or gets terminated and they rename the company to something completely different.

Then maybe.. but whatever the new company releases will have faildust all over it..

Oh, please. Anyone in the industry knows that paper pusher execs are just as chicks**T to openly hand out pink slips. Half or more of the team come back to find their key cards are no longer valid, and they're lucky if they get to take one or two boxes of their belongings home. A little anonymous forum revenge is about all they have as an option after they slightly recover from the betrayal.

I agree with the part about him stating his real name.

If they put their names - they'd never get hired by any game company again. Game companies are very incestuous - publicly they are competitive but privately they are a very tight knit industry as devs and employees end up working at many different game companies over time.

Everyone knows everyone in the gaming biz, and nobody likes a whistle blower.

Then you keep your Fin mouth shut .. .. So apparently a tight knit industry of cowards ... And i call BS there are people out there that would think more of a person that stands in front of there statements .. Just like any other industry ...

Whistleblowers never tend to be revered as 'upstanding guys'. Take Edward Snowden for example, a bit extreme I know, but if you put your name to it, more likely than not you will be ostricized from the very industry that you rely on to making a living out of.

I personally think that they should put their names to it, however I can completely understand why they didn't.

NCsoft only know one way of fixing stuff in the west, shutting it down.

"techical difficulties" were/are least of WSs problems. Completely wrong game at a wrong time is what killed it. "techical difficulties" just added on the fire.

The only thing NCSoft is guitly of is they let Gaffney talk them into buying WS/Carbine. Even all media (WS was most hyped game in history) and plenty of fanbois drunk the cool juice.

GW2/Arenanet has results behind them, damn great results, WS has a trail of fail. And none of it is NCSofts fault, in fact they gave 2nd chance to WS, if it was me ii would have shut it down instead.
