In some ways, it's a perfect sequel. It's instantly recognizable, yet different enough not to feel like you're playing through the same game again.
zones in Dark souls 3 are much more better and look better.
I personally still haven't tried the second (Let alone the third), but I'll still get it when I find some decent discount.
u should start with dark souls 3, feels a lot more newbie friendly.
if u buy game from steam, u can refund it if u played less then 2 hour.
if u cant beat game first boss in 2 hour, refund:)
thats all DS needed, better graphics. The gameplay has always been there since Demon Souls.
What i dislike about the DS series is that the PC ports are poorly made. I bought DS1 and spent the first hour trying to get it to function. Had to finally search for mods and input files to get it to at least work. Even then, having console controller labels on action items was very annoying. I skipped DS2 when similar reviews surfaced when it was released. At this point this is what is holding me back from buying DS3 and giving it a shot.
The combat isn't actually that hard once you get used to it. A good way to bosses or hard mobs is:
- Dodge their attacks
- Wait for them to pause in between attacks
- Hit them once (maybe twice, but don't push it more than that)
- Back to dodging
That's pretty much the whole game. They will try to trick you with varied attacks and especially surprise monsters, but you actually do learn how to play as you go and get better.
And everyone dies in Dark Souls games. A lot. It's part of the fun.
