I heard beta 1 is targeted to start in about 6 weeks. Cost is $ 60 donation(which allows for as much access as they plan on having. IT WILL NOT BE 24/7.....AND A VERY EARLY INCOMPLETE FORM OF THE GAME.
It may just be semantics, but I wouldn't call that a beta. IMO, a beta should be a persistent, fully featured test.
Yea, it's just semantics. Quoting a renowned veteran of the video game industry who has overseen the development of more than 200 games: "...it's rare for production terms such as Alpha and Beta to have the same definition from company to company or even studio to studio." "... those definitions are codified in conjunction with the team that executes against them ..."
So for real guys.. I don't post often, but this isn't "beta" this is M f'in J. This guy is the man, and he knows what it takes to build a great game. He has my full support and confidence. For you younger players you may not understand, but take it from the vets that have been around this game will be excellent. Even if the playerbase doesn't kill it in the beginning, word of mouth will make this game big.

All that and they are doing this on a meager 4 mil... AAA games spending 10's of millions more. I can tell you DAoC is some of my fondest memories in over 20 years of gaming. Jacobs will not disappoint.

Give it time, you will not just have fun in this game, you will make memories.

The total budget so far for CU is +$7M and keeps rising steadily with the backers' pledges.

So many other promising games were rushed and ruined. I know patience isn't something I have in abundance, but I'd rather they release a complete and polished game and wait a little longer. Although that is getting harder and harder with no MMOs that I enjoy playing right now.

...I would like to try this game. I hope my machine can run this game when it is finally published to the public.

GTX 1080's coming out soon, just quad SLI that and you'll be good to go ;)

In all seriousness, unless your machine is ancient I wouldn't worry too much. One of the main priorities they have is optimization. Besides, I'm pretty sure a 960 is under 200 bucks right now.. you have some time things will only get cheaper.
