Shouldn't you be playing Counter Strike or something?
I don't know why I still hold out any hope for this game. It brings a tear to my eye when I think about how great this game was before Sony ruined it. I have been seeking a game to replace it, and there just isn't any games out there that are as good as SWG was before the NGE killed it.
The new Star Trek game looks like it's gonna suck, and The Matrix Online is run by SOE, so I refuse to head in that direction. Everything else pales in comparison.
ROFL Obraik... This reminded me about this video of a CS or some other XBox live game where this 9 year old is fighting with his mom because he wants his chocolate milk! Strongest argument ever against Voice Chat on MMO's!

Vanguard saga of Heroes is the one to replace SWG. But, its still months away.
Mounts by level 10, all kinds of mounts, flying mounts too. Player owned ships for traveling. Npc's you can hire to protect your homes. Contact with players from outside the game. Lots, lots more.
Check its website and read some more of the awesome stuff it'll have. Can't wait!!!
Hey Obriak ... I just tried the 10 Day "Free" Trial again and this time I used the recommended server ... guess what .... it STILL would not allow me to continue on unless I gave them some money.

At least the counter strike admins wont take everything I know to be right in the game, and kill it. UNEXPECTEDLY AND WITH ME PAYING THEM.

Damn Obraik, you are a SWG forum ninja. Of all the "SWG sucks" threads I have read on this site, and there are many, you have managed to make an appearance in every damn one of them in defense of your game.
I gave up on SWG awhile before NGE, but way to stick with your game. I don't recall the original game being so amazing as some of these threads describe it as, but everything looks better in hindsight I suppose.

Just a friendly note: Alot of people here are either older or more mature gamers (sometimes both.) Your sentiment would be more well-recieved if it was better articulated.

you don't have to pay monthly for CS, in fact I doubt most people who play it ever legitimatly paid for a copy in the first place. The only reason SWG is fucked now is because of the monthly fee. If SOE didn't have that, then they wouldn't be trying to cater to a particular kind of consumer, and keep changing the game to meet these (apparent) demands. But of course, the real draw for anyone to do business with MMOs is obviously for that guaranteed monthly fee. It's just too bad they've given up everything that makes common sense in favor of poor statistics and focus group studies.

Yep, it sucks worse than going down on the so and having a blast of gas.
Yes I made a new accouunt with a new email address, redownloaded the client software, did a fresh install, and this "FREE TRIAL" isnt free. Only the tutorial was free ... once I wanted to enter the actual game it kicked me out to a page to subscribe.
So much for checking how the game is going ..... I absolutely refuse to pay unless I know there has been significant improvements.
I really wanted to see if the game had improved. it's a shame $OE does stuff like this. Has anyone else tried to create a new account and use the 10 Day FRee Trial?
