http://kotaku.com/resident-evil-7-in-vr-is-a-nauseating-mess-1782288909So Oculus told Sony last year that they felt the specs on the Sony VR headset was not good enough and it would cause a lot of Nausea. Is this article points evidence to that or is it really simply a lack of proper controls and that is all?

My wife and friends who were at E3 all demoed RE7 as well in VR. Every single one of us came out feeling nautious and some of the reps said that they were hearing that complaint a lot.
Clearly it is somethign with this demo in particular as we (or at least I) didn’t have this problem with any other VR demo that we played on show floor.
We had a long discussion about what it was and we came up with a few conclusions
1) You mentiond this already bt the fact that you could send the camera one way while your head is either stationary or moving the opposite direction is tough on the brain
2) Related to the above you also have varying speeds of movement between camera control, head movement and walking speed which results in an constantly shifting perspective
3) Frame rate occassionallly would dip in the demo and was not optimally running so a world that doesn’t move at a regular clip could be problematic
4) Graphics were not good in the demo compared to on a TV screen, the edges were jagged and textures looked somewhat off making for a more blurry appearance to the whole thing which combind with the varying movement probably also did some of the work making you feel nautious.
I see how VR coudl be fun in this type of game but they’ve got a lot of fixing to do to make it playable.

I can't believe this is happening all over again. This "VR" reboot is one of the dumbest things I've witnessed in my life. Beyond high end movie watching, those headsets will serve no long term interactive purpose. It does NOT work with the human brain. The developers know it, they're just hoping to cash in on the fad before it phases out again.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Don't underestimate the problems of positioning the screens, either. Parallax is extremely sensitive to angles being slightly wrong. If it's not quite centered right or not quite the right distance from your eyes, it can be a giant and constantly changing optical illusion. That's not good for avoiding nausea.
@DMKano the thing is nearly all of us get motion sickness to one degree or another. The lower the framerate, the greater the lag etc the more people are going to be effected and the more pronounced the efect. This Sony VR seems to be much more likely to effect people than the other two.
Can I just like walk into Best buy and try a VR headset out? Im in Clearwayer Florida so hmm?
Let me re-state my orginal a bit differently Until one can walk into a store an purchase an Oculus Rift or a Sony VR headset then the story of VR has not yet even begun. I dont think its unreasonable to suggest that maybe just maybe the Sony VR headset should be out before we start making claims that VR is a dead technology
