After the career agents be sure to do the "Sisters of EVE" beginners story arc. Gives you even more ships, modules, skillbooks and cash. You have to fly to their system - its in High Sec, so no problem.

Between that and the stuff you get from the career agents you have a solid start with a cruiser, destroyer, frigates for various tasks, some basic equipment and skills plus some cash.

    Have fun
I got nothing from the SOE quest line but Isk.  And well lots of wasted time traveling around.  The SOE Arc is utter crap imo.

Just do the career agents and look at getting in a corporation while you are doing those.  A decent Corp will get you sorted out far better than the wast of time SOE arc.

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

I played this game casually for three years. I earned over 40 million skill points, been part of corps like eve university and lived in HS, LS NULL, WH, SOV etc. And I think because I play casual, nothing amounts to me being good at this game. Because I no longer have time to play this over an hour a day or more, it’s very difficult to enjoy it.

Eve University isn’t perfect. It will be boring if your time zone is different than their scheduled classes. I have a life so it was tuff for me while in there. They run like a RL Corp and are very strict. But it’s the best place hands down for unbiased information to learn the game. But truly, you can glean most of what they offer by googling it.

EVE is hardcore. EVE commands patience. EVE PVP is mainly gate camping 10 vs 1. For good or bad, rarely does PVP turn into fair battles. My opinion is you better have a lot of time in a day to play his game and be willing to read and watch a lot, and I mean A LOT of pertaining material or you will be bored, frustrated and ganked.

I play clash of clans. Free. Simple. Mobile. And oh yeah, its fun too.

I have started the game several times and quit because this is the biggest cesspool of human nature, this is like Trump in steroids. There are a lot of good players but there is a lot of bad ones who the only pleasure of living is to make other people's lives miserable.

Any time you have this kind of PVP you are going to have a crappy player base....Sure there are some solid citizens in game but for the most part this setting breeds idiots.

Do you mean because there are clueless people spewing nonsense about the game..?
No, OP is scamming folk with trial invites. If he were being honest, he'd talk about the plex created if they pay 15 bucks after their trial and talk about how he's going to split it with them. He's not being honest. This just leads to new players feeling raw about something early on when they find out and dropping the game.

This wasn't a recruitment thread, I was seriously just looking for people to play with. I don't give a crap about the referral stuff or oh I don't know perhaps I would trying in the actual recruitment thread! I mean hell I was even trying to start a discussion about what people didn't like in the game, for people that have tried before.

It doesn't matter anyway, I am playing now and enjoying it.... so meh I got a couple RL friends to join me and we are having a good time.

Thank you to those who offered real input, I appreciate the advice.

The thing about Eve is, you can do anything you want.  Most people new to the game jump in, decide they want to be a miner or mission runner and then get bored.  Honestly, there is a ton of stuff you can do in this game but people expect it to be like most other MMO's.  Once you learn how to do something, start learning how to do something else.  Exploration and Faction Warfare are both very fun to get into after doing the safe stuff (mining and mission running) and Faction Warfare can be done in a cheap frigate.

Oh yes, I see. You mentioned the trial but just forgot to mention the plex created when your sucker, I mean, recruit actually buys the game. An honest mistake, I'm sure. Offer them half right off or piss off, scamming newbs is detrimental for those who want new players to stay.

New players are just bait. And with the direction CCP is taking the game its even worse now. Like someone else said. The only way for a new player is to have vet friends that play the game that can give you millions of isk to start with.

Not even worth a response. Believe as you wish, because flat out IDGAF what you think... period.

Oh and honestly if someone actually does want to sign up for a trial... go to the trial thread as that was not what this post was meant to be.

Trouble with games like clash of clans, game of war etc. is that they are massively pay to win, tbh, at this point its pay massively to survive as new players are farmed in a way that makes Eve Online look like carebear heaven.
I did look into those games, turns out if you want to get anywhere in the games you have to pay out close to £90 a week, those kinds of games give mobile gaming a very nasty reputation, its easy to see how kids run up huge bills on their parents credit cards through them, they make Entropia Universe look like samaritans. :p

Oh really? I recently created a trial account and end up with 3B ISK - 3 month of subscription worth PLEX, at the end of trial period.

I guess I must have done something wrong, right?

I'm always a bit shocked by the people who think that EVE is nothing but a cesspool of evil players.  If it was, then it wouldn't have survived anywhere near as long as it has.

In fact, it's just the opposite.  EVE has one of the friendliest and inclusive social scenes in gaming.  Mostly because it has to be that way.  EVE Players in a corporation or alliance have to put far more trust in each other than they do in other games.  This leads to a kind of bonding that is rare in other games.

All this being said, there are groups and individuals in the game who are psychopaths, or who go out of their way to cause grief and harm to other players.  But this is true for any game with PVP and not even remotely exclusive to EVE.  League of Legends has a far far more toxic player base overall than EVE and it's one of the most popular games in the entire world right now.

Find a good, well established corporation who does a little of everything that you want to try and join them.  Whatever you do, don't sit around trying to play this game solo.  It will kill your enthusiasm.  It's custom built for cooperative play.

I think the EVE gaming strategy ahs always been "Just keep looking at those pretty ships!"
