Final Fantasy 7 Suikoden 1 Suikoden 2 Baldur's Gate 1 Baldur's Gate 2 Neverwinter Nights 1 Neverwinter Nights 2 (spent a lot of time on PW's of both games, some are still far superior compared to pretty much any MMORPG currently available) TES: IV Oblivion (heavily modded) TES: V Skyrim (heavily modded) Fallout 3 (heavily modded) Fallout: New Vegas (heavily modded) Planetside 2
Just listed the games with the most hours I remember spending on, cause of replayability or simply awesome multiplayer. Still playing them today. MMORPG's actually could never hook me that effectively than the first seven games on my list, even though I spent a lot of time on some.
Recently it's been Hearthstone and SMITE. And both are games I can still log onto today and have hours of fun. Always nice to have a couple of those in the pocket.
World of Warcraft - fantastic group of people in a great raiding guild. Ahead by some distance. Aion - One of my all time favourite classes, the Cleric. Good pve instances, great pvp fort and territory battles. FFXIV - A modern day WoW for me. Good group of people and another of my favourite classes - The White Mage.
We'll just assume anyone who's on this site has spent alot of time in MMOs, so I won't go into a list of those. I probably sunk more hours into EQ1 than any other, though. Friends and companions always kept me going strong in that one.
So for single-player games:
Total War series -- I could start one of those games and just play all night long and lose track of time so easily. I figure once I finally pick up Total Warhammer(after they fix the bugs a year after release), I'll probably spend hundreds of hours in that.
X-Com -- spent quite a few hours in those as well.
Mount&Blade -- almost forgot that one.
Fallout/TES games, of course. Though, they always feel like they are missing depth by the end.
Mass Effect series. I'm so sad that the original Bioware is dead
I'm usually not the type who will spend years playing the same games over and over like some of those CounterStrike nuts and such. But, some games I come back to now and then like the above-mentioned.
I spent alot of time in Battlefield 2 back in the day, also, for multi-player. I do love flying jets and choppers.
For MMO's SWG, Eve Online, Earth and Beyond, WoW, EQ 1, Planetside 1, FFXIV:ARR, SW:TOR, Asherons Call. and lately, BDO. for none MMO's Counterstrike, Mass Effect 1&2, DA:O, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Neverwinter Nights 2, TDU2, Age of Empires, Starcraft 1. tbh, this is really just scratching the surface of the games i've played over the years, there are so many that what i've put down is really a fairly truncated list. It did make me realise one thing though, i really play games far too much. O.o
EQ1. If another good MMO launched today, it would probably take the rest of my life to put the number of hours in that I put into EQ and EQ emus in the last 17 years. I just don't see myself having the kind of time to play games the way I once did.
Despite my inability to devote that kind of time, I still believe oldschool mmos provided a much more enjoyable and compelling experience for both hardcores AND casuals.
After EQ, WoW/WoW emus and Vanguard were the games I spent the most time playing. ArcheAge could have been a game I'd have played for a long, long time had it been managed properly.
The following games I've spend many hours on but are no longer available. Afterworld: 7 years (No idea on hours but played everyday in the hope of it turning into an RCE) The Repopulation: 1200 hours + Fallen Earth which I no longer play but clocked about 1000 hours. 7 Days to Die clocking 479 hours
This doesn't include console games but the list just goes on...
But my newest craze has to be Fragmented where in testing I've clocked 236 hours so far but planning on clocking at least 1000 hours.
