As much as I found it cheesy it was not that bad.

I hope it doesn't flop as there is a ton of lore they could use for the movies and maybe potential other games try movies too (Diablo for instance).

Movie deserves to be a bit, imo - so that's good news.

Chinese people aren't REAL people. The only sales that matter are western sales, primarily USA sales. Why? Because reasons.

Regardless of the quality of the movie, it's not going to flop because of the raving fan-base anything Blizzard does, has.

So, if it's actually a fantastic movie that people love - it's still because of the raving fan-base that it doesn't flop?

I don't think anyone who has even a slight pulse on gaming, WoW, and MMOs in general doubted the movie would do great in China. And despite movie critics, I too will probably go see it in a week or two. I already have thousands of hours of entertainment pertaining to Azeroth spread across from the first Warcraft RTS to Warcraft 3 and of course World of Warcraft. What's a few more hours?

I'm also willing to bet that the majority of those who are bashing the movie before seeing it or WoW in general in order to look cool or edgy on these forums are probably some of the ones you would see first in line waiting to get a ticket on opening day.

To be honest I'm a gamer but when we went to watch this movie I kinda felt a little ashamed of being one next to some of them.

Some of those people in the movie theatre where clapping, shouting, whistling, laughing for absolute nothing! (The slap in the face was NOT funny) and I was facepalming myself all the time.

Because I'm pretty sure people were morons in the theater way, way before games became popular enough to base movies on :)

Well it was the first time me and my friends witnessed something that big of scale in our small island. I never went to a movie and had people shout, whistle just because they saw Blizzard written on the screen...

Only other movie that had people laughing out loud was Deadpool but that was understandably considering the movie.

There's a part in the movie that is a bit hard on your eyes if you watch it in 3D.

    Just a warning.

As soon as I saw the critics reviews giving it bad scores I knew it would make tens of millions on opening day.  If you take everything the critics say and put the opposite you actually have a real review.  Critic reviews are a joke in themselves.  If critics hate it I normally love it and vice versus.

Not a fan of CGI mixed into live action but I will go see it regardless because I liked the lore even if they water it down for the movie.

My guess is the movie is fine. I was just watching Movie Bob's review and he absolutely hated it. His reasons were that he suspected that the movie was made by a fan who loved the source material too much.

While that may be, I am thinking that too much is being made of what the movie "should be" and instead of just thinking "it's only a movie".

It's another case of people hating x movie because they know all the lore and the movie is not following it.

I liked the last X Men but I heard people complain about it due to the lore.

Not saying this warcraft movie is spectacular, but it's not bad.

I rarely pay attention to critics.  For the most part, their tastes are not mine.  I'll be going to the movie and making my own judgements.  I can afford to be disappointed if that ends up being the case.

I imagine its easy to watch and doesn't tax ones brain too much which will be perfect for the WoW crowd given the game itself is easy to play and doesn't tax ones brain too much either . Its probably entertaining enough as a glossy and trashy family fantasy movie . Its Warcraft it was never going to be high art or high brow entertainment was it .

I can't think of any major American film that has ever come close to taxing the brain so not sure what that has to do with anything.

Depends on what you mean by "taxing the brain". I don't think, in general, blockbusters of any nation are there to "tax the brain".

But Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, 12 Angry Men and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest come to mind.
