They rely on cash shop purchases am I right then why do they not crack down harder on the gold selling ? Won't it eat into their profit margin ? It does not make any sense that they would allow this to go on. Surely in the interest of self preservation and the mighty $ they should do something quick.

Why not block the website address through the chat filter? Including alternate ways to write it, like with spaces in between letters and "dotcom" instead of .com etc. If you can't write the name of the site, there's not much point in advertising now is there?

Having to constantly create new mirror addresses to link to your gold selling site can't be that fun or easy?

Ok will come back in a month and if it's not sorted there are other games to play in my spare time. Limited time to worry about spam.
Honest question. I know no one like to see chat spammed with gold sellers, but why is it enough to make you quit. Don't get me wrong B&S gold spam is constant and extreme, but I barley notice it while playing.

I am convinced this game was made by gold sellers. Cash is so hard to come by in this game and if you want loot drops you have to bid cash haha. Make a game that the fools  in the west will play and make it hard to make money then stick every gold spammer on the planet on them. Its a win win  situation for them.

Then you get stuff like \/\/\/\/\/\/-____________. Chat filters do almost nothing.

What I had in mind was that the chat server wouldn't allow posts containing certain webaddresses to be posted.

That bidding feature in dungeons is stupid AF. A simple round robin with the option to decline would have been fine.
"As far as the forum code of conduct, I would think it's a bit outdated and in need of a refre *CLOSED*"

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Even P2P MMOs get some of this at launch and it takes them a while to get it under control with all the other stuff they have to deal with. Add free account creation into the mix and it's gold spammers gone wild.

As long as there's a market, there will be sellers spamming chat. And F2P games don't really want to get rid of the buyers since they will likely also be the cash shop's best customers.
Some never get it under control. It depends how popular a game is viewed and other things if the gold sellers pop up and stay. FFXIV is FILLED with gold spammers so much so that i managed to almost fill a blocklist in about a month...

Wait, the losing bidders get the money from the winner.  So that is decent way of doing it.

It's multiple gold selling companies using scripted account creation and many of them don't even use the client - they pipe chat into game via 3rd party tools that bypases the client entirely.

So they create accounts and can blast chat with spam without client launch via direct com channel to game servers. If they are banned - it matters not - another account is ready in less than 1 second.

That's how they do it so fast - not having to launch the game client speeds things up tremendously.

There are games that ban over 100K accounts at launch every day - this is what BnS is experiencing right now - it's a no win situation.

As a side note players always think that GMs are the answer - no human force can deal with automation of this magnitude - that's why auto-bot creation is best dealt with auto-ban automation which is what NCSoft is doing.

It's one scripted system fighting another
Auto-banning doesn't work very well, I say as I watch the bot train run past me, making me think my client is crashing from the "solitaire trail" effect of watching so many accounts moving in the same place at once.

Apparently once you hit level cap the dailies start paying out silver, ~20ish, instead of copper. So that's where the money is made.

Getting upset about this is like getting mad water is wet. This is standard for all new MMOs. If you dont like new MMO growing pains, wait 3-6 months.

I'm going to see if I can change the OP but it seems everything is back to normal right now.  There's about 8 gold spammers once you block them then its all quiet.  I think because yesterday was Sunday it was everyone's day off so there wasn't anyone around to stop them at ncsoft.

What annoys me more than gold sellers is the amount of people who think that this game requires gold sellers... No wonder they run wild.

I do not have the best gear, but i have over 35 gold. I can spend all of them if I want, on upgrades, but that is not my goal. You can use purple 45 equipment rather than non-upgraded hongmoon weapon and do just fine.
Even blue gear can be used. And it's cheap.
Upgrading equip endgame is really expensive compared with the bonus you get.

Only 2 weeks have passed, new content isn't even announced. Why do people need to rush?
I will level more character to farm more than 10 gold a day with dailies.
Currently I sit at around 4 gold with 1 character but I'm a noob and need to learn how to manage my time.
I have a job btw, and can only play around 4 hours a day max. But that is enough.

In meantime I'll wait for prices to be lowered, maybe use my gold to buy nc coin when it will be enabled.
My end game goal is to have a custom made costume when it will be enabled with guild updates.
